    Does he train before or after swimming practice?
    I find myself too fatigued during practice if I do strength training before

      I don't know what Adam does, but he has a vlog where he may mention it. Ideally, they would be separate. Going from one to the other would cause the second activity to have a lower performance. If you had to do them one after another the order would depend on your abilities. If you're new to lifting, I'd recommend lifting then swimming. If you were to swim first, you would be fatigued and probably have poor technique in the weight room. Unwise and maybe dangerous. If you're experience in weight training and fatigue wouldn't impact technique, then I'd recommend doing your primary sport first (swimming) then supplementing it (weight training) after.

      About 35 hours a week of training he said. Most in the pool 👍

    So he is chest pressing more than squatting ? This doesn't make sense

      I think he says "20 to 25 kgs" NOT as the captions read, 120 - 125 kgs 🤨 I too, thought that was bizarre 😳 You'd be able to see his chest from Space 😖

      Muscles look different through the day and weak. Whether it be water weight, pump, lighting, creatine, people can look very different without any real change in muscle mass.

    Has he ever squatted before this recording? He doesn't even know where depth is, he just descends until he gets scared then stands up. His toes are too forward and he's completely loose under the bar. Does he have a strength coach???

    • @guest4590
      @guest4590 4 ปีที่แล้ว +55

      He's a world record holder Olympic gold medalist. I think you care more about his squat technique than he does.

      @@guest4590 I know who Adam Peaty is. Which makes it all the more shocking that he doesn't have a strength coach.

      Scott Mayo he doesn’t go deep so that he can do them explosively and his Squat technique resembles the breaststroke kick

    • @craig484
      @craig484 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      For power based training especially in swimming, you're meant to descend slow and explode up - much more relatable to the 50/100m events (e.g. the buzzer going off, turn push off, pull out, stroking etc,)
      If he trained 'slower/more controlled'' on the up phase he would be taking on a bodybuilder role and gain too much mass - time under tension would be high - the reps are kept low to teach the body to be explosive and stay lean and maximize 100% power for the next workout and so on
      It is surprising there is no strength coach there!

      @@craig484 I don’t think he criticized Pratt’s tempo or how fast he was doing them. But Peaty was definitely missing some key points of squat technique.
