Congrats ! I got a puppy too and let me tell you it’s like having a baby 😂 mine will be 4 months next week and I’m happy we got all his vaccines so we can take him outside now
I mix in freshly cooked rice with the wet food...the dry food I add a little water to soften it and I mix all 3 together, the soften dry, a little rice and wet food....they are picky....and now he will leave the 3 part mixture because of the dry mixture...and truthfully, I probably spoiled him...he got used to the cooked rice & wet food mixture...he loves it....
I am so like you. It is a big responsibility! Like a child. Makes pulling the trigger hard. All the concerns ...being able to devote enough attention to them, training, do you do doggy daycare if you have to work outside the home.... on and on. Really smart you're taking it seriously. He went in the cage all my himself as soon as I brought him home! I did find feeding him treats in and around him cage help get him more comfortable though. Every time he went into the cage I say “yes!” and reward him with a treat so he has positive reinforcement with the cage. I hope that works for you and good luck!!
Moochie is so cute!! I got a cavapoo puppy in January and he refused to go or stay in his crate. He was not having it. Lol! My puppy also has that same blue pup toy and he loves it too! Enjoy him! They grow so fast! Milo is 15 weeks old now 🐶🐾💙
Thank you! On his first night he willingly went into the cage but it helped me to give him treats every time he went into the cage willingly to enforce positive reinforcements when doing so 💕 I also heard people recommending feeding in/around the cage but Mochi did not like that lol!
Awwww he’s preciousssss 🥺 he’s the same breed as my lil pookie! Those dogs are so smart, if you stick to a schedule he’ll learn so fast. And playing with his paws and ears early is so helpful for grooming. Ugh he’s adorable:(
I like the video!.....I found a Shih Tzu about 5 months ago, hes a brindle cream color with hints of beige, absolutely adorable!!........he had no tag or chip....the 1st day I took him home after a trip(s) to the groomers& vet for shots.......the vet said he was approx. 10 months old or so....he only used the pee pads once..and chewed the rest up every nite...so I stopped putting them down)....there were a couple of incidents on the carpet....only because being a new owner of a dog....I didnt realized that I needed to get him on a schedule to go outside.....he happpened to be already house trained ...they are very smart & very intuitive.....I discovered after the first day that he was hearing impaired....he hears very little...he doesnt hear loud noises....he watches me very intensely....now I know why....he can feel vibrations of course....so between that and him watching me....we have worked out a couple of signals....the previous owners may not have realized that he couldnt hear...or maybe he got loose and ran away...??....Im not sure......but in any event he is in his forever home❤

Start early on grooming the puppy. It will get the puppy used to the process and make it less stressful for it.
Between, if you haven't. Brush their teeth 2 times a day! So he doesn't get gum infections
