Hello, I'm Ellen Goldberg and I welcome you to this Terro Moment from the School of Oracles. This segment is about how to shuffle and cut the cards. Well there are many ways, and it's nice to have a few different ways at your disposal so that you can choose, sometimes just on your mood and sometimes on the requirements of a particular layout. We'll be having segments on different layouts that you can do as well in this series. But this moment is really about shuffling itself. If you are a little bit more adept at shuffling cards, you might like to do it in that very nice way that we do when we're playing cards. Like that. I like to do that four times when I shuffle them in that manner. For each letter for the name of God: yod, hey, vav, and hey. Of course that's in Hebrew. But there are simple ways. The main thing is when you shuffle, have an intention. I like to announce to the cards when I mix them. Exactly what layout I'm gonna do, who I am; we're gonna have a segment on how to choose an significator as well meaning the card that represents yourself, and how you're going to shuffle. One of the most easy ways, I call going fishing. I put the cards on the table and I strat to move them around. You don't have to be fancy but notice I move them, I'm giving them a chance to find different borders. I'm giving them an opportunity to be up-right or reversed and then when I've moved them to my hearts content; and remember this is a short video so I'm not going to move them around very much, you can take as long or as short as you like. Choosing when you're going fishing is a non rational process, so you have to trust that whatever card you're attracted to that's the card for you. In fact I often tell my students, "you can not do it wrong." Say I was going to pick a card for myself for Whats My Lesson for Today. I would have moved them around if I'm just going fishing and then I find myself attracted to one. And lucky me it's the ten of pentacles. Why, it's the ultimate in the lord of wealth and the lord of well being. I know today is going to go very well for me, it's a rich day.
We have another segment on how to use reverse cards. You could pull maybe 10, 20 cards this way if you're doing a longer more involved layout. It's perfectly fine. Sometimes I use the round and round method which I like to think of all the ingredients of life being stirred in a big cauldron, and I stir my question into the cards which I have announced to the cards silently from my heart. I stir it in as though it were and ingredient in the stew of life and I want it to be well mixed so that I combine methods. Certainly one can do go fishing just any old time, but sometimes that's just step one for me. Then after I've moved them round and round, I bring them together and I don't worry to much. I put them together in a pile. Notice how I get the bottom ones nice and solid on the table and the ones tthat have stayed upright I turn to the side and bring them together. Now I'm ready to do any number of other kinds of cuts. One is I take them and I spread them like a rainbow ark on the table, and in that way I then let my hand or encourage the person who I'm reading for, to move their hand back and forth across the cards. Sometimes I'll feel more heat, sometimes I'll feel a little vibration, sometimes it's not that at all. Remember choosing is non rational. I'll just be attracted to a card, one will peek out at me and for some reason I want it. And I will choose. Say I'm doing a three card reading. I pull one. I go back and I feel for the next I pull two, and I go back; say I'm doing a little three card reading, and I pull the third. Turning them over is important. I like to always turn them over from them side, bcause I like them to be in the very same way that the Terro has presented them. Here is a little message for me. In the center we see the card of great contentment, but it's reversed. Maybe I'm too worried and not content about my work today. I may have started out, here's that maybe the past and the future all unsure. Maybe avoiding some things, but I'm gonna wind up strong and powerful, and working with the subconscious in a very good way. I don’t want to seem over excited or anything but like I’m a newbie when it comes to Tarot and only recently have I bought my first deck.
After watching this video I felt encouraged to spread my cards on table and pass my hand over them. For some reason I felt quite a strong heat coming from one of them. It was an eight of wands which means that have or will receive great news about about an exiting trip or project.
The funny thing is I had just received the great news that I’m going on a trip to Italy a few hours prior.
I now know that I will always believe in fate.
I have archangel tarot cards 😊 still a beginner myself I usually spread mine out as well and then pick the ones that stand out 😊 been trying to practice practice practice! 😊

I've actually been reading for years now (and have recently started doing so professionally), and I was pleasantly surprised when I watched this! She verbalized all of the things that I have been intuitively doing from the beginning, like setting my intention by actually telling my Highest Self/my Guides the spread I'm about to do, and turning it over to them as I pull the cards. It was nice to hear someone actually SAY it, you know? I can't wait to watch her other videos!
That's interesting. I've been finding that as well from many of my spiritual practices and understandings I've had from a very young age without physical guidance. They've recently been confirmed by so many high sources of information. Sooo re-assuring to say the least...

@@coracarlieshow9218 The spread you're about to do refers to what layout you'll use as you draw the cards and lay them out on the table. The three card 'spread' shown in the video (albeit with them all side by side) is just one example!

I have severe arthritis pain in my hands and fingers, and shuffling is very tricky for me. I can barely "poker" shuffle, anymore. Especially with the bigger decks. Recently I've been trying out the "rifle" shuffle, but because of my pain, it's rather awkward for me, and I end up dropping about a dozen cards... LOL! I've been just building three piles and then putting them all back together again, starting with the middle pile. Maybe I'll try this techniques, but I don't usually read reversals. Thanks for the video, it's the first one I've seen about this.

Normally, when reading, you would read from the perspective of the person that you're reading for. She was "reading" for us, so she looked at the cards from our perspective. x

Since beginning I've been having very surreal dreams sometimes often quite a frightening feeling that wakes me from my sleep i wondered if this has happened to yourself or have heard of other people having same experiences i would love your insight into this if possible love Paul x
Hi Paul. I am just getting into tarot too and a few days ago had a flash in mind's eye of ace of cups. Tarot symbolism is so rich, and goes so deeply into subconscious. Very interesting you started dreaming in these symbols. You can use the tarot as a starting point to open up your subconscious and communicate with your Higher Self. Until of course you start communing directly with your Higher Self, but tarot might help you facilitate this. If you r interested in lucid dreaming I cannot recommend more highly Robert Waggoner's wonderful book Lucid Dreaming, Gateway to the Inner Self" I wish I could advise you about when dreams become too uncomfortable but am not qualified in this way. Dr Waggoner's book could possibly b a source of guidance. I always ask Lord Jesus for protection and guidance when confused or worried Sounds like you r embarking on a very interesting journey. You know where they place a few smaller decks onto the table and make their victim-I mean customer pick one for their choices or reading? How many do you split from your main deck to form those decks, does anyone know?

Exactly all the fancy ways to shuffle the cards are very tolling for the decks, in my particular way of viewing cartomancy, I feel that every deck (No matter if it's a cheap one or an expensive one) It's like an extension of me and I don't wat it to be worn out!.

This is interesting! I've noticed for myself that if I speak what I'd like from the spirits out loud, that it helps to make it clear to them. And I know you know a lot more about the tarot than me, but do you ever recommend not cutting the deck four times, but shuffling until you intuitively feel it's right?
