I first saw Orchid Cacti when I visited my friend in El Cajon, California. You see the Orchid Cacti everywhere in Southern CA. I live in Ozark, AL and brought back a couple of plants about five years ago. I have never seen another Orchid Cactus in Alabama. It is a shame as they are really easy to grow and have such beautiful flowers. I love them. Thanks for your informative video!

There is excessive calcium, magnesium and boron deficiency. Gypsum for calcium, dolomite for magnesium, boric acid for boron ( 1 grams per 10 liters of water) 3 times a year. February, July, November.

Been a few weeks since i cut my leaves up like you described, propped the 5 cuttings in water and its already forming strong roots! There doesn't seem to be any failed cuttings.

I have 2 options, the air conditioned house at about a constant 27 degrees Celsius, or in our sunroom, which varies between 21- 35 degrees Celsius right now.

Hello! I love your videos! I have a question, after you have rooted them in water, how far into the soil shound i put them?

Those aren't leaves they are stems, these are true cacti that grow up in the trees in rain forests where leaf litter collects or on rocky cliffsides in the cracks. They don't have actual leaves, what remains of the "leaves" are the nodes in the notches in the stems. Cacti aren't all just desert plants there are some atypical members that grow in rain forests, mountainous regions and arid grasslands.

Hello Everyone how are you. I have just put some cuttings in to three lots of tap water. One is normal tap water and one is tap water with Aloe Vera in it and one with tap water and some aquarium water in it let's see which one win's 😀.

Hi, can I ask for advice on what to do with my koi fish? It is a bit sick because of the aquarium water, so in the process of getting him out of the aquarium, he was aggressive and got a few scars from it. We transferred it to our pond outside, and the water is a bit cold compared to the aquarium's water temperature. The koi is now upside down like the koi in your video.
