    Always keep the digital volume at max.
    Messing always keep the Bluetooth and transmitter volume at max due to it digital.
    Only place you’re supposed to change volume is on your radio due to it amplifying an analog signal.
    As long as it’s digital, it doesn’t get distorted. By trying to amplify a “quiet” signal when it’s converted to analog by the DAC in your radio will introduce unnecessary noise.

    • @GrossTechnology
      @GrossTechnology  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Mikkel Nielsen this is somewhat true, but you do not want to be amplifying the “digital signal” as you say, if it is distorted and by maxing that volume out it will distort. You never want to volume to be 100% on anything. But yes you want to only be adjusting the volume in the car not both.

    • @Mikkel111
      @Mikkel111 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      No. On the source you always want 100% volume. If it’s distorted, then it’s audio file itself.
      No matter what, to preserve as much quality as possible, always keep the digital part of your chain at 100% and then only adjust after conversion to analog.
      The only way you can distort the digital signal is by digitally amplifying the signal aka. boosting the signal. But then it’s not 100% but 100+x%

      Mikkel Nielsen Totally agree with you, Mikkel..

    • @peterpixo
      @peterpixo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      And who told you, that the transmitted singal is digital? :)
      Only DAB radio is digital, but this product is for sure sending analog singnal to the radio.

    • @Mikkel111
      @Mikkel111 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      peterpixo No. That’s not how it works.
      The signal is still digital, just sent over an analog medium. Just like Ethernet.
      FM is between 87,5 and 108 MHz. That’s 87,5000000 Hz to 108000000 Hz. If that was dlrectly amplified, nothing would be able to percieve that and the speakers wouldn’t even be able to move that fast nor could the amp switch that fast.

    In order to find the best station, turn the FM transmitter off (or unplug it) and find the station with the most static and least music or other broadcasts. That's the best one to use with the transmitter because it's the one that has the least amount of interference.

    • @GrossTechnology
      @GrossTechnology  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah the problem is always when you are driving around that station may not be great like it was. But you can’t help this.

    dawg u gotta set the thing to a station that only has static so that way its clear once the bt device is transmitting thru that station

    • @GrossTechnology
      @GrossTechnology  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, but when you drive to a new area the station may be taken and be used, just hard to find one that will work in all the states I travel in.

      @@GrossTechnology A video I watched said that if you make your radio go into international mode it can go down into the low 80s and that causes less static and interference

    Are these ideal for a large city like LA,SF,NYC? I live in Los Angeles and I don’t even know if there are any available stations that are free

    • @GrossTechnology
      @GrossTechnology  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a good point. And unfortunately one I can't answer, I don't live in that large of a city, so not an issue here. With that said, I would imagine you are correct, either none available nor ones not used by others. But a lot of these have an AUX out as well that you can pair your phone to it bluetooth and then use the AUX cable to hook it to your system in the car. That would be the best option for places like that. Hope that helps!

      Gross Technology thank you, I actually downloaded an app that finds open FM stations and it found three. I’m just going to order it off Amazon and if it doesn’t work I’ll return it.

    Run a wire from the antenna solder point in the fm transmitor to the antenna connector in the back of the head unit. Strip about 3 inchs off the wire solder it to the antenna plug wrap it around the antenna plug and reinstall everything. As long as the stations free there will never be static no matter the volume level.

    • @GrossTechnology
      @GrossTechnology  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a good idea, but I will say that if I'm doing that, I might as well just run an AUX cable and not even use the Transmitter... that is if the head unit has an AUX connection in the back.

    how to change folders when the fm transmitter is working on a CF card

    • @GrossTechnology
      @GrossTechnology  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will have to check but I’m almost positive you can’t. You have to have all the songs just out in the main directory of the card, not in folders.

    As easy to use as these transmitters are, I ultimately found is easier in the long term to install an FM modulator. It's more work, as you have to take the stereo unit out, and hook up the modulator to the power, ground, and install it inline with the antenna. But it allows you to add a permanent AUX source to your stereo.
    Because it connects to the antenna wire directly, you're less likely to have to fight with other stations in your area broadcasting on that same frequency.
    I rarely get interference with mine, except in a single spot where I live. Otherwise, it's just like having a factory AUX input.

      Wowwhat an amazing idea man! So, u solder this somewhere into the car radio or something? I’m planning to buy an ’98 Chrysler Stratus with only cassette (which I will use) but no cd or aux. What would be the best u think? Find a replacement radio with all the stuff plus aux or do some kind of quick diy fix? Lmk! Much appreciated

    • @thesilentobserver93
      @thesilentobserver93 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@passsacaglia - Probably better off replacing the whole unit with something more modern, unless you are really attached to the older stereo for some reason.
      However, the way it would work with the modulator is that you'd install it in the same spot on your stereo that your radio antenna hooks up.
      You'll have to look it up, but there are plenty of videos on TH-cam showing how to do this.

    Head unit is the best quality sound. Bass, acoustics, and drums is crystal clear. capacitive screen touch, wireless. spotify, Netflix , you tube, 5.0 bluetooth, internet great for long drives. Kenwood, pioneer and the like. its a good investment. i can park my car in a deep 3rd level basement and you can still have radio reception. not the DAB though. DAB+ is better FM reception if youre in the city. amazing music. great in speed driving. country too. scans very fast

    Broski it depends on where you live. I live in a place with not many stations and it sounds 100% perfect

    • @GrossTechnology
      @GrossTechnology  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That does have an effect on it as well, but the issue I was talking about with the noise was because of how loud you have to have the device before you can hear it. Once you find a station that is all, but the amp from the transmitter isn't great which makes you have to push the volume too high.

    Is there a AUX cord hole?

    • @GrossTechnology

      Yes it takes a regular male headphone cable. So you’d need a male to male cable to plug into this and the other end into your phone or anything else.

      Yes the location of the outlet is an issue, but that is something companies that make things like this should be thinking of or at least think of cars that have a manual shift, wouldn't work in any car that is a manual.
