- A lot of students struggle to choose the "right" engineering major because of many factors. Common ones include the following:
1. You have yet to discover what you like and dislike.
2. There are so many disciplines that overlap and are difficult to understand without the necessary resources and guidance.
3. Your interests lie in a plethora of areas.
4. You are worried about things like job security, salary, etc.
The goal is to help anyone who is having trouble deciding between two very attractive majors - MECHANICAL and MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING - and who wants to learn more about these two disciplines.

My brother started an Auto company, that converts Gasoline Cars to EV's, he also started his Mechatronics Engineering journey (Freshman), and men, its one hell of a journey.
I want to join 😊
If yur country is developing, always takes the engineering discipline that teach you how things are made qnd how to make things. Core engineering never goes wrong, you will always be needed even if you're not "exeptionally" paid.
I like your way of thinking.
Great video I find it hilarious that the channel is called engineering gone wild while being one of the most calm channels I've ever seen
I just started mechanical & mechatronics engineering and this video helped me alot to differentiate between both of my majors I appreciate it
Bro, you completely pushed me to pick based on my opinion and desires. I'm so grateful!!!
Guys I’m junior graduating early from high school. I’m going into mechatronics engineering next year, My only advice when ur choosing a college for this major is to make sure It’s “ABET” accredited
Freshman in high school here! I’m going for mechanical engineering 😅
@@notkarengt3109 cool 😎
@@jayth3gr863 if possible I may do a masters, because mechatronics engineering is very versatile degree!
Edit: I Also want to travel overseas (I think they call it business trips) but idk if the degree gives the ability to travel overseas to visit suppliers and what not
@@notkarengt3109 same imma try to get my masters in Mechatronics, u can literally go into any field. I’m not sure if you can travel overseas or not, but I don’t see why not. U could prob go into marine engineering or ocean engineering with this degree
What's ABET credited?
Very educative 🚀
Watching from 🇳🇬
As an student of Mechatronics Engineering over here, we study all the core common and Mechatronics courses mentioned here with an additional 70% of the core Mechanical courses... Mechatronics is fun, but requires patience and attention to details...
Which uni are you studying
@@hezekiahayuba7551 FUTO, Nigeria
Great video! The number of top tier universitires you can attend for undergrad will be limited if you decide to major in Mechatronics. Northeastern is the only one I would consider tbh😂
Excellent explanations! ❤❤❤
Thanks from Mali 🇲🇱. Merci beaucoup
Mechatronics is challenging but rewarding
Thanks for the excellent vid.
Also I've now got a headache.
i do mechatronics engineering i tool 3 fluid dynamics 2 thermodynamics courses till now
I studied all the Mechanical Courses mentioned in this video as a Mechatronics Engineer. I also ended up doing a master's degree in Electrical Engineer( Power Systems). I never knew I would choose this career path.
Can you also make one on Electromechanical and Mechanical Engineering?
A very helpful info
Which university is best where I can pursue Masters or Ph.D in mechatronics Engineering in the US?? Any help? Any scholarships too?
I’ve completed my mechatronics from quantum university and the reason behind choosing is the main class room teaching and other professors expertise I’ve had a good experience which will help me to go ahead further for more opportunity
Quantum ??😂😂 In India ?
What about robotics and mechatronics?
Great video! Nicely summarized plus I lost it at 1:55 🤣
Waht s better mechatronics or industrial and maintenance??
this is literally amazing!
can I build drones with mechatronics?
👍👍很棒视頻…喜歡💕💕💕
List all the text books for all the courses, thank you
Hi, i am doing bachelor in computer science engineering so can i do master in machanical or mechatronics
Please can you make video about engineering physics?
I am really stuck in finding out the best university for mechatronics engineering as a international student
So can I do a computer science bs and than pursue mechatronics . What’s the fastest way to do this degree?
I'm going to be graduating with a mechanical engineering degree soon but have found that I am interested in mechatronic aspects, do the skills transfer well?
For sure! I would say 99% of Mechanical Engineering skills are transferrable. Mechatronics is a great subfield with a bright future🙂
@@EngineeringGoneWild What about electrical and electronics engineering graduates
Its almost a meme how often mechanical engineers "steal" other engineers jobs. Shouldn't be much of a problem given how similar those two are. In many schools mechatronics is even placed under the umbrella of Mechanical engineering as a specialization module.
Like 24A beautiful Video with success
I've worked in many places with mechanical engineers. Most of them are miserable and hate their job. Nowadays, they're glorified drafters. Management treats them like crap. Honestly, the cleaning staff is treated better. They are constantly dumped on. If you are an engineer and have any sort of social skills, your best bet is to get into technical sales. Big contracts = big money. You will get much more financial reward and professional growth/ recognition. Let the pions draw the nuts and bolts.
That's what happens when you go and work for sh..t employers and this is not specific to ME only.
It's hard for an INTJ personality type.
Mechanical is king 👑💪🥀
Can mechatronics engineer work as mechanical?
does mechatronics = mechanical in terms of mechanical skills
It's better to major in mechanical engnthen take a minor of mechatronics in university
Can you make a video on which colleges offer Mechatronics undergrad degree . i can’t honestly find many
michigan tech is a great one. where do u live?
In a lot of schools, mechatronics is a graduate degree, usually considered as a specialization subset of Mechanical engineering.
Dont mechatronics if you wanna dive deep in mechanical engineering path , research or even do a startup related to field of manufacturing
Quiting engineering persuasion video...Lucky there is no Ergonomics, Bionics and Natural fractals.
♥️♥️

Mechatronics engineering 💪💪💪🙏🙏
Too much reverb
Mechanical can do some work of mechatronics but mechatronics can't 🥲🤧
isn't it the other way around?
its literally the opposite
Mechatronics engineers are just smarter versions of mechanical engineers
*Watered-down generalists
@@carldrogo9492 ok boomer
"Modern version" would be more accurate
Mechatronic is not same as ElectroMechanical?
look... mecha(nical)(elec)tronic and electro(nic)mechanical
@@toxicdubz3841 but I never see a Electromechanica as Bachelor?
@@zweiwing4435They're not the same thing
Ohhhhhhh
I specialize in Sexualtronics Engineering.
😩
never say prestige like that again
this comment will get lost and its okay, i just wanna put it out there: i hate mechatronics and engineering in general but im forced to do it because of my parents and family reasons. there is no escape. i have been mentally abused by peers and my surroundings. been failing a ton of my modules and my graduation is constantly being pushed back. i just want to be free away from this field that i have zero passion in.
Why
if they're literally forcing you; call the police. if not; stop being a pushover and just do what you want. your comment serves no purpose. it has nothing to do with the course of topic, and everything to do with you. if you want a better life, then work towards that goal. you complaining on the internet isn't going to make your life better. actually taking action for the betterment of your situation is a decision that is fully and entirely up to you. neither your parents nor randos in a youtube comment section, have any intrinsic power over your life and choices. you are the sole arbiter of your own actions and decisions, any power anyone else have in that capacity is power that you've given them.
the person that have put you where you are is you. the person that can take you somewhere else you. the only person that have direct power over your future is you. every thing and everyone else are external forces that act independently of you, and you are the only person that can chose how to navigate that landscape. complaining in a youtube comment section is just an attempt to offload those decisions to someone else. the bettering of your life is your responsibility and your incentive. stop trying to blame others for the decisions you have and are actively making and take accountability for your life. its something everyone has to do, and its a decision only you can make.
So sorry you have to go for this only because you family wants, you have to tell u parents how unhappy you are. Life is too short. Do what you like to do. Please fight for your rights to make your own decisions. Be happy 😊 I'll be praying for you 🙏
