Wish that was the case with my 2014 Metropolis! Already had to replace my rear tailgate release switch twice in last 2 years. Theres a design fault in that water easily gets inside and rots the mechanism.
Very hamdy video. Gives good detailed view of whats the door about and how this job would be done. Mine has fully snapped off and holding on with tape at the moment. Aliexpress have them or original style. Think ill go original. I dont trust myself cutting holes 😅
Okay, so it looks more modern. I was surprised to find that Land Rover didn't slim the whole thing down, so that it doesn't protrude that much. But they didn't. Still looks better. Yours may be primed, ready for paint. Regarding holes, I couldn't really see if there was any rubber seal on the inside of the edge on the new handle, so I would be worried about water ingress. To solve that, I would either plug them all with a suitable rubber plug, or if there was no space, use small sticky stickers (such as MTB protection film - very sticky) on both sides of the metal/holes for all of the unused ones. Edges should be primed and then painted. The rear camera you have installed, could maybe pull the wires through the existing wire grommet so no need to drill yet another hole? The number plate lights seems to be rattling quite a bit. Maybe some little seals like thin foam could do the trick? Looks nice! Thanks for sharing. Kind regards.
Thanks, all very valid points. I’ve since added a sealing strip and blocked the spare holes. This handle is gloss black, not primed, available from PowerfulUK.
Thanks! Yep, their video is only 15mins long though and misses out a lot of the detail. This job is quite fiddly and took a lot longer than I thought it would.
Yeh, I thought about that afterwards. I should have plugged the old holes as water could run down behind the handle and into the holes. I will plug them from the inside when the boot panel is next off.
Yeah. That should have been engraved. Very important ;) Maybe a discerning owner could go see and engraver (or what ever it's called) to have that done. A bit daring though. But L A N D R O V E R would look SO nice on that handle. Cheers.
My videos are the long version…the real life job complete with thought process and swearing. PowerfulUK offer much shorter videos showing ideal world highlights and missing out most of the issues. Take your pick.

Good job, I've bought one of these myself still on my to do list.
You can unlatch the boot by holding down the lock and unlock buttons together on the dashboard for a few seconds too 👍
Really? Never knew that! I will try it!
Does this work?

Maybe you should plug the old unused Holes to stop water ingress??

Nice job but I don't like it not having LAND ROVER on it

You made that look hard mate.
Thank you, it was!
Well done mate. Good job but I think I'll paint mine after watching what's involved...👍
Is the new long handle metal or plastic, like the old short one,???
Great! But you should change a rear wiper on 5710RWT2 POLCAR. It`s more sightly.
Not sure what you are talking about, please explain
