Apologies all, this video was edited on a loud speaker and there mustve been an accidental pan on the audio before being exported 😭 will try to not let that happen again!
@@NiKiMa023 The "blah blah blah" sounded dismissive to the op, and too many people actually have that mindset, so no, the sarcasm was not clear through text alone.
In 2016 Mike Flanagan and his wife Kate Siegal wrote a movie called Hush. It starred Kate Siegal as Maddie. In the movie she plays a deaf author. In the beginning of the movie she invites her closest neighbor over, who wants to return a book to Maddie. The neighbor is played by Samantha Sloyan. She puts the book down on a table on the porch. The name of the book is Midnight Mass. Move to another Mike Flanagan film, Gerald's Game. On the nightstand in this movie is a copy of the book Midnight Mass. Onto the show Midnight Mass and Kate Siegal (Flanagan wife) plays Erin and Samantha Sloyan plays Bev Keane.
Hush was the first thing I ever stumbled upon from Flanagan (and Kate), a ways before any of these great shows and I just wanna backup that shoutout. Hush was great. Samantha Sloyan (aka "Bev Keane" 😱here in Midnight Mass) was also in Hush 🙃
As someone who isn’t religious at all your commentary on the church scenes are cracking me up. “You had me at ‘Jesus said put out’” “done!” 😂 “And to dust we shall return” “is that a threat?!” Lmao I’ve never hated a character more than I hated Bev. Not that it was a mystery but you can see it’s her dress when the doggie gets the hot dog.
I love how this show does not disrespect religion (christianity specifically) like a lot of tv shows and movies do trying to be edgy and morons. This series will show all the good and bad of religion. But without direspecting it, if not they show the reality of it. When i finished this show i had like a reality crisis lol
@@rexibhazoboa7097 Yes it does. Disrespecting something makes you a rude person lacking basic manners, you are insulting the belief because you don't believe in it. In that case, you are a moron.
First, mocking religion doesn't make you a moron like that other comment said. There's plenty to make fun of. Also, this is Catholic Church, everything represented in here is Catholic, you don't even know what you're talking about. I know because I've been to Christian Church and it's nothing like this and I grew up being a part of a chorus on a Catholic Church and it's exactly like this
Little problem with Left audio channel I guess, sounds like a plug in problem. Anyway, I don't comment very often, so I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you that you're probably my favorite reactors couple, seems we got same tastes and same sens of humour. Thanks.
I watched your reaction series for The Last of Us, so I was so excited to see this reaction series to Midnight Mass now! Since The Fall of the House of Usher came out a few months ago, I’ve been revisiting and binging on Mike Flanagan stuff. That man is an off-the-charts genius - writing and directing. He’s knocked it out of the park with multiple series, but Midnight Mass is arguably his very best work. It blends religion and horror in an unexpected, unique way; the dialogue is riveting and thought-provoking; and the actors deliver on it and make you feel soooo many things (from rage, to sympathy/heartbreak, to frustration, to pride). Please really pay attention to the scenes between Hamish Linklater (Father Paul) and Zach Gilford (Riley). The writing in their scenes is particularly outstanding, and the actors are *chef’s kiss*. Can’t wait for you guys to work your way through this. And please do stay on the Flanagan train and jump right into The Fall of the House of Usher immediately after this for Horror Mondays! You don’t have to be familiar with Poe’s work to appreciate it and enjoy it, but there’s sooooo much to geek out over if you are. 😂
First, your commentary is the best in the universe. Bev is the worst. Mind you, I watched thos episode about a year after someone poisoned my old fifteen year old dog. So, let's just say, if I found Bev off-putting in episode one, this made her irredeemable.
The only times i have ever had the blood of chirst is my confirmation and on my wedding day. We had our own chalce and the priest had his. We dont have it at every mass because that would be a lot of cups 😂 We dont drink it at mass just the priest. But for all i know small comunities do it could be plausable. Solem ash Wednesday everyone and happy Valentine's day. The womam who plays Bev is excellent in this i have never disliked someone in a show so much. She would be the fake christian. She can quote scripture but she doesnt live it she is cruel and a hypocrite.
Oh my god, the right-leaning audio pan with this video had me stressing thinking my headphones were fucked 😱 But then I tested with Spotify and it's not my headphones. Whew! Edit: This episode was a freakin riot, yall. You two are hilarious LMAO

We shall accept your humble recompense in the form of a double-feature release. *Right everybody?* :D
Actually it was nice knowing that my right speaker works properly, I've wondered and noticed with your video that everything's ok. God's plan!
I just thought it was clever editing cause I usually only noticed it when either of you said fuck lol
It's kind of hard for Riley to just get a job after spending time in prison for killing someone while drunk driving...

This. You beat me to it.
I also sang "The Night is dark and full of terror" at that moment. When Bridget sang it, I laughed my ass off.
You guys picked up on a lot more then many other reactors I've watched with this show
I think you all would enjoy Midnight Club (also a Flanagan show). It’s underrated amongst his other works.
