    This makes me excited because I'm rebuilding a BMW 550i with the n63. So watching your videos helps me make sure I don't miss anything and is getting me hyped to have my car running again soon

      It's honestly just a matter of patience. Watch as many videos as you can, use BMW manuals and clean the parts (and your workspace) as much as you can. It is not really as hard as it looks, but really time consuming. It's worthwhile though specially if you really like the car

    Hey guys I wish there were guys like you that could work on motors over here like that because they cant and I live in california I have an X5M. They don't even want to replace the bearings at the bottom of the motor because they don't know how to do it. But thank you for showing me

    Do you think the aftermarket oil cap is helping with the oil burning issue snice it releases crank case pressure during hard accleration?

    • @dnl35projects
      @dnl35projects  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, I never heard of this aftermarket cap however my belief is that if your PCV / CCV system is working as it should there will be no need for that

    The S63 has two cooling reservoirs, one for the engine and one for the turbines. How many liters of coolant are in each reservoir? Is it the same type of coolant?

    • @dnl35projects
      @dnl35projects  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends on the car but you can easily use 15 litres if your system is empty. I’d use the blue Copland however you need to ensure that’s the current coolant in there cause you cannot mix them

      @@dnl35projects Cool, in my case it's also an X5 M E70.
      Then I could put the same coolant in both reservoirs.

    Hi I'm in the US and just got the block and heads back from the machine shop. Where do you recommend to get a rebuild kit with most of the gaskets and bolts etc?

    • @dnl35projects
      @dnl35projects  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi, I'm in Australia however its still more convenient for me to buy parts from US since they are cheaper and easier to find in stock. I get 95% of the parts from FCP Euro because these guys are amazingly quick with sending orders out and it would get to me within a week. There are other sites like ECS Tunning, BimmerWorld you could also find good parts at a great prices. If youre rebuilding an X5M (S63 non TU) you should get these part numbers: 11112158085 (Block gasket set) - 11122159374 (engine head - gaskets set- have all gaskets to the engine head but not the headgasket itself) plus the headgaskets you choose - I only use Elring on my builds because of price and quality. I hope that helps :)

    What for is that cooler 90 degrees opposite to all others?

    • @dnl35projects
      @dnl35projects  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You meant that cooler laying flat in front of everything ? Thats part of the low temperature system (cools the intercoolers)

      @@dnl35projects I thought passenger side intake is for intercooler?
      Driver side is oil cooler, right?

    What was the total cost of rebuild? I have pretty loud rod knock at 161000 miles and looks like I'm headed down that path.

    • @dnl35projects
      @dnl35projects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I spent about $10k (Australian dollars) but half of that was to sleeve the block and repair the work the first machine shop did ! If you have a perfectly running (or lightly smoking) S63 or N63 there is a possibility of doing the rebuild for under US $4k - Fingers crossed your crank isn't damaged
