- The VW Polo in our opinion is the last great analogue driving that has been sold in India. Its 10+ year stint in India has been rather long, but the love is still there for this amazing pocket rocket especially in the 1.0 TSI MT trim. This particular 1.0 TSI has been boosted to Stage 2 complete with a turboback exhaust system, new air filter and SuperChips Stage 2 remap. Since you cannot buy it new anymore, the Polo is only available in the used car market but, is still a really desirable car! i20 nline turbo engine is tuned by Hyundai for efficiency. Instead of 120PS/172NM mentioned on paper officially, it produces only 110PS/164 NM at the wheels(tested at the dyno in Bangalore). Hence it is a second or two slower than the stock polo TSI. This is a sales tactic as nobody would complain if its a second slower but would be disastrous if it gives 3-4 kmpl less.
Then go and buy don't cry here
Just a humble mention that companies always mention crank figures and no one mentions whp and wtorque. It's not just Hyundai, it's with every brand on the planet

They didn’t even try with the new Polo. All the actual legendary status the Polo got was due to the mod community. Atleast Hyundai is trying to give something diff here. Previously only Fiat with the Abarth & Ford with the Figo sport tried. VW was busy with being the one eyed king in a blind kingdom.
VW had a great car in 2010-15 after that they just stopped giving it meaningful upgrades. The DSG was problematic, but in VW fashion they continued to dump it here for many gullible peeps to have buyers remorse. Then crucially they didn’t even upgrade the issue prone suspension setup which would give up within 60-80k for many. Infact later in it’s cycle the Polo was getting worse components. The less said abt the “GT” the better, the laziness in it’s execution was evident.
Yes it is a safer car, but the chassis was not done justice by VW one bit. Just like how Tata is handling the Altroz today (VW was atleast better than Tata though). The engine is a gem agreed but it was nowhere as good a car on the whole in its stock form as is made out to be by common folks.
But this vw 1.0tsi is so efficient too.... when u apply throttle sedately it will rewards you....
Lol, that's the case with almost every car brand. Test the Polo on a dyno, it would also produce lesser power and torque than what is written in paper. Polo is better, faster and safer than the i20. These Hyundai fankids and their illogical comments.😵💫
I purchased my polo with a 1L turbo in November 2020. Thinking of my next car already gives me nightmares as there is no car comparable to this one in the Indian market (unless you shell some $$$$$)

Get the Polo diesel 1.5 gt comes with 110bhp and 250nm stock, checks the real men drive with 3 pedals box, is a hoot to drive due to the more planted front end from the engine, the torque makes it pull like a train, gets 20-23kmpl on highways and a constant 15kmpl in the city no matter how heavy your foot is. Stage one this beast and you are already well past stage 2 figures for the 1L tsi and still gets close to 20km to the litre. Wats more to ask for. You could also get the 1.6 diesel for the polo (the best budget hot hatch to ever set foot in India in my opinion, Thanks to the monstrous initial pull) but you could have concerns over the 10year diesel deadline. However the 1.5 was produced up until 2019 so no worries in that department too.

Stage 2 will beat 1.5 virtus Gt also In drag race bcoz of power to weight ratio n torque converter produces less lag compared to dsg .. till 160 polo will be ahead then comes virtus gt

It ll be even more boring.. because those crdi engines are coming with maximum potential out of factory. If tuned then there is higher chance of breakdown. And moreover Hyundai is not fun car to drive..so the power has to matched to chassis stability which is non existent in Hyundai cars.
Final point is car enthusiasts and driving lovers don't buy Hyundai...so if someone finds a tuning software then selling it will be difficult..
Kinda sad that u guys call yourself a car enthusiasts channels but says the polo 1.0 is a better car than nline… sure the polo stock even is faster than the nline in a straight line but a car enthusiast is someone who loves the curves more than a straight road and please take the nline n polo out onto a twisty benty roads and see how much better the nlines steering feedback is and how good the suspension is and how good the brakes are. The nline gives a much better driving experience while the polos rear drum brakes fade away really fast when u push the car through bends and the suspension is too soft nd the car has bad body roll, the steering is centre heavy thats it but has no feedback. Plus keeping in mind the dct is nline is way better than the torque converter in the polo. U even talk about sound system 😂 listen to the bose system in the nline.

Exactly, these are points left out conveniently. I think you’ll keep breaking something every other month 😂
Basically the first part to get affected is your transmission if it’s a torque converter/dsg, dsg ones are more prone to things going wrong. Stock transmissions can handle a certain amount of power to an extent but wear out after time, especially the 1.2 litres dsg gets worn out pretty easily with a stage 2 map in some cases if the tcu isn’t tuned in relation to the car.

You should def change the suspension system coz it sucks tbh ... I believe it comes with 6 speed manual transmission so I don't think you need to make any trans upgrade ...

Can you highlight shortcoms of tuning like durability of engine, water pump, timing chain issues, malfunction of sensors, and so on
I have tuned my 2018 polo tsi 1.0 comfortline for over a year (stage 1) the car is still running smoothly to date I never had any problems with it everything is normal also did a res delete no sensors issues whatsoever
The 1.0 tsi was released in India in 2020 only Duh
@@autopal7 The 1.0 non turbo was on sale in India from many years broh with 75 hp and god knows what torque figures I guess 95NM.. That was on sale in trendline comfortline and highline only the GT was tha only one to get 1.2 TSI.. He must be talking about this motor as my guess

Stage 2 superchips remap with a full exhaust from N1 racing.

@@Realdev6 before the tune i used to get around 11.5. after the tune + exhaust i am getting around 10. but i rev the car more since the exhaust
I have a point. I am convinced that Polo is a great car but if you buy your first car in spite of the fact that you are an enthusiast or whatsoever. One more reality check kicks in which is SPACE. not every day only 2 people are going to sit and be in the car and travel, if you are living with a family, 4 or 5 people would sit frequently and that's where things are going to hurt you. That's why i went with FIAT. No doubt Polo is great but people like me who are 6ft or above know the reality check better. :)

Although the polo is based on Pq05 platform , that is sheerly german , but post the advent of India 2.0 strategy from VW. The upkeep of this car is really really low. With more number of child parts and lndia manufactured spares the costs are sheerly down by 35% to the least. So yes ! If you wish to go for it , it is completely hassle free. Saying as an VW user from years.
Can you do power upgrade on Ford Freestyle 1.2 Petrol ??
It's not worth doing it bro .... If you look at power to performance you might hardly gain 20 HP or you have to install a turbo which I don't recommend.

Good luck with that 1.0tsi engine, you'll need it. In Europe these VAG 1.0tsi engines are notorious for their reliability issues, Hyundai/Kia are way ahead of the Germans in terms of their warranty and reliability. German "quality" is a complete myth 😂
Sound more like an after market mods salesman than a car enthusiast, being an enthusiast your main focus should be on appreciating the vehicle rather than trying to convince your audience to buy a second hand polo every time you speak.

VW are known for unreliablity just search in team bhp threads you will see VW cars are on the top of the list with injector issues(TDI),Abs sensor issues(Common),coolant issues(Common),DSG Gear box failing(TSI)!!

i20 is a cute car though. The only thing is it’s has been is JUST cute all these years making it NO WHERE NEAR TO The POLO TSI. Performance wise and dynamically it was pretty useless as compared to the POLO.
N-Line can be a competition to the regular i20 but never close the VW POLO because for Hyundai’s Portfolio in the Indian Market, this is the first performance oriented product to be brought by them.
Still not at all close to VW POLO. In terms of driving dynamics, engine performance and looks of course, POLO has the crown and it ain’t giving it to the Korean Lad for sure.
The newer version of i20 is definitely not going to age well like the POLO did. They have overdone it, badly.
