    That’s cool you showed Scott’s cold war motor t shirt on the car he built. Extremely underrated show. An incredible and gifted metal shaper. If you watch the playlist on that car you will be hooked on the channel

    I am constantly amazed at your ability to "make" parts that you need and that they fit so well. Great job, the nomad will look just fine on the road.

      Well Lewis, if you are amazed at his ability to make parts by this backyard mechanic , then your mind would be blown if you watched German versions of this type of channel. Rebuilding old Mercedes-Benz where no parts are available.... are made. I am German/Austrian and enjoy DD SPEEDSHOP, I watch in Hamburg,DE occasionally

    28:18 I love this part. Dani looks so worried at the beginning then the rolling eyes and humoring Dan! Dani you’re so sweet to help and put up with him. He’s trying to be as nice, sweet and funny as he can. Just a very cute couple.

    Dan, I commented the other day about my "56" Nomad that I had for 32 years and never finished. I regret that I didn't get it on the road like you did this one and made it a work in progress. I ended up selling it and never finished it. I won't make that mistake again. An old dog can learn new tricks. I have a "63" Falcon Convertible and I drive it while I'm bringing it back to it's previous splendor. I call her "Ruby". She's Fire engine red and she's a gem. God bless. 👍🙂

    I know it's not done, but it's amazing to see the transformation this has gone through. I remember when you first got it I was thinking "man this guy is as crazy as I am".. but you've saved it which is awesome. Us guys that live in the rust belt have to deal with what we can get our hands on.

  • @hubiesgarage
    @hubiesgarage 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Looking great Dan! To think where this car was to where it is today is a major victory, and that's coming from a Tri-Five Guy! MadMooks is the guy to fix the rear window frame and Don's Hot Rod Garage actually has a 55-57 Nomad Curved glass install explained on his '57 Nomad from 1 year ago where he uses the curved sandwich plate to hold the curved glass in place. Sounds like you are using all the right guys for references. As far as the taillights, blue dots rule!

    I watched this video for entertainment when it was first posted. Fast forward to now and I’m looking at a “rolling basket case” ‘55 Nomad with ALL trim out and piled in the back. I just rewatched this and now I have a better understanding of what I’m looking for as I go through the pile. VERY HELPFUL!

    Just wanted to let you how much I appreciate your approach to expensive parts. That’s the way I did it back when I had project cars. My last one was a trashed ‘95 BMW convertible. Almost everything I put on it came from Ace Hardware or BiMart. Topped it off with a roller Rustoleum paint job. Looked damn good, too.

    The Nomad is looking good. tail light wise, Having been 16 in 1966, blue dots would have been the starting point. Personally I prefer the solid red ones. But add blue dots to those, you got something. Nice purple full tail lights from further back! The green glass was the right choice!

    Before I finish this vid I had to come comment. Tuesday I went for a ride in the weewoo wagon and spent 4 days in the people garage dealing with a badly clogged intake system. I lived and am home and bingeing Dan and enjoying the hell out of Dan bashing the bashers. This thing is and always was a NomadStein not a restoration. I love the look, there is protected metal for pretty cheap and you can spend paint money on performance or AC for that Tri 5 Nationals date or power tour. With all the other cars you have to cruise you might decide this thing should put some money in your pocket at some point and let that dude paint it his color. So much comedy genius here lately. Thanks Dan the Hotrod Hayzeus lol

  • @rodrigomacchiavello8960
    @rodrigomacchiavello8960 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello!!! here we are, I understand the reason for the patina, and it is true that although it looks very good, it is far from being a museum piece, and the truth is that cars must be enjoyed without restrictions, and patina is cheap... Maybe it's better to invest in conductivity!!!! I love how it is turning out!!! is taking shape!!! I congratulate you, go ahead with everything! regards....

    You were apologizing on the live about the video being long.... well i thought it was great! There was a lot of stuff to cover and you kept me pinned to the screen watching.....waiting... for broken glass.... hahaha. No, really, there's a lot going on installing that stuff, talk about tedious!! Definitely makes the look of the car! I had ordered clear glass for my '50 F1, Now you got me thinking green is the way to go with my 56 Fairlane that I hadn't ordered yet. Thinking Danni's arms were getting quite the workout there with the lift gate install! She's a trooper and a keeper!!!

    I have found is that old window screen like the metal screen from old school storm windows and summer screen works very well at reenforcing JB weld repairs. Sand down the area where the repair will be in the hidden side remove a decent amount of the meterial so you can lay the window screen in a skin coat of JB weld then put more on top n then when dry you can sand repair back level with surrounding meterial n it's almost invisible if done well and extremely strong

Sweet car man I’m looking into buying a 55 chevy gasser soon myself. Found one with a cream white body and green with gold metal flake top that was meant to be a driver. Interesting color combo to say the least. Can’t wait to see the nomad on the road buddy keep up the good work and loving the content
