Aww Sweet pup! Happy Birthday Mochi! 🎉I heard the concern in your voice. I can relate. My puppy was attacked at a doggie daycare and ended up losing his left eye. He was 5 months old when that happened and I’m still traumatized sometimes when I remember the incident. He’s perfectly happy and healthy, but I can relate in leaving your pup in someone else’s care and them suffering a traumatic event. 😢I’m so glad he’s okay. I take Milo to petsmart for grooming but the last time I took him, I was less with impressed with the service and I cancelled his most recent appointment. I bathe him myself and sometimes he lets me “tidy his face” by clipping with scissors. I will take him for grooming next month for his 1st birthday but more than likely it won’t be at petsmart.
I’m so sorry he got sick. Shih Tzus are known for digestive issues and also get really upset when mistreated. I was worried about the cake. I groom my dogs myself. If you have to go to a groomer ask if you can stay. That way you’ll know what’s traumatizing him and he definitely won’t be mistreated if you are there. I did that a few times and it was great because I learned to do it myself by watching. My dogs hated the cage they put them in with heavy duty hair dryers. It really freaked them out. I use a regular hair dryer on low heat and a medium flow. I also use thinning shears to cut their hair. I only use a razor for the feet and tummy area. Jade, You are so welcome. I wanted to let you know that TEMU has great inexpensive grooming tools, toys and coats as well as other pet products. They come within about 2 weeks. I’ve had 3 Shih Tzus over 30 years. My new baby boy is 4 months old and a monster at 4.4 Lbs. i can’t wait until he’s a year old and mellows out!❤️
