    You would have been a great guest speaker at the American Mold show being conducted in Rosemont, Illinois this week!

    very cool as usual! - i wonder if you could put a hole in the bottom of and pull a slight vacuum on the secondary mold instead of filling with sand.

      I suspect that would be possible

    Looks awesome! Maybe try varying the wall thickness of the lowest vertical portion of the container. If the lowest corner was thicker maybe it could increase the bottom rigidity?

    interesting challenge! what would be your lesson to make it work straigtht out the mold? redesigning the 3d-model, eg. with somehow different corners or wall thicknesses?

    What about a higher shore rated silicone maybe an 80 or 100 ?

  • @SID07Designs

    Why not use a harder silicone with only first one of your two molds and design the hinges to be thinner to facilitate the folding/collapsing, instead of using two molds?

    What is the difference between the silicone used in this video and the silicone a builder would use in a silicone gun for caulking, say sealing the glass panels in a shower? Just curious. I obviously don't know enough about this stuff. :-)

    • @EricStrebel
      @EricStrebel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The silicone builder would use is one component and just dries with the air the silicone that I use is two component and cures when you mix the two together

    Watching you put that un-popped popcorn in that collapsible container gave me an idea, this could be either a crazy or dumb idea so don't try to slap me thru TH-cam, lol.........make an expandable container out of food safe silicone to make pop corn in.........kind of like the old "Jiffy Pop" trays.
