    I is interesting to see how far home reloading has come. In the 1970's I worked for Markell Inc. in San Francisco, we were an ammunition and bullet manufacturer for police departments on the west coast. We loaded 38 special on Ammo Load machines. The Mark 7 systems are much better in design and easier to work on. The one feature where I see opportunity for improvement is the powder measure hopper. The Mark 7 powder measure is similar to many of the progressive adaptable powder measures. They should consider using a larger, shorter but wider powder hopper which could hold much more powder. Keeping primers in the Ammo Load was a constant chore, we had an automatic primer tube feeder much like the Dillon models and emptying primer trays and refilling tubes was one of the constant chores along with loading tubes full of cast wadcutters into the machine.

      I'd like a auto or crank case processing for rifle brass (223, 300 Blackout) to just deprime, resize, swage, trim, and prime. I don't like to prime and charge on the same progressive press.
      I just got brave and moved my 223, 300 Blackout, and 300 HAM'R dies from my Lee CTP to my Lee Auto Breech Lock Pro.
      The CTP is so smooth and easy, but I need to make more rounds in the time I have available than the CTP can produce.
      Everything is running running smoothly on ABLP but there's a lot more to pay attention to at one time.

      Plus 6.67 hours OT, ha. I wonder if that kind of speed makes the movement from station to station too jerky for good quality control? Or messes with the bullet seating as the cases sway back and forth? Hopefully not but it has got to be an issue at some speed.

    We need some kind of primer feeder and tube system that takes primers straight from the trays and flips them etc....something where you just take the tray of primers out of the box and dump them all in a hopper, or insert tray after tray into a feeder that holds 1000 plus primers. I can dream can't I?

    • @freekshow0011
      @freekshow0011 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably wouldn't be to hard to setup a stand and have one of the DAA primer pro's constantly feeding the primer tube. To bad they only make the primer pro for small primers

    • @cfbrooks610
      @cfbrooks610 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, Mark 7 has two auto-primer setups, primer express and one for the revolution press, but for those of us not lucky enough to have that kind of money, Gavin actually reviewed the Double Alpha primer pro which at least loads primer tubes for you a while ago that looks pretty cool, and cheaper than the Dillon RF100 primer.

    • @almostalphas
      @almostalphas 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Not ideal for competitive shooting but those of us who just want to shoot half minute and hunt a few times a year might find significant savings? Especially if we got 5 or 6 firings without having to size. Roberson is one of the companies I'm thinking about. Interesting topic? I'm curious.

Doesn't make sense to spend thousands to save 10 hours of effort when it's going to take me 50 hours to shoot that much ammo.
