My retired parents have this car and they love it. Basic a perfect car for people who want comfort and decent luxury in an EV. The only issue is those wheels with the plastic inserts...when it gets hot in the summer that plastic expands and starts to creak and crack, and at low speeds it's really noticable and sounds like you're driving over bubble wrap. Something to be aware of for any potential buyers.
There’s a reason this is the best seller. What a stunning design this SUV has inside and out. Very elegant and uniquely Cadillac. I was genuinely surprised to like the Optiq as much as I do, but I’m very excited for the release of the larger VISTIQ and Escalade _IQ._
What i like about GM is they are not cutting the design expenses by sharing the body design in gas and electric version like what BMW does with 4,5 and 7 series. They are spending a lot of money to design and have different body style for their EV's.
@@arminpoorfard306 I agree, their decision to develop a bespoke EV platform from the ground up has paid off exponentially. Took A LOT more money and time to get started but now that production has ramped up _Ultium_ will pay off for *gm* in a huge way.

Very true, I just wish Buick didn't lose its identity of a smooth ride, my girlfriend has a 2002 Buick Century and the suspension is awesome, it floats over potholes. And because the suspension is so smooth the car rattles less bangs around less and is quieter in the cabin. And no I'm not an old man I'm a college student
Why do most manufacturers put the seat controls on the side of the seat where you have to blindly feel for them. I love that Caddy has put them on the side of the door.
You know guys how I love when you review Cadillac… I already told you about my loyalty and passion to it. You really elaborate its luxury so nice and LYRIQ speaks of itself so elegantly.
This is another great overview of a car I am interested in. Wow, Cadillac or GM really did an incredible job designing this car. The color you chose to show is really different and almost back in the day when you had some beautiful colors of cars, like back in the 70"s for example! As someone who has worked with banks to develop easy-to-use web or app financial tools, you guys can do a video on things like Lease, Buy, Buy used, etc. I thought about this when you showed some of the graphs you created and I think adding more of this type of thing adds even more to what you do. Great job, keep doing these.
I have had my Lyriq for 7 months now. It's by and large been great. The negatives are that you need to pay an extra $25-50/month for a wifi service to be able to use the Google features, which voice control a lot of the features of the car. So unless you do this the voice control button on your steering wheel is useless. Also if you want to get something out of the glove box, you will need to start the car and go to the screen to unlock it, seems unnecessary .
Cadillac did a fantastic job. Now with the recent announcement of the Optic, it has std heated, cooled, massage seats, super cruise and AKG speakers! Cadillac needs to do the same in streamlining the Lyric with standard equipment like the cheaper Optic.
I’m looking at EVs and I will definitely will be looking at this model in a few years on the used market mainly because GM has apparently decided to ditch CarPlay going forward. Hopefully they’ll rethink that decision sooner than later because for many, no CarPlay is a deal killer.
This is the most appealing color to me. I am seriously considering this vehicle within the next 6-12 months. The range and power along with a smooth ride sound attractive. I love EVs.
Great review guys! I just picked up my Oppulent Blue AWD Sport 3 (500hp). The Lyric is luxe-elegant, interior/exterior character lines emotionally connects (heart skips a beat when I see the back/front led-lighting cinematic choreography dance). After 20+ years with German & Sweeden ICE's as my daily, I'm now a believer of EV & Cadillac engineering! Cadillac 2024 rebates ($$), luxe/bespoke interior materials, retractable sunroof, night gloss 22s, ambient lighting galore, true hands-free SUPER CRUISE, & now able to use Tesla charging network, the Lyric satisfied all my tech and driving emotion requirements. Pray bless live love life IN LYRIC LUXE (PBL3-Ly-Luxe).
When are you going to test the AWD. And yes I bought the AWD Lyriq. I know the numbers but how does it feel as opposed the other brands? Nice channel by the way.
I got this colored Lyric and love it! It has been excellent so far! Traded our aged Escalade for this and we’re very happy with it. Is it perfect? No, but it’s a great vehicle which they can expand and improve on. Biggest grip is the piano black trim and the angle of the polished aluminum bezel around the climate controls; the glare from it can be blinding during certain times of the day
I am hardly a Gm fan. My parents once, years ago, bought a used 1964 Pontiac Parisienne with an inline 6 which was a boat but had old school dna baked in. A cool car. GM has always promised this and that but rarely really delivered the goods. They did produce a few good models over the years as most auto companies invariably do. With this Cadillac they are showing some thinking that reflects the old ways. As has been said it’s not trying to be a sport/European machine. The styling and execution speaks volumes about hard earned lessons, of which they had mostly forgotten over the last 40 years. Never will buy an GM cars but I wish them well with this one. It where they should have pointed the brand years ago.
got my sport 3 in may. loving every minute in this car. Test drove all electric SUV brands (ford, hyundai, acura, lexus, etc. ) and nothing even comes close.
I saw on on a dealer lot, and it was surprisingly long. (It's within a few inches of a Toyota Sienna.) Surprising how little cargo space, given the massive size. 21 cubic feet behind the second row is not even close to a Forester, RAV4, CX-5, CX-50, Outback, or CRV. (Not in the same class, of course, but still, these are much smaller outside and have more room inside. I guess they used some for the NBA level rear leg room.) This fall, a smaller Caddy EV will debut. Looks like they did a pretty good job on the EV drivetain.
I absolutely love this vehicle! I was lucky enough to go to the launch up here, and immediately fell in love with it! I would absolutely buy this! It is pure luxury for all ages! I just wish they didn't remove the amber rear signals for North America and made the whole rear lamp units the signals. This is something that really needs to stop happening here.
It's such an old school thing to do now but I notice everyone starts off the reviews for GM electric vehicles opening the hood. They know it's just a cover but I notice that seems to be the go to starting point. You can't miss what you never had so it is not an issue for me. A nice bonus for sure but it isn't any kind of deal breaker. Now with that done can we talk about that color! OMG it is stunning. You did a great review but I think you are off the mark about some of the functions being in the screen. 1 how many time do we adjust our light switch when you have auto? Be honest. How many time do you open your glove box.....almost never but if you do it is nice to have the security of it being locked out from thieves. They did that stuff excellent so I totally disagree with you on that point.

Exterior looks great, unique styling. Interior is ok.. looks very cadillac brougham like.. LCD is large but the carplay window did not use the full screen, looks off kilter... 196" long is 3 row CUV length, but only 21 cu ft behind 2nd row is tiny...
"why is there not a glovebox switch" I want to agree with you, but even that is too much. Why can't I just pull on the glovebox lever and open it??? These glovebox releases have turned something so simple into something complicated.
Love this car. I'm just not ready to go electric. If it were ICE, I'd be all over it. The XT4/5 are ok, but not on the same level in terms of style (in my opinion). I hope this does well for Cadillac.
