I remember another educational game that I was given for the ZX Spectrum in 85 called "Caesar's Travels". It's about the only educational title I remember from that era.
@@jaethemanchild The Caesar character is actually a black & white cat. When I was given the cassette (circa 1985), I was surprised as I'd never seen it any of the shops. But, surprisingly, the first Caesar game (called "Caesar The Cat") is included on the ZX32 Emulator CD-ROM. I recently found the cassette in the attic, complete with case & user manual and in good condition. Maybe it's worth something to a collector.
I don't think I remember this one or the TV series, but the funny thing is, I started watching the Auf Wiedersehen, Pet DVD box set just a few days ago. I remember Kevin Whately starring in another kids TV show about a B&B. The actor Timothy Spall (aka Barry from Auf Wiedersehen) lives just down the road from me in a place called Honor Oak near Forest Hill. I remember it being the most popular thing on TV when it came out in 1983. I never missed an episode. I didn't know until a few days ago that the actor Gary Holton, who died during the making of the second series, was the lead singer of a band called Heavy Metal Kids. He influenced some well-known singers, including Joe Elliott of Def Leppard.
@@jaethemanchild Another thing I didn't know was he was born in Clapham and the guy who sang the show's theme tune lived just down the road from there in Brixton, so they were probably friends. When Heavy Metal Kids got back together in 2010 to do a tour, with John Altman of Eastenders fame (as lead vocalist), they did a gig at the Half Moon pub in Putney (a venue I've been to many times) and Joe Elliott was in attendance. He got invited on stage to perform a couple of songs with them. I didn't know about the gig until I saw the video on TH-cam. In the late 1970s, there was a well-known rock guitarist/singer called John Miles who originated from Newcastle. I found out in 1979 that my dad's cousin was his record promotor when he worked for Decca Records. Coincidentally, my maths teacher at college was John Miles' cousin. It came out in a conversation we had about Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page. Neither of us could believe the coincidence.
The racing lady who helped out was hot, so a thumbs up from me!
She sure was. I’d have bought her a “stotty cake”!
Hope you get some of the awesome theme tune in there! Looking forward to it.
It’s faint, to dodge©️but it is in there!

I’ve not played that one, is he “Roman” about? 😃

I knew that Hilton died tragically young, but I didn’t know how influential he was musically. You’re a repository of amazing facts!

Love it :)
I vaguely remember this story in Look & Read. The only one I really liked was The Boy From Space
Relatable?
Not sure, but it was sci-fi, whereas most of the other stories were up north and not interesting to my young mind

TH-cam is deleting my comments so I will have to behave.
I'm fairly sure I've played this.
Killing me not saying something about baz...
TH-cam seems to be quite harsh! I bet Baz has been to a few coups in his time.
