I just bought a Torp TC 1000 for my ultra , not only you can get more power out of the stock battery, but this particular controller protects your battery in low and high voltage is because of that communication, again it's absolutely amazing. Well worth the money.
Remember to always protect your battery first, the motor off surrounds can sustain double in comparison to the battery. The battery is a bit more sophisticated and that's why they come with a bms system. Essentially the only thing to worry about the motor would be overheating and that is easily manageable.
If you don't mind me asking, roughly how much do you weigh? I have been considering setting up something just like this. I weigh 95kg, and wondering if i'm too heavy for something like this.
