    Great video.
My hose snapped off flush at the thermostat, leaked all the coolant, and overheated in seconds... and this was the only video showing new how to access it.

Thanks for the video, it helped me fix my girlfriends 2013 Fiat. Battery and battery tray removed very easily but after that i ran into problems with the hoses and electrical plug being very stubborn to come out. After some wiggling with grips the electrical plug came off (in the process it appears i may have damaged the clip but it goes back on quite snug). I went to unclip the small hose and in the process the plastic fitting sheared off leaving just the big hose to disconnect. I unbolted the thermostat to make it easier. I then used a flat head screwdriver to pry the hose and spray some WD40 down it. This made it 10x easier. I did the same to the small hose to pull out what was left of the plastic fitting. When putting coolant back into the system, left the blue cap on and opened the bleeder screw. Got the engine up to temperature and kept foot down on the accelerator pedal until coolant started to appear.

Hi my friend good video. My coolent gets up too temp no probs but recently the heater isn't blowing warm or hot air, so at the time I'm freezing after work in the morning. The fan is blowing and air con works but no heat or a tiny amount when on motorway. Would this be the likely problem and fix if I replace that thermostat? Or using concentrate coolent be the problem as its got mostly that in the coolent system? Thank for any info

Before changing it try bleeding the coolant system. These seem prone to get in an airlock. You're rad may appear full-up but it doesn't mean the system is. Do you notice any gargling from inside the car sort of coming from behind the dashboard when you first started up?

Once you have ruled an airlock out then it's a fair chance it could be the thermostat.

Ah yea I have heard that at least twice recently. Is it easy to blead the system ?

@chrisleigh777 if you go to approx 11:32 in the video I do talk about bleeding. It's easy. You do need to rev the engine a fair bit once you have the bleed valve open to get force any air out.... then top of the rad again as necessary. Good luck 👍🏼😎

Shouldn't some kind of glue or paste be placed on the junction between the wall and the thermostat, to avoid oil leaks? Or is that ok?

@@hugocarvalho4977 it has a built in silicone seal. Just make sure that the mating surfaces are clean.

Just changed one on my ford ka , I specifically got one that has a metal outlet and not plastic as mine snapped on the old one which was plastic . Eurocarparts have one that’s all metal . £33
