Then added some photoetch and scratch built bits anyway" :D

The wave motion gun arrives next Tuesday and she'll be ready to take on the Gamillon Empire.
Seriously, beautiful model. Perhaps you could place it outside in natural light with appropriate background and she would look like the real Yamato.

This video popped up through Google's algorithm; not sure why. That said, this was my hobby in middle and high school in the 80s and I was pretty good. But this. THIS! In retrospect I was trash LOL. Amazing work and very satisfying to watch now in my early 50s. Back in my day we only had Squadron Green putty, Testor's cement, and plastic airbrushes. But to see rivet stencils and sheet metal parts is amazing!

I've been waiting for a Yamato build ever since I subbed to your channel 3 years ago. This was so worth the wait. You've really outdone yourself with this model. Perfection. Utter perfection.

I commend you Sir !,,, You not only take the model and make it your own, but you bring the basics of Honor to the Yamato and its memory.. I am pleased you took your patience and your time and your life, and made a more realistic model of the famous Ship, instead of the standard everyone does.. I have two of them, the 700 and the 800 and plan to build them by my 70th year,, so I have 5 years to finish !! I also appreciate that when you were DONE, you were Not done yet,, you still found improvements and touch ups that met your eyes,,, I do the same as a perfectionist will strive to do,, this is Honorable and brings peace to you once you have fully completed the task !,, I have 3 Bismarks, one for a top diorama, one for a build and one for a "sunk" build,, and plan for them to be completed as well,, with a somewhat same taste as you have performed,.. I offer my respect and admiration for your work, and for your time and attention.. I have saved your video to help me, when I do my models one day,, A good day to you Sir,, May it bring peace and sunshine.... PS

It's in the name - they're photo-etched. There's a picture they downscale (I gues with lenses) and a process etches it into the metal.

thank you for building the ship
    that's ours ancestor's soul
    yamato is
It was so long ago that the ancestors who lived in Japan called the country where they lived, rather than the name Japan. In other words, during the war our ancestors gave the ship the name of an old country. It's up to your imagination what that means
