Figuring out health insurance was one of my biggest hurdles when I was between jobs a few years back. I figured the COBRA option would be easiest but as soon as I saw the cost it was like nah I guess I'll look elsewhere

I think most importantly people who quit their jobs without backup is to have enough savings for at least 1 year, rent, utilities etc.
