The first buck was at least 4 in my opinion. If he makes it to five or six... OMG! Ethan, you are having the best encounters in the deer woods right now. Good Lord, the bucks you have seen. Good stuff! Keep it coming
Wow what a stare down from the 9:10 mark to 10:38… frozen in time with no movement on his part…and truly a deer in headlights moment sort of say… awesome Buck too… great video Ethan 👍
Wow! Great bucks! I also believe that first buck is 4 1/2. The 2nd buck has me a little stumped. Very wide in the front but lean in the stomach and smaller hind quarters. A little long legged in the back as well. It's very typical of a 3 1/2. No way is he 3 1/2 though. He doesn't have the rectangular shape of a 4 1/2 either. He is probably 5 1/2, just smaller in the back. Good luck Ethan! Keep the great footage coming!
Late to the party here Ethan but I agree. First thought I had was that he looked young and probably 3. NE Iowa bucks like that usually would lead people to believe they are older just because of the sheer bigger body size overall. Either way 3 or 4, its a good deer to pass! Keep grinding my friend! Cant wait to see the big one hit the dirt with you behind him. You know which one I'm talking about!
Incredible video Ethan, if that first buck was a 3 year old, I hope we get to see him at 5!! The buck in the corn field was a beauty too, hopefully you have another encounter with him!!
I agree. I don't own any land, but I have some great neighbors that communicate well, and heck even if they do shoot them, I will be super happy for them!
I think you’re right 3.5 all day. no belly, legs still look long. Man i love Iowa! I’ve hunted there twice in south central part of the state. It’s a whitetail hunter's Disneyland!
I would agree with you, he’s a good 3.5 yr old stud, going to be awesome to see what he blows up like next season, still banking on you getting the Flyer buck, good luck Ethan
@@ethan_stubbsI know what you mean, I got one doing the same for me too, guess that’s what makes it addicting, but it only takes a minute, think positive
Damn Ethan, your blessed to be out here on your own filming yourself. You really make Bills farm look like sht on your own channel. Hahaha, great content man.
Awesome footage Ethan! Everyone busting on Bill. I can tell you my season here in WV has been miserable, and I know without a doubt mature bucks are around. This has just been a different year, possibly due to the extreme drought and record breaking high temperatures through October and the first half of November. Not sure what’s going on with Bill’s farm, but this has been a weird season, and a lot of hunters around the region here have been seeing the same thing, especially in the big woods. Not so much ag land. I think the lack of accessible water has a lot to do with it. Haven’t seen anything like it in my 40 years of hunting the WV mountains.
If there's anyone who's not out of the game yet, it's Bill. I would not want to be on his hit list. Stay after it! In a few months we'll be wishing it was November!
Nice video when you snort weird he turned and look you had his attention if you would have had s buck decoy he would have come to the fight 71 now had plenty come to fight even had a old spike come in to fight he had 16 inch spikes when he came in he meant business tks for the video good job may God bless you and family.
First buck very nice looks 3 1/2 but it is so hard unless you have history with him in the previous year . If ya have pics of him with definite 2 year olds that could also help ya . The body size of 3 to 4 on most deer at least on my farm in Ohio is not a lot i have experienced hunters hunting with me that have mistaken 4 year olds for 3 year olds this year luckily I have history with the deer in question and am confident they are 4 . Hopefully he makes it because from 3 to 4 at least on my farm is when they blow up 95 percent of the time and he’ll be a giant .. you’ll know next year if he makes it . 🤞
I agree with many others, both deer are no more than 3.5 yr olds. The big buck just didn't have the heavy belly or the body language of anything older. Nice deep chest, but somewhat lean otherwise. Outstanding buck for sure and he will be spectacular next year if you can keep hunting him.
Yea, I think that first buck was a 3.5 yr old. Just didn’t have the body size to be older. Good luck on that big boy. He’s definitely a shooter. You had a good day in the stand.
I would hate to guess on an actual percentage, but the Rut is starting to wear on them. They will do a lot of searching in the next 10 days, and then there will be a complete mindset switch back to food.
3.5 How ever where I hunt it’s a shooter. 3 1/2 months of Archery & 1 month of gun. Wish I can name em and watch them grow from year to year Just so over hunted Thanks for sharing
I think you're right. In Iowa, Gun season opes a tick later this year on Dec 7 I believe. I will be hunting until then with the stick and string! Thanks for watching.
Bill is hunting one particular buck "The Jordan Buck" and he has some beautiful 3 year old that will put him right back in the chips in two years. Plus, bill has killed enough trophy deer to last a lifetime. He's doing more teaching than hunting right now in which a lot of people appreciate. Respect the old school
Woodland- Agreed. Bill is a wealth of knowledge that is always teaching. I really enjoyed filming and becoming friends with him. One of the best guys out there!

Thanks for watching! It has been a fun, but frustrating season.
AHHH. I LOVE the staredown/faceoff moment@! Good Stuff brother!
It was a fun hunt! Thanks for watching.
Wow what a stare down from the 9:10 mark to 10:38… frozen in time with no movement on his part…and truly a deer in headlights moment sort of say… awesome Buck too… great video Ethan 👍
I agree. I chose not to edit that one out, just for the sheer suspense and intensity. It's fun to watch a deer in their natural element.
@@ethan_stubbs and for you not to move for that length of time was awesome too… that was awesome for sure… great vid for sure 👍

My guess is 4.5. I have 2 years of photos. I would say stomach is sucked in from the rut, but I could be wrong.
Awesome , really enjoyed the sounds of nature on that hunt, kinda like JARED MILLS. Good luck
Thanks for watching. Have a great day.
Man that decoy might have been the trick that time.🤷♂️Glad you held on to your grunt tube. 🤣 Love watching your videos.
Ha! Thanks for watching. When you don't have it, you need it, and when you don't need it, you have it! I'm struggling!
Man I was thinking that deer was a stud 3.5 too. Awesome video again
I'm hoping he makes it a few more years. He has a ton of potential.
No doubt

He's a cool buck. I think a lot of the time you can tell maturity from their snout alone. A block headed whitetail is what I'm after!

South central Iowa is next level! Good luck next time you're in the "Holy Land!"
Great hunt! Maybe a buck decoy to pull him in?
I think that would have sealed the deal!
Awesome hunts. You're hunting around world class deer.
Definitely. God bless Iowa whitetails.
I would agree with you, he’s a good 3.5 yr old stud, going to be awesome to see what he blows up like next season, still banking on you getting the Flyer buck, good luck Ethan
Thanks for the comment Jim! Flyer has been pretty inconsistent unfortunately. He’s smart in his old age.

Are you hunting the flyer buck? You seem to be in a different set of woods than the flyer buck @@ethan_stubbs
@@ethan_stubbsI know what you mean, I got one doing the same for me too, guess that’s what makes it addicting, but it only takes a minute, think positive
I haven't been hunting the flyer buck very often. Unfortunately he just doesn't use my property very much during the season.
Damn Ethan, your blessed to be out here on your own filming yourself. You really make Bills farm look like sht on your own channel. Hahaha, great content man.
Bill's farm is incredible. He is working hard and will get it turned around. I wouldn't bet against him!

@@ethan_stubbsSame in my area. The temps haven't dropped below 50 at night. I don't know whether to hunt or mow my lawn 😂
I think he's 4, awesome buck. Grest video Ethan.
Thanks Mitchell, I appreciate the support!
Two very nice bucks. Great video.
Thanks for watching. Have a great week.
@@ethan_stubbs you too.
Thats definitely a shooter where I'm from! To me it looks like a 4 year old. Nice footage Ethan.
Thanks JJ, have a great evening.
and that is exactly why I hunt with a rifle....good video and hope you can recoup and close the deal
The hunt begins when they get in bow range :) thanks for the support. Good luck this season!
Insane if he's only 3.5 but I do think you're right. I can only hope and wish to be able to pass a buck like that in the future!!!
Hopefully it pays off!
Excellent footage Ethan
Thank you. I appreciate the support.

He's actually Blind in his left eye. A decoy would have sealed the deal.
Great video for sure.
Thanks Ron, have a great deer.
Talk about a deer with potential 😳
Definitely! Fingers crossed.

I believe the 12 to be a 4.5 year old. I have two years of pics, thats the reason for my belief. It will be interesting to see him again either way!
@@ethan_stubbs Well heck with pics it's an easy decision. He's a dandy no doubt!
Yea, I think that first buck was a 3.5 yr old. Just didn’t have the body size to be older. Good luck on that big boy. He’s definitely a shooter. You had a good day in the stand.

Great call 3.5 mega giant potential
Absolutely. Lets hope it pays off!
Yea that buck looks like a 3.5 based on his body
I think he is 4.5 based on trail cam pics but so tough to say!
How much body mass have those bucks lost by this point?
I would hate to guess on an actual percentage, but the Rut is starting to wear on them. They will do a lot of searching in the next 10 days, and then there will be a complete mindset switch back to food.
Been a tough going for me. Many sits yet have nothing to show for but a tag and exhaustion.
I feel you there. I'm hoping the grind will be rewarded.
Nice buck! Think a decoy would've helped?
100%. He is Blind in his left eye, but some sort of added realism would've helped a ton.
Sure like your footage. What kind of camo you wearing?
Thank you Josh. The camo I'm wearing is called Tuo Gear. Link in my description.
IA - land of the giants! I'm packing up the fam and leaving MN
Ha. Seriously?
Matt, Iowa is no good. I have heard Minnesota is much better, no need to leave :) Thanks for watching!
3.5

Thanks for watching.
Gun season dropping below 30 degree temps for the first time all year is going to be immaculate. Dumb, tired, cold, hungry deer.
I think you're right. In Iowa, Gun season opes a tick later this year on Dec 7 I believe. I will be hunting until then with the stick and string! Thanks for watching.
I’d agree with 3
Thanks for watching!
🔥
Good start to peak rut
3 yr old. No doubt. Unbelievable
He's a stud! He will be tough to pass next year.
I agree that buck is a 3 year old.
It will be fun to see what he turns in to. Thanks for watching!
No episodes lately ????
Should have one coming in the next day or two. Pretty slow action for me!
@ I’m assuming you’ve been hunting ?? I would still watch your videos even if you’re not seeing anything, that’s the reality of hunting. Good luck 🍀
There’s no way im passing an opportunity with that first buck that came in, don’t know how you can let ‘em walk, great hunt though
It helps a lot when I have the camera. That way I can relive it in a different way!
Gonna say 3.5. Great pass!
Thanks for Watching Brent. It'll be fun to see what he grows in to.
Both of these deer are 3.5yrs old. Good footage though! I’m in hancock co. Illinois. Been super slow past 6 days. Gun season is going to be fire
I think the 12 is older than that based off of 2 years of pics. I would say 4.5. Thanks for watching! Weather looks good.
What’s that jacket you’re wearing? Interesting camo pattern. He looks older by a touch. 4, I think
Tuo Gear is the brand of apparel I'm wearing.
4
Thanks for watching Rick, have a great evening!
Glad we have you to watch Ethan, Bill is getting a little boring.
Thanks for watching Mike! Bill is a legend and has a lot more to provide than just deer encounters. I am always learning when I watch his content.
You should take Bill, looks as tho his deer left the county.
Yeah, Bill could benefit from his protege knowledge. 😊
We always had fun in the stand! Maybe I can swing up and film him a few days this late season!
Haha, not so sure about that! I will take his advice any day on how to tag one of these deer!
