Having trouble with your graphics card (GPU) ? I will show you how to Troubleshoot and diagnose graphics card problem. Here are 5 signs your graphics card may be dying.
* Stuttering and Freezing, you may be suffering with Stuttering when playing games
* Screen Glitches, when gaming or pushing the card, you may experience, screen tearing or glitches on the screen.
* Strange Artifacts, while gaming or using the pc, you may start to see strange coloured artifacts on the screen.
* Blue screens, random BSOD can happen whether its a Nvidia or AMD GPU, blue screen of death can be a sign or a bad card or driver issue.
* Fan Noise and High Temps, sometimes when system is idle and weather is not that hot, you can experience high temps and really loud fan noise.

@@minustooth did you overclock it? Mine was too overclocked and it looked like artifacting, but I bumped it from 300 down to 100 and it worked fine

@@louieggg213 Nope, cables only deliver information from the card to the monitor. That sounds more like a graphics card issue since thats hardware level

I've been seeing artifacts in almost all games so I made a clean install of the drivers but now it refuses to open the Radeon software or any games. It freezes, giving me a black screen with no sound
I was also experiencing some issues with my GPU. I'd be trying to play a game such as GTA V and every time I would go into the part to look at the map it would become very very laggy. Or even at times in gameplay I would get this like weird blurry color effect on the screen and it would look blurry in the colors would look really vibrant and on top of that the games FPS would drop way below 30 FPS. Now this graphics card is capable of playing GTA V at vary high settings and about 80 to 90 FPS usually. So I thought the problem may have been the GPU. So I decided to pop in my old GPU start up the game now that's GPU generally plays the game at around 50 FPS my old GPU but the funny thing is all of the stuttering and the weird color facts and going into the map was all gone on this GPU. But then I noticed that the driver was on a different version for this GPU but yet they're both the same an Nvidia GPU just one is a GTX 1050 and the other is a GTX 1060 6GB card. So then I popped back in the GTX 1060 and the same thing continues to happen. So I decided to uninstall the driver and try to run it on the driver that it came with out of the box which is like 388 I believe as soon as I downgraded the driver to a older version all of my problems were gone after that. So I'm assuming it was the current driver that was causing my GPU to act weird and funny. Because after I deleted the driver ran an older driver all of a sudden my frame rates were back into the 80s and 90s again and everything was running as it was supposed to so I discovered my problem was a defective driver.
How did you get the old driver back ?
I'm getting Stuttering, Freezing, and Screen Glitches, while all my drivers and windows is updated to the max. Is this the only cause of this?
(I have an EVGA 1080 Ti SC Black Edition) I have only had it for around a year in a half.

easy way if you get random graphical glitches - boom there's a way to find out if it's either gpu or drivers.
when I connect the HDMI plug to my gpu, no display on the screen so, I changed gpu and checked the other gpu is working but nvidia gt 1030 is not working. Any solutions ?? by the way gpu is running(fan is working) but no display or any signals
Happened to me recently when changed my ram from 8gb to 16gb idk what could have cause this but it is strange I managed to get a signal by taking the GPU out and back in, also doing a hard reset or, in my case a complete factory reset if I had the chance to.
It might be that the port is dead. It’s been 5 months but if your main card is still there try getting a cable that you can refund later if it doesn’t work and try it on your gpu. Try a display port to dvi connector or something like that

Well in fact you don't know until you know. When you have a new graphics card you can test the maximum frequency it's stable. When it doesn't achieve it's original overclock anymore under the exact same conditions you know your GPU is degrading.
But be aware that the obvious isn't always obvious. A bad Powersupply or a bad PCI-express slot or a driver issue for example can also be the issue.
I've had an insane, yet stable OC on my GTX 1050, recently it started artifacting.
Everything was working fine on my pc for the longest, then out of nowhere when i tried to start american truck simulator it started to freeze multiple times when playing a few minutes. Eventually it started to just crash and go back to my desktop. Tried a few more games like fallout 4 and that game crashed back to the desktop once i loaded the game. Life is strange and City skylines froze on loading screen. Then i tried a couple games that dont take much juice from the gpu like south park stick of truth and space colony and they run fine so far. It only seems to be the more demanding games that arent working anymore. My pc is not connected to the internet so its not an update issue. Wondering if i should buy a new gpu 🙁

I have strix 1080ti and 600W PSU that is about 8 years old
I miss my old work station card. It was an Nvidea quadro 4000. Using it for computer modeling allowed my computer to cut down rendering time by atleast 25%. Its to bad that when i first bought it new, i totally forgot about reapplying a new layer of thermal compound which probably burnt out my gpu. Now i have an xfx rx570 8gb for work purposes but i do have to say my work station card peformed better but it wasnt much of a gaming card.

Ok, I have the weirdest issue with my GTX 1070 in my gaming laptop:
A few weeks ago I noticed some weird screen flashes and stripes only when playing graphically demanding 3d games.
Then, some games stopped working completely and gave me gpu related error messages during after starting them.
I reinstalled the drivers with ddu. Nothing changed.
Then I tried furmark and no extreme temperatures or glitches were noticable. Weirdly enough the the gpu max temperature while running furmark was only 65°C while the gpu gets much hotter playing newer 3d titles like assassins creed odyssey.
So i reinstalled windows, checked the mainboard drivers.
Still the same problem.
Even when I installed w10 on another drive, the problem remains.
What is noticeable though is the fact, that especially directx11 titles show graphical glitches and directx12 titles won't work at all.
3dmark benchmark showed this exact same pattern, with the dx12 benchmark just crashing after loading.
Still, if this was only software related, a system reinstall should've done it, right?
Since I still got warranty on the device I sent it to the manufacturer and they tested the system with furmark and used that to prove me, that the gfx card is fine.
How can this be? I can't run any 3d application EXCEPT furmark anymore because the graphical glitches make it unplayable or it will just crash or not start at all.
It's simply infuriating.

Yes, but most newer towers have both and 144 hz monitors require both.

ive been getting really bad fps dips when playing beamng lately. I usually average 40 fps with 4 other players, but now its been going as low as 15-4 fps for about 30 seconds (sometimes minutes) and then goes back up to 40 fps. I decided to open task manager and ran it to track performance and when i'd get the fps dip the GPU utilization would go from 70% to 20-15% and sometimes 0 and stay at 0. everything else seemed to be acting normal. at 0% the game was at 1 fps (not surprising lol). does this mean my gpu is dying or could it have something to do with windows?
so borderladns 3 ran fine a week ago, and GTA V didnt stutter every 5 mins a week ago. i hope my luck didnt run out.
Same I have a garbage graphics card (rx 460 lol) but it worked fine a couple days ago then all of the sudden my games were lagging really bad and suddenly my computers working in overdrive

I've been seeing a bit of ghosting, but I can tolerate that, even if it's annoying, but whats really starting to get to me is that it flickers to a black screen. It was happening only on one game, but just today it happened on another. Is that a dying gpu, or a driver issue, or maybe even an problem where it's not connected to the motherboard correctly?

@@stevenscummy1458 It was one of two things, my Xbox controller, I found a guy who said he was having the same issue and updating his controller's firmware stopped it. Or, it was an update needed for the motherboard. I updated the bios, the chipset drivers, etc. and it completely stopped.
I think firmware relates directly to the hardware itself right? I guess it could be that, but it was probably the motherboard needing an update.

have a GTX 960 which completely stopped working during sleep mode for some reason, never had a problem with it and now it won't show up anywhere on my computer. Not in the BIOS, not in Device Manager or even CPU-Z. I used DDU to clear out all Nvidia files and and do a reinstall but it says that the drivers can't find compatible hardware (Running Windows 10 btw). My 760 on the other hand works fine. So did Win 10 completely fubar this thing or can I bring it back?

I have MSI Rx570 8GB Armor paired with MSI B450i Gaming plus AC. My rig has been running for 5 months then suddenly i'm having boot/POST issues. I mean if I turn on I get no signal in the monitor. Then after turning on and off few times Im able to boot. Then during the weekend I cant boot anymore. Even how many retries. So i open the case and found the MSI board Ez Debug LED for VGA is on. I already did all the remedies and still no avail. This time just a black screen unlike before I still get the no signal in the monitor. Dont know if the GPU is faulty or the board or the PSU. Any ideas what it might be?
Getting D3D errors on every graphics intensive game but no weird graphical issues, the temperature is always below 78°C, did a ram test no errors, drivers are up to date, GPU is 2 years old, GTX 1660
It always says something along the lines of:
"D3D device not found! Use GetDeviceName to identify problem. Could not find event..."
On the benchmark it stopped at 79°C

My gtx950 fails when I set the graphic settings high. Besides that it's running fine on 1080p, low setting. Not sure if my GPU is dying or degrading :(

I have a brand new Zotac GTX1650 SUPER,. When i run Subnautica Below Zero, my Monitor just went into power save mode and then comeback and then back to save mode, over and over again, this also happens when loading into ARK. I also tried my card on my brother's setup and it also does the same thing when its trying to run a gpu intensive game. Any idea?
I just had a fairly new Pc built last year but had NOT actually used ( only powered up to load music production software ) until yesterday [ 20/04/24 ] while I was playing back some music I had created. I paused and went into TH-cam for musical help, found a useful vid then saw another and went to click on it. The second I did this the video froze then screen went entirely green then blackout. My led keyboard and Mouse did the same, so I waited a min or 2 and nothing. So I pressed the reset button hoping it was just a glitch, my led keyboard/mouse lit up but... not my screen. I swapped hdmi cables, tried on different screens, checked if cables were inserted correctly and still nothing. Is this a sign of a dead GPU or should I take to a Repair store BEFORE I decide to smash this Tower up?

i have a rx5700 xt and 3700x. I've had the computer for just a year now, and I've been running into countless freezing problems in games now for the past two weeks. Whenever I start up a game now, it will launch and most will get to the menu like normal. In order to run the game though, I have to lower the resolution to 1080p, lower the quality, and limit my frame rate to a maximum 72 fps or 60 fps depending on the game. Some games that won't even work. Running the game at native resolution. It will hard freeze. Running it at medium to ultra settings. It will hard freeze. If I unlock my fps to match the refresh rate of my monitor. It will hard freeze. I still hear sound but the game just freezes and I can't alt f4 on half of them. The weird thing is is that I can run Heaven Benchmark at max settings and I will get a my usual score back. No freezing. However, another weird thing is that I don't have any artifacting, screen tearing, or throttling. My temps are really good when playing games. Going into Forza I can see that maxing out the GPU doesn't cause any issue, but while playing at Ultra settings and native res the world will stop loading in and then a hard freeze occurs. Minecraft with Sildurs shaders works perfectly fine and it's the only game that works without error. Roblox tends to freeze a few times. Borderlands 3 is the only game that I can load in at Ultra Settings and native res until I get a hard freeze ten minutes in the game. Battlefield V has this same issue as well.
I've tried literally everything I could think of. An sfc scan, Memtest, Aida64, chkdsk, cleaning out my pc, reseating the RAM, used a different PSU cable to my GPU, DDU, Reinstalling Chipset Drivers, updated BIOS, and the problems haven't gone away. But, now I know that the problem is the GPU after swapping it out and testing the same games working just fine. No hard freezing on any of them and the one game that refused to launch (AC Origins) launched up right away. I don't know what to do anymore. NOTE: Hard freezing ONLY occurs when playing games.
Sounds like faulty GPU, can you get a replacement covered by warranty?

I was playing a game and when I quit to play Fortnite my screen changed colors and the game stopped working.
I saw that there was a driver update so I thought that may have been the problem, but when I try to install it it just stays on the same screen and won’t finish the install process.
This is an NVIDIA RTX 2060 super and I’ve only had it at just a year this month.
I have an issue of my screen becoming blurry and the lighting being stretched to the right if that makes sense. My gpu temp is 87c while playing games and my fan speed is set pretty high. I don’t think this could be because my monitor but I’m wondering why it’s being blurred and stretched

I have an issue, my screen keeps going black and I hear a disconnect sound then it turns back on, it mostly happens when I play video games, but it also happens when I just watch movies which is weird because I thought it only happens when I put pressure on the card but now even when simply browsing the internet it happens, I don't know if it's a GPU issue or maybe a PSU issue, the card doesn't even heat up or anything and it doesn't look broken and it isn't dusty so I'm really confused why is this happening

my intel gpu says stopped working code 43 thing after starting up pc but when i update it it goes black screen when clicking start menu. when i restarted the pc it will say error again idk what happening

I don't know what my problem could be, but I feel like my graphics card is giving up, help? I have a GeForce GTX 760 1.5gb and I play somewhat demanding games on very low settings, I've had this computer (Acer Predator G3-605) for like 6-7 years now, a month ago i started seeing some artfacts on the screen and then my screen just went black, I had to restart my PC and then I noticed that my second monitor didn't show anything, only my main monitor could show an image, it could no longer detect any other screens but the main one. In Device Manager under Display Adapters it shows my GPU but there is a yellow triangle at it and it says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)", I can't play any games anymore either, not even games like League of Legends which I used to be able to play without any issues, now I get a permanent 4-5 FPS. I tried the DDU in Safe Mode but as soon as I try to reinstall new drivers (any driver) my PC goes into an infinite loop of showing a black screen for a few seconds, then back to normal and this repeats, after every period of this happening windows gives me the notification "Force to reinstall graphics drivers", so I can't install any drivers. I can still surf the internet and use applications like Spotify, Discord etc but that's about it. I suspect that my PC is actually using the integrated graphics at this point. I'm pretty convinced that I need a new graphics card, but obviously I want to be 100% sure what the problem is so that I don't unnecessarily buy a new component.

Put a failing GPU look fine on screen but occasionally the monitor cut on and off or does that sound more like it monitor failure
Tfw you just upgraded from a 970 to a 1060 and just got a whole new system going with a water cooler now

So what if my Screen (On start-up sometimes) Just goes white or shows a multi color static screen? Just today when that happened i restarted the pc 4 times with no success so i was forced to hold the power button down. I have tried to get it to happen again but not success there either. I just need to know whats happening before i send it back in to get looked at.

Hi, I don't know if you can help me, on games like PoE, r6, tekken8 or even Apex, (so different GPU/Cpu loaded games), my game will crash if I take graphics higher than low, all while my Cpu is very high loaded and my gpu just at 50-60%, I have a 1060 6gb and a 10600kf so my Cpu is supposed to be better and newer than my gpu. But all these games crash, can you help? I don't know what to replace
Ok, so I have always had this issue: my gtx 1050 ti always artifacts and does some other weird stuff, but you never expect it. FurMark for a few minutes, absolutely fine(except the degrees. it usually freezes at 20-27 C). Watching TH-cam videos, or talking to a buddy on discord, artifacting. So what is this artifacting? Screen blanking every so often and these horizontal green lines. Its not too bad, and I wasn't worried, until I was playing Ark and pc screen blanked, audio clip repeating, and fan speed going 100%. Now this happens to this card in specific, meaning that when I plug in my other gpu its completely fine, haven't had a single issue with it. Anyone have any ideas? Someone said that I should upgrade my ram(currently 4+8GB, 2133).
I have the same issue with the gtx 1650 oc edition just in particular games when the screen goes off and the audio stays and I think my 350w cooler master psu is the issue

I installed my card into another pc with a power supply that is more than enough for my graphics card and it did it's thing again for a few weeks, but now it just works. i have no idea. maybe it adjusted to the comfortable amount of wattage i guess??
Whenever I boot it flashes green and black and than I have to push ctrl+shift+windows+b and it would usually boot just fine. But today it just wouldn't do anything.

I know this is an old video, but I’m working on my nephew’s PC.
The GPU cannot be found in the Bios and when I try doing the driver update the PC goes into a safe mode like state. The resolution is called at 1280X720 and everything is stretched.
I’m not sure if it’s a Motherboard issue or a GPU issue please help.

So i have my 1660 super for about 3-4 months and while im playing some games my pc starts to really slow down, the sound and image get all distorted then I get blue screen. I reinstalled the gpu drivers again witth ddu and its still happens. I dont know if its because my monitor (its very old, I have to use a HDMI/VGA conector to work) but I really apreciate help.
I see white squares now and then every time a new asset is loaded for the first time. Started happening with my 1070 and now even my igpu is doing it. Is it display/cable related?

My PC goes to Black Screen whenever there is a load on the GPU. System has to be restarted. Temps are fine though. Used 'UserBenchmark' test.. and everything was fine till GPU test. Black Screened.
Man man i know its a old video, but i used the heaven benchmark and i get a stutter and a black screen every 4-5 sec. Why is that? Some games i can ply at 1080p and some i have to drop down to 720p.
My GPU crashes in Rainbow six siege and MW but in Furmark everything works fine, could my PSU have an defect?
I'm thinking about going back to ps4 at least it just works 🤦🏻♂️

@@Nicu-vy3gm nop. PC gaming is way cheaper. Getting the rig may be expensive if you dont live in USA (like myself :( ) but aside from that, all games are cheaper and you DON'T have to pay a lousy membership to play with your buddies -also, a powerfull PC is multitasking; a console is just that.

Hello my pc sometimes gets restarted or giving me 7-10fps when launch games .. Previously i was getting 70 fps above in games .. My gpu is gtx1060 6gb and psu cooler master thunder 450w .. What should be the problem
So I did everything you told me too and I still have weird colors all over my screen and when I run the furmark and put it on full screen it's completely fine but when I open a game or something it just flashes a bunch of different colors really fast and idk what else to do if you could get back to me I would very much appreciate it

I’m having an issue, i don’t know if it’s a gpu issue though, i can’t run a game without both of my monitors turning off…but my gpu temps are always around 45-55c (i mainly play valorant) also i do not hear the fans sounding like a jett, so i don’t know what it could be, it’s fine when i’m just having discord open or google chrome, the fans don’t spin, only when a game is running (evga ftw3 ultra) model please help.
Question only Halo 2 is acting up. When I fire the gun there the bottom corner of my screen temporarily fills with a solid color. Other games and videos work. What could it be?
Hi, When i play high end game for 30 min sometiimes it gives shapes like pyramid in-between, and rest nothing happens like black screen or pc shut down. Can you tell me wheather its my hardware issue or just drivers or GPU has to be cleaned ? Please reply

i had artifacts on my new gpu only when i booted and it was only on display port and not hdmi, i enabled csm boot in bios and it doesnt seem to do it anymore, do you think that was why?

While playing game (far cry 4), the game ´crashed´ and on screan i could see coloured stripes that were horizontal and had light gray and dark gray colours. Is it also a sign that ´my´ graphics card is dying? Im using AMD Radeon HD 5800 Series.
I will try my best to describe my situation.
So, high quality SMPS cord was damaged and was replaced with a low quality as a backup. I didn't know this. So, I played RDR2 and my PC crashed everytime. So I stopped for a while. But when I open it now, the graphics of the lock screen seems off and it freezes within a few seconds. Please help.
