Sentinel Automatic Antenna Tracker Build and Test.

- For years I have wanted an antenna tracker but its always been cost prohibitive having to buy another board to fit into all the planes to send the signal. This unit uses no additional hardware at all and gets it positional information direct from the OSD Telemetry stream.
Hey, good job mate! A little tips: to avoid doing a full turn when you reach 360° you can use slip ring to rotate infinitly
If you don't want to use slip ring you can invert y axis and put x axis to 0 (if x reach 180, you put x to 0 and you do y = y * -1) it will turn x of 180 and turn y to stay on target, this way you cut by half the time antenna is not focusing drone. (but it require a little bit more code)
Thanks for that info I an really happy the way this thing has come together! For the type of flying we do and where it will be located I suspect it will work out just fine but its always nice to know alternatives appreciate that. Happy Flying I know I cant wait to test it out fully cheers Bill

Great build Bill I thoroughly enjoyed the video and I really like after seeing the video it's funny now but it's putting the compass on it I've never done that with my Eagle tree Eagle eye and now I'm going to copy you and do it and it's the same thing on that it has to point true north great job looking forward to more videos take care

Hey many thanks for that its appreciated. TBH I am really loving this tracker, I have wanted one for years but its always been cost prohibitive until now. This one works really simply and effectively. Watched some of your vids and see your in FLA I am a regular visitor there for 32 years now but never been to Melbourne never know we may catch up some time over there. Cheers Bill

It sure will I cant wait for better weather to use it properly. The fact that this thing works without adding anything to the models is a big plus for us. Totally enjoyable build and TBH its really compact when folded up winner all round! Happy Flying Bill

Yes working fine for me I updated it to some custom firmware and never had a problem.

But you forget to put 1 more Algorithm.....
Put the identified movement to the center of the frame.... thus the camera aren't pushed away if the source of movement comes from outside of the frame

do you have to take into account magnetic declination when pointing the tracker north?
No just north and it works just fine.

does the tracker have a GPS module in the 3D printed box?
No GPS
@@BillHally okay. how does the tracker know it's own position then?
It does not need to know its position only where North is. Then it takes the Telemetry information from the plane and determines its 3D position relative to North.

As I pointed out on my video on more than one occasion the problem was me not pointing to the North whist setting up, not anything to do with calibration.
