Hello Sara, if you watch my video: The fastest and the most effective way to propagate Orchid Cactus, you will know what kind of fertilizers......please watch that video... In that video, I mix potting soil, with perlite, with orchid bark, chicken manure, little epsom salt.... You also can fertilize with All purpose fertilizer from Miracle Grow....After 2 years old, in spring you should use Super Bloom, or More Bloom fertilizers.... Good luck Sara .

I have 2 plants that are so overgrown. The bottom 3 feet of the plants are sticks. A few of the branches are over 8' tall.. If I trim them way back I fear no blooms this year. How should I trim them? Thanks!

Nice. Do you have any problems with fugus? I have one small plant and fugus keeps growing. i tried to use fugus spray and it does not work. how do you prevent fugus?

Hi @@THIENNHATQUYNH great advice !! By the way I propagated like you did on your video. You're a great teacher; my cuttings are doing well. I repotted the mother into orchid bark, sandy soil, some vermiculite and top with fresh rabbit manure the plant is doing so well oh and every 15 -20 days feeding it "Succulent Plant Food" -(orange pump bottle) Miracle Grow. Had 3 brown spots gone. Again thank you so very much.

First,, you should repot your plant,,,good soil mix with coconut coils, chicken manure, cow manure, and some bark tree... whatever you use to make good soil mix with nutrients and easy to drain. Second,,, use fertilizer with height phosphorus P....,,,that high P, will give plants enough energy to form buds

The reason I have to train them to grow upward because I have to many plants, each plant can be 6-7 feet wide... Not enough space for that. I bought bamboo sticks at Home Depot, I cut to 4 feet , put deep in soil, I only tied the leaves grow wide , help them grow upward... the leaves grow downward, I leave them alone.....quite simple...
