My first date was back to the beach. We were only 9 years old, but we were as in love as 9 year olds could be. Such a great, innocent time. Life was just perfect.
I remember my folks having showtime in 88 I got chicken pox that summer and watched back to the beach like 20 times I love that movie but wasn't till a few years later I got most of the jokes but when I learned about ska music and 8 months later figuring out they weren't saying jamaica sky but ska Still love you Annette
This tv show was never on here in Australia, but thanks for uploading this tv show I go to the movies at Randwick Ritz Cinema usually on Tuesday mornings. Wayne Holmes proudly from Sydney, Australia.
I remember"Rainbow Whistle" when it first came out. Pretty brave choice for them to start the episode with a minute -long, uninterrupted clip of this much-misunderstood film.
i dont love "Dirty Dancing" but i also have never disliked it, of course i admittedly have a weakness for those 50s and 60s nostalgia films made during the 70s and 80s. i grew up on those films and have a rose colored fantasy image on the 50s and 60s now. which i guess is sort of like all these 30 year olds i see that have some fondness for everything 80s which is when i actually grew up and also love. which of course means i also have a spft spot for "Back To The Beach" which i actually havent watched in a very long time, i might have to dig that one back out. it also had me curious for "Nadine" because my first thought whenever i hear that name is the excellent Chuck Berry song. so its sort of a whole 50s/60s themed episode for me, which takes me back to my childhood in the 80s, which is when it actually aired so that also takes me back to my childhood. and now somehow my parents boomer generations nostalgia is also my nostalgia. this is some weird confusing back to the future stuff happening.
Yeah, people can do what they want with their bodies, and the Hollywood pressure to look a certain way is enormous, but it's still sad-her nose was part of what made her look so distinctive. I knew a girl in high school with a similar nose, even more prominent. She was hella cute, nose and all, but she got hers done as well.
I love Nadine! Dirty Dancing and 1987 was a great year for movies in the theater ❤ I didn’t like robocop lol, it was double featured with Dirty Dancing! Imagine what my life would’ve been
What was Paramount's best movie of the summer of 1987 that caused Roger to hedge? Wiki lists BEVERLY HILLS COP II, THE UNTOUCHABLES and SUMMER SCHOOL, none of which he liked.
He might have meant The Untouchables. Although Ebert didn’t care for it that much, Siskel did love it to pieces, and that was probably why he hedged. He probably thought Siskel was going to object to that statement so he was trying to be careful.
Back to the beach was an interesting spoof so it was entertaining.but siskel and ebert are of that generation(a period piece)they didn't grow up with the TV show Brady bunch ,, a show which they did not understand,so that is why they panned it as movie with thumbs down.there is a generational bias from them sometimes in their reviews.....
What's to understand about Eyes Wide Shut-Tom Cruise spent 3 hours trying to get laid with nothing happening! I think Stanley Kubrick purposely made a piece of crap just to see if critics would go gaga over it! If you liked this movie then you like watching paint dry.
Siskel was in so love with Jennifer Grey and I believe its the only reason he gave Dirty Dancing a thumbs up. She was hot back then. Idk why she got that awful nose job. Her bigger nose was part of her quirky charm.
Speaking of the Orville Redenbacher clip we have on here, I always thought it was an actor until I was told otherwise. Also, the whole bit about the top of the popper being blown off is dumb because that would just make a mess to begin with, so why would you want that to happen?
settle down guys back to the beach is good but don't even try to compare it to grease.dirty dancing another classic 80's film. the other two no thanks.
I agreed with Siskel and Ebert about "Nadine". I didn't laugh once or twice. The two main characters are boring, the script is phony, and the story was flawed. I kind of liked it a lot bit, but humbs down for me to "Nadine".

Back To The Beach is such a fun movie. I agree with them - I couldn't believe how entertaining it was.
Yeah, only problem with it is a murderer appears in an unbilled cameo.
@@sha11235 Yeah but in all fairness, he hadn't murdered anybody yet.
isent pee wee herman in it?
It makes me happy to know that my favourite movie critic Roger Ebert also hates Dirty Dancing
Right on about Back to the Beach. It's hysterical.
I remember my folks having showtime in 88 I got chicken pox that summer and watched back to the beach like 20 times I love that movie but wasn't till a few years later I got most of the jokes but when I learned about ska music and 8 months later figuring out they weren't saying jamaica sky but ska

So glad they liked back to the beach. It’s very much fun
that first minute owns
It brought tears of joy to my eye.

How big a name is Lyndall Hobbs there?
Dirty Dancing is better for the music than the actual movie So many hit songs of the 80s including Swayze She's like the wind his only song

Thanks again. Now I know where you have gotten these from so I have gone over there and watched many of them. Great that someone came up with this.
RIP Jennifer Grey's nose.

Thanks so much for uploading these videos war guild buddy!
Thanks for posting!
Back To The Beach 🏖 went straight to video in the UK. Never released at the cinema.
RIP Patrick Swayze
Siskel was in love with Jennifer Grey lol.
Me too. I was bummed when she got the nose job, I have a thing for Jewish girls and I'm a gentile.
Do you blame him?
Yes,..... Jews love jews
Siskel always points out actresses that turn him on, I notice.
Cheers War Guild you legend
I love Nadine! Dirty Dancing and 1987 was a great year for movies in the theater ❤
I didn’t like robocop lol, it was double featured with Dirty Dancing! Imagine what my life would’ve been
Is this the most seething animosity they ever televised?
RIP ANNETTE FUNICELLO
LOL oh! I gotta agree with Ebert on Dirty Dancing. I HATED that movie, not that Ebert did but I could never agree with Siskel on this one.

Back to the Beach was hilarious!!
Dirty Dancing may have been predictable but it was a huge hit with audiences and was the biggest movie that summer with a monster soundtrack!
I was grinding my teeth while watching Eyes Wide Shut thinking there's 3 hours I'll never get back! :( :(
@@Winnipegger100 good. Stick to movies you can understand

Beverly Hills Cop II would like to have a word with you.
Was that Vincent price in the commercial for tilex? That's sad.
Yup.
He made a grave error in judgment.
I love Back To The Beach... but "maybe better than Grease"? Slow down, Gene.
Ebert didn't like dirty dancing... You can never predict what he will like. It's not a genre I seek out but it's competently done, for what it is.
Back to the Beach 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟
Nadine 👎🌟
Dirty Dancing 👍🌟🌟🌟
Rita, Sue & Bob Too! 👎🌟🌟
That first minute was painful to my ears. That is the most noxious noise imaginable.
Siskel was in so love with Jennifer Grey and I believe its the only reason he gave Dirty Dancing a thumbs up. She was hot back then. Idk why she got that awful nose job. Her bigger nose was part of her quirky charm.
Grey has stated getting her nose "fixed" has been the worst mistake of her life.
Same thought. She did NOT need a nose job
Speaking of the Orville Redenbacher clip we have on here, I always thought it was an actor until I was told otherwise. Also, the whole bit about the top of the popper being blown off is dumb because that would just make a mess to begin with, so why would you want that to happen?
The picture in the thumbnail looks like two separate faces morphed together.
fuck off
Wow-- I had no idea they were going to praise Back to the Beach.
I had no idea I would be praising it either. I was caught completely off-guard by it.
@@ronaldh8446 agreed. I saw it when it came out and couldn’t believe how funny it was
