@@ActiveRehabMobility Turkish cuisine has become unique with the mixture it takes from Arab, Greek, Armenian cuisine and of course, Central Asian culture. Therefore, it has more varieties than many cuisines in the world. However, the reason why Turkish cuisine is not promoted in the west is that western standards are considered as "Fine dining", for which you should consume the meal for "a long time" and with "wine". As you can see, I think that finishing these dishes in seconds and consuming them with beer or "ayran", not wine, does not take away from the quality of the cuisine.
Sonny, that meat was pastırma, not pastrami. They sound similar but pastırma is pressed and air dried, then coated with a spice mix, as opposed to pastrami, which is coated then smoked, hence why you noted that it is a little bit dry. Next time when you visit Turkey i recommend you to try " iskender"(basically doner kebab with butter&tomato sauce) , kokoreç(made with lamb intestine cooked over charcoal - trust me you won't regret eating it -) , mantı(minced meat inside dough , boiled in water ,served with yogurt and melted butter on top) , şaşlık (some type of kebab) , yaprak sarma(it's vegetarian - some rice, currants, spices inside a grape leaf) for dinner , and künefe(dessert with some cheese inside - cheese has no salt in it -) , katmer(clotted cream and pistachios inside very thin dough) and baklava( it doesn't need explanation for itself :D ) for dessert.

As a Turkish citizen, this video made me very proud. Turkey is a country with the most beautiful food in the world. It is a country that must be visited and seen. Everyone should come to Turkey at least once in their life.
3% of Turkiye is in Europe. Calling it a European country is hilarious because 97% is in Asia, it uses the Altaic language system, it is a Islamic country, and we came from Central Asia then the population became diverse with people all around the globe. We are West Asians period.
@@Asaspecimenyesimextraoddinary Not all people around the globe, only people around balkans caucasus. Others are refugees or immigrants. And central asian blood is very rare (people don't want to accept it but it is the truth).
There is a cultural reason why the Turkish breakfast is so hearty: a hearty breakfast provides the necessary energy for the day. Many Turks start their day early and work long hours, so a hearty breakfast provides the necessary foundation to keep them going until lunch.
I tasted Turkish food in Austria. (Salzburg only tho). And in many other European countries. I must say with no hostility involved, those are garbage. As a Turk, I’ve learnt by the worst way - trying - that i will never eat Turkish food in Europe again. Hope you have a chance to try Turkish food in Turkiye. You’ll see what I mean.

Turkish cuisine is mostly known with baklava, Maraş battered ice-cream and sütlaç when it comes to desserts. Turkish cuisine is rich when it comes to desserts in fact. Ayva tatlısı (quince dessert), kazandibi, tavuk göğsü, un kurabiyesi, kavala almond cookies, damla sakızlı kurabiye (mastic gum cookies), sakızlı muhallebi, su muhallebisi, acıbadem kurabiyesi, pürüzyen, irmik helvası (semolina halva), un helvası (flour halva), tulumba tatlısı, yoğurt tatlısı, incir tatlısı, gül tatlısı, laz böreği, irmik tatlısı, lor tatlısı, katmer, güllaç, kaymaklı ekmek kadayıfı, elmalı kurabiye, şekerpare, kalburabastı, kadın göbeği, höşmerim, peynir helvası (cheese halva), ıslak kek, ay çöreği, pastiç, torpil pastası, marşal pastası (pasta means "cake with icing on top" in Turkish, weird but true) and many local delicacies in each city. Ağlayan pasta (the crying cake) is most like a modern style of cake but mostly done in cities. I wanna suggest those desserts in case you haven't tried any yet. Hey Sonny, thank you for the great video of my country! I wanted to let you know that Turkey officially changed its name with the U.N and it is now known as Turkiye (Tur-kee-ye). I look forward to watching your future videos about my country, good luck and all the best.

I've never had the inclination to want to visit Turkey, but watching this I think I'll plan a trip. Food looks incredible!
trust me its not, food is bland af
Don't listen to the person saying it's bland. I've been in Turkey for the past two months and the food is absolutely amazing! I have never wanted to eat so much, I'm gonna get fat here! I found out that I'm a huge fan of lamb.
@@kayacenk4164 sadly tho the food got worse since there is a crazy inflation in turkey rn. The food was still miles better like 10 years ago.
The quality of food has declined rapidly in Turkey over the past 20 years unfortunately which is tied to the economic problems of the country. I mean sure visit Turkey, lots of history and places to see but the food is nowhere near "incredible". There are much better places to visit for food tourism.
@@jimigrill I disagree with this entirely. There are economic problems, but there are still rich tourism areas in Turkey with amazing traditional foods. The center of Ankara where I'm currently at also has amazing food.

It's a great video as always! İstanbul has lots of different food to try , but in İstanbul you can only scratch the surface. Turkish cuisine varies depents on which region you are in , and every region has so many different food to taste so that's why you can only scratch the surface in İstanbul.
Congratulations👆💫

Yay you’re traveling Europe!! I was in Turkey with my mom and brother this year and the food was amazing
Good So
We are not Europe!!
3% of Turkiye is in Europe. Calling it a European country is hilarious because 97% is in Asia, it uses the Altaic language system, it is a Islamic country, and we came from Central Asia then the population became diverse with people all around the globe. We are West Asians period.

There is a cultural reason why the Turkish breakfast is so hearty: a hearty breakfast provides the necessary energy for the day. Many Turks start their day early and work long hours, so a hearty breakfast provides the necessary foundation to keep them going until lunch.

Turkish cuisine is mostly known with baklava, Maraş battered ice-cream and sütlaç when it comes to desserts. Turkish cuisine is rich when it comes to desserts in fact. Ayva tatlısı (quince dessert), kazandibi, tavuk göğsü, un kurabiyesi, kavala almond cookies, damla sakızlı kurabiye (mastic gum cookies), sakızlı muhallebi, su muhallebisi, acıbadem kurabiyesi, pürüzyen, irmik helvası (semolina halva), un helvası (flour halva), tulumba tatlısı, yoğurt tatlısı, incir tatlısı, gül tatlısı, laz böreği, irmik tatlısı, lor tatlısı, katmer, güllaç, kaymaklı ekmek kadayıfı, elmalı kurabiye, şekerpare, kalburabastı, kadın göbeği, höşmerim, peynir helvası (cheese halva), ıslak kek, ay çöreği, pastiç, torpil pastası, marşal pastası (pasta means "cake with icing on top" in Turkish, weird but true) and many local delicacies in each city. Ağlayan pasta (the crying cake) is most like a modern style of cake but mostly done in cities. I wanna suggest those desserts in case you haven't tried any yet. (Just saved this paragraph before and pasted here hey there).
You need to make a Turkish series! Every city has something different to offer.
