If you ever wonder why this episode played better than most modern action movies, it's because this episode was directed by Justin Lin. Yes, Fast and Furious director Justin Lin.
@i'm only here for the beer watch tokyo drift as a stand alone movie, you'll probably like it, it's a great movie on itself, just not a good addition to the franchise.
Cause it's an obvious parody of certain movie scenes and dialogues, right? Please don't tell me you're interpreting this as some real kind of profound moment shit.
I love that reference to the movie The Warriors at 0:49. Dan Harman made two of the most iconic pop culture TV Show of the 21st century (this one and Rick and Morty).
seeing this scene again after so many years i only realized now that shirley was probably doing a reference from The Boondock Saints before she gets shot lol
@@GustavoTiavo yeah i did a rewatch its not exact but im sure this kind of was inspired by Boondock Saints (and partially Pulp Fiction because of the tone of the verse) imo
@@taintedtapper Could very well be inspired by those movies, but the religious badass type is a pretty common movie trope, so I think it's just a play on that in general.
yeah, that blood thing, will be referenced in the last seasons, when he meets his Father. He stabbed himself, to say he had surgery, so everyone would think he was cool, because he was starving for attention...
This episode had the regular Community comedy, real character development, romance, action. How did they manage to fit all this in a 20 minute episode? Incredible writing.
Community isn't listed on her IMDB, when this episode aired she was established enough of an actress she would've been credited. It's just another hispanic actress that looks similar enough to confuse you. I know at least one family member on the hispanic side of my family that squinting I could mistake for her.
Funny enough but the official Community channel doesn’t have the full rights to post their own work online. I guess that’s just the weird world of copyright law
I tried to watch Community, I only made it through half of the second episode of S1 before I gave up. Then again, I've been binging Parks & Recreation clips with the funniest bits but could not even watch 2 episodes.
Season 4 spoiler for those who haven't watched it yet: the blood is actually coming out of a scar that he reveals in episode 5 of season 4, and how he said he pretended to have apendicitis
I always laugh at the "I'm going home Britta" part.

I honestly thought she meant she was going to heaven not actually going home

Wow, meaningful dialogue/development, badass action sequence, comedy, and an emotional send off in less than 3 minutes. That's some tight filmmaking.
just imagine how good it would be when they finally make the movie
@@dohwonkim2495 it better include some form of paintball
It's all meant to be a movie parody. Hope you're not forgetting that... And yeah it's genius
@@OfficialAnarchyz oh yeah of course, but even then it's done better with less time and budget than what it's parodying
Even more than that they slipped in a Warriors and Pulp Fiction reference too
At 1:05 I really thought Shirley was so badass just rehearsing a verse in the bible while shooting others
Wasn't that a refference to Boondock Saints?
It wasnt a reference to pulp fiction?

Lmao you guys. It is also a Bible verse. Psalm 23.
"A verse in the Bible" lol Psalm 23

abed has slaughtered many men, much of them in cold blood
i have pictures of him pissing on afghan soldiers

Action movies were at there prime in the 80's and 90's. Most modern day action just doesnt understand
