  • @pchris6662
    @pchris6662 ปีที่แล้ว +39

    I can only imagine how many thousands of shuffles you have done to make that look so smooth. Wow. And that’s why I like magic…not because I can’t figure out how it’s done (although I get tricked plenty), but because I know just how much work has to go into making it look so impossible. FYI, when you show us how you do it…it doesn’t spoil anything and actually makes it even better because there’s still no way I can possibly duplicate a skill like that. We’ll done sir

    When you got to the part about "Every shuffle technique can be faked," I thought to myself, "Even a casino wash?" Paused, then thought about another card mechanic I've seen who could take a deck from a casino wash and put it back into new deck order in short order.
    Only to have you do pretty much the same thing ten seconds later (okay, you "only" took the four Aces).

  • @ewallt
    @ewallt ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Controlling cards with an overhand shuffle is easy to learn. Similarly a riffle shuffle where you keep cards on top, and/or with false cuts is pretty easy, but the false riffle shuffles which keep the whole deck in order are insanely difficult, at least to make them as innocent looking as the video.

    If there was ever a card magician that could do a card trick in front of Teller in person, I think you would be the one. I know Richard Turner technically already did it, but I really think you should straight up give it a try. Even if you can't make it work, it'd still be a trick that might generate buzz for you. Please consider giving it a try someday.

    Oh never mind it’s the casino wash 😂

  • @bosscyan7726
    @bosscyan7726 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Something I'm curious about is whether it's possible to fake shuffle if the only shuffle used is the casino wash. When I saw the extra riffles and cuts, I thought that maybe something there helped rig the shuffle if say, one card there was marked or something (I'm not saying you did that, just a possibility if done in a real scenario). So dealers would see the marked cards and shuffle them into where they have to be.
    So what if the shuffle was the casino wash shuffle alone? Say, you do a wash, stack it up, cut in 2, and repeat once more then deal, would the shuffle still be possible to fake?

    • @DanielRoyMagic
      @DanielRoyMagic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes, I can beat the casino wash alone, or the casino wash + other shuffles. But your intuition is correct. Sometimes, those other shuffles make it easier, other times they make it more difficult.

    • @bosscyan7726
      @bosscyan7726 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DanielRoyMagic I guess that just means that every shuffle can be faked in the hands of a great magician, then. I'd much rather be the one shuffling the cards then, hahaha.

  • @sage5296
    @sage5296 ปีที่แล้ว

    even knowing that you’re doing them i just have no idea how, I think maybe one way to visualize it would be to have cards with a full rainbow on the edge, so you can just look at the color gradient on the side to see how the cards are moving perhaps.

I wonder if there is an underground subculture where there is an "arms race" of sorts between those who use such skills to make money and those use protect legitimate games. Everyone would probably have a favorite side. The example that took the world by storm a decade ago was Phil Ivy vs Borgata... which I still have conflicting feelings over.
