Many wealthy individuals maintain their wealth by adopting frugal spending habits similar to those of the less affluent. They also prioritize continuous investment, whereas some poorer individuals tend to spend extravagantly without focusing on long-term investments, often attempting to impress those who are already wealthy.

Exactly! My grandparents were so frugal but they had a TON of money on both sides. I remember my grandfather telling me "you want to make money while you sleep." And I guess that attitude passed down to my dad (RIP), because I remember going to his house one day and I had bought something I really liked, so I wanted to show it to him. So I said "Look at this!
Isn't it cute? It was on sale...I saved 50%!" My dad replied "Well, if you're spending, you're not saving." Obviously I had no retort, and that has always stuck with me.

Saving and investing wisely while prioritizing necessities and a few small luxuries in relation to one's total assets is a great approach. This is a by product of capitalism, it can be seen in every aspect of amarican business at this point. The idea that a company should be able to grow indefinitely is an unrealistic expectation that causes industry to cut quality in the pursuit of 5% more profit. And next year they will need to find a way to cut an extra 5% on top of that, and so on forever. Eventually you reach the max number of customers you can get. It's the only way to "grow" after that

Keep charging more and more and as far as I am concerned ALL these slow food places can close. They aren't fast food anymore judging by how long you wait for your expensive order. White Castle around my parts are THE slowest places when placing and getting an order. Not unusual to wait a minimum 10 - 15 minutes in line at the drive thru or even going in and ordering.

I've read the $5 meal might be something like a double cheeseburger, fries and a soft drink. How much difference is that from buying the items separately? In-N-Out in my part of the world (Calif.) has the meal menu (1, 2, or 3). They're the same price as if bought separately. The #2 (cheeseburger, fries and drink), is about $8.75 (plus tax) in L.A. It's their equivalent to a Big Mac Meal. It went up about 15 cents when the $20 minimum wage started. No biggie. It's not some big catastrophe that political commentators were barfing about.

Mc Donald's shoulda adapted to the high inflation situation long time ago, to secure consumer loyalty among its lowest income demographic. This would ensure higher traffic, stable income stream and a more sustainable future. Waiting to the point where you see a decline on your earnings, is a huge strategic error and created alot of missed opportunities. Mc Donalds should strive for services that satisfy a diverse audience, even if that means offering menus at a loss. Short term losses can drive longterm profits.

McDonald's is becoming expensive! Many of the customers are low-income, and McDonald's is a cheaper option for food vs. healthy food. It used to be that it was cheaper for a low-income families to buy McDonald's for every meal (hello, obesity) than buying groceries. With McDonald's becoming more expensive I wonder what low-income consumers are eating. Our world is so screwed up.
