El Diablo vs Ra is one of those basement tapes where only a very low quality gif was released on the battlebots webpage, I haven't been able to find a good enough quality copy to verify, but it wasn't an aired fight.
i wondered if ultimo destructo could actually do something so looking up another fight it turns out... not much i geuss. its overal weak build, to long to be manueverable and its flipper is underwhelming.

The way to counter it would be to wrap your machine in a cocoon of Aramid fibres, the stuff they use inside chainsaw trousers (or make ERA type boxes full of it) they would jam up the flywheel and stop it in a second. Rigid armour is a bad idea.
Such an armour is specifically prohibited. It's the same rule that prohibit the use of nets. A weapon or defence is not allowed to snag the other robot. Your proposed armour concept it to snag the opponent's weapon.

I am not sure that soft armor would necessarily count, it would probably get taken as a special case and considered, but yeah I wouldn't show up with that after spending a lot of money on it and just expect it to sail past their judges.
