The nurse was the way she was in the first dream world because in the real world pre-coma Lois knew they were having an affair and probably felt like Redd was better than her in some way, like must have some higher philosophical mind and that’s why her husband was so attracted to her. Also it’s possible that before her husband’s true nature was revealed, she felt like Redd was the one who seduced him instead of the other way around (hence the nurse’s predatory nature when she’s whacking him off in the hospital).
Redd as the nurse is how it can feel to be cheated on. Like it had to be because the “other woman” was so irresistible and a cunning predator. A “classic” woman with the 40’s/50’s aesthetic (this is what the husband and his men’s group feel we should go back to, old time values) BUT at the same time, she fits the classic men’s fantasy of “Naughty Nurse.”
PS: the mixture of old and new tech is bc Lois is older so she just jumbled up the tech in her dreams as we often dream scenarios that don’t make a ton of sense.

Yeah, I was actually great talent. This guy is a superstar in the making for sure. I really hope he doesn't get trapped in the Ryan Murphy machine, but I'm positive he's way bigger than that. And obviously Jacob Elordi is a great looking guy and they both have their good looks, but I heard that they're making some kind of American psycho remake or redo… Which is funny cause it's based on a book so it's Canon. But has nobody seen Ryan, he could play American psycho Patrick Bateman to a T. I think they started a production on that before he was on their radar or maybe he just didn't get the part because of star power, because I can't see anyone better to play Patrick Bateman in modern times then Ryan. I love how everyone thought that the other actor was hotter, they're both beautiful, but my eyes were gravitating towards Ryan lol

Really enjoyed this video, as I do all of them. Just up to the point where there has been a very surreal, abstract turn -
I went to a Catholic school as a non-religious kid and we were taught the various interpretations of the bible. We would switch from a literal interpretation straight into a hunt for symbolism in the same text. Shifts from grounded to dream-like in Grotesquerie are interesting to me for this reason.
The idea of punishment is also a very interesting one to play with in this context.
Regardless I feel like I learn a lot from this content, so thank you.

    9:59 Spoilers possibly:
When Lois and Kelce's characters first meet she remarks on the rose garden, and he says something along the lines of that's not for us. I think he may be a psychopomp. I also think that's why he met her daughter, she's no longer with us, either.

Ugh, I have so many theories, haha. I definitely think Father Charlie has some connection to Grotesquerie, but I don’t think he’s Grotesquerie. His character is desperate to draw believers to the Church, and I feel like something supernatural is going on, and he knows that sleeping with Sister Megan is part of that apocalypse or plan Grotesquerie has to bring more people to the church. That’s why he feels so conflicted: on one hand, his sexual desire, but also the intention to stay true to his vows. Because why her specifically, right? She's super devout, and on top of that, she's working closely with Lois. Tempting a nun like her, who's so innocent and even childlike, he knew she’d be the one to fall into sin. The lamb falling into temptation. I mean, what could be more severe than a Priest and a Nun having sex?
The scene with Sister Megan acting possessed reminds me of that iconic scene from Possession, also similar to the scene in The First Omen where Margaret goes through this sort of possession and ends up pregnant. To me, it's a representation of sin truly taking hold of her.
I don’t think Ed Laclan (Kelcey) is real. Like, I can’t remember any scenes where he interacts with other characters besides Lois and her daughter. But I think he talks to someone when he brings food to Lois’s husband’s room? Plus, we have to keep in mind that Lois isn’t a reliable character: she sleeps very little and drinks a lot. Her reality could easily be distorted by alcohol. Doesn’t that happen to all of us when we’ve had too much to drink? Imagine if you were drinking 24/7.
I also think the nurse represents something... but I’m not sure what yet haha.
I think, for now, the show is heading in an apocalyptic direction, and all these murders are steps leading up to that, including the thing with the nun and the priest. And now that you mentioned it could be some kind of limbo or purgatory, it totally makes sense.

The nurse was so weird being pulled from an early 1920 show with an accent that shouldn’t exist in america in modern time. Travis sounded like gambit from wolverine and Deadpool when introduced it felt like a romcom but the color grading kept adding an orange filter and the writing slowed down so much it really just felt like a chore watching this I’m ok if this gets cancelled

I think the show did a really good job with the scene where she's describing the scene of the crime, especially when she gets to the part about the baby. I kept finding myself wondering why she was getting away with telling this random nun everything, wish they'd figured out a better way to incorporate the nun into her storyline but again I only saw the first ep. i must say they did good making it 30 mins not 45 in the last two eps; also it drags on a LOT with scenes that don't really have much substance, like the part that was all red, useless arguments with the nurse (shes not surreal enough yet absolutely bizzare to be actually real ugh) etc. tho I appreciate the cinematography and the religious themes, for a show that doesn't do much with the profiling of a murderer, or the investigation at all (like why??) the first ep really traumatized me ngl... the priest is fire tho I agree /// to be honest, idk where this show is going, I'm afraid it will fall flat and that it' s written with a "oh this would be cool/this would be sick" in mind, but I want to think better of the writers, but so far in the show it seems like the creators are not sure what they are doing with it, so it will be a whim

For me the nurse is so- out of place and then travis feeling so out of place, but just strange and random.
Having those two weird characters made me think the hospital was in her head. Plus the white door and garden scene and when he said "were not allowed to go out there." (Does the garden symbolize death, passing on, or heaven...and the people in the hospital can't go because they are sinners?? Idk fr,..or her subconsciously talk to her idk). Also the nurse always speak on the staff hating the main character since she acts up Everytime, but honestly I barely seen that and barely if not no staff.
But then i remember travis interacted with her daughter and i believe her daughter talked about the dad in a coma, so i think my few minute confused theory was wrong. 😂
Side note : told my friend about this show so far as of today. And she had a fun theory- that the nun interacting with the father Charlie each time makes her closer to possession and maybe the world cracking. Since I told her of the nun looking like she was frantic and getting possessed in the hallway after the interaction, then the fire hole ep.
