    Thank you. A great video on how to change it. It helped make it very easy to do.
    I had the factory fitted hose clips which were a pain to remove

      Done this a year ago so can't remember exactly but used a flat head screw driver stuck in the clip and prised it open.

    The Thermostat is NOT "part of the housing". You can remove it easily (press the washer holding the spring and turn it 90 degrees, it pops out). The problem is, there is almost no separate thermostats on the market (so you must buy whole thing, assembly).
    The Thermostats are available for Diesel engines and they are very similar to the gasoline/petrol version. In emergency situation you could swap one.

    When refilling make sure heater is set to hot, unscrew bleeder on heater hose and slowly fill till you see water flowing from the bleeder then tighten. Next unscrew bleeder on radiator and fill to you see water flowing then tighten, done, this is best way to ensure no air is trapped.

    I have a 2004 Palio 1.6v. The thermostats seem to be in the same local for all/most Fiats correct?

    Hello Mark, you have great punto videos and know how, please maybe you could help me identify a problem on my punto, it had a termostat changed with a throttle body change ( both new ) yet now ( noticed it like 2 weeks past the repairs) i am getting a rough idle - revs go up and down and the engine sound is unstable when the engine is cold, when it heats up however, it seems to be running smooth and fine, any ideas ? thank you

    can you not reuse the gasket?

    • @michaelkennedy8573
      @michaelkennedy8573 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know this is a very late reply but no, reusing the gasket will not provide an effective seal

    • @nicholassage2076
      @nicholassage2076 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@michaelkennedy8573 and I know this is late reply too but when I bought my thermostat, gasket came with it , you can also use some high temperature silicone for extra safety as well
