      I have heard many tarot card experts say that its better to get your own deck of tarot and not to use anyone else's deck as cards absorb the energy of the one whose deck it is. I am sorry for your loss but it might be better to get your own deck so that the cards can absorb your energy and give the right readings

      @@MusiCoolPiyush Actually tarot cards have to be passed down or given to you. They must be a gift! Also when you clense then they are already full of your own energy

    I got my first deck of 78 back in the early 70's. I have had 1 or 2 other decks since. Right from the start the power came to me. I was an early reader, I read everything but gravitated to old texts written in the 1400's, then it was easy to transition to science fiction. And that's why I knew the power from that first deck, the secret is 'accept' it for a real force in /from the world. And that leads to now, and my shiney, stiff and brand new deck. I am relegated to using your shuffle #3 or 4.

    Hello! Firstly, thank you so much for your advice, this video was very helpful and gave me new ideas on how to shuffle, and the fact that you are still responding to comments after all this time is super cool. I have a question that really keeps bugging me ever that I started using tarot: when you make big spreads, like the celtic cross, which consist of like.. smaller questions, you shuffle, keep one question from the whole spread in your head, draw a card, move on to another question, shuffle again, repeat, or just keep a general topic in your head and then lay out cards for all questions? I understand that there is no definite answer, but I can't figure out which method will be more accurate. Thank you very much for your work and sorry if my explanation is too messy!

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're so welcome! Thanks for being here. When it comes to doing larger spreads I've always been happier when I've focused on the the question that each position is asking and then drawing card by card. I've also just drawn the number of cards that a spread is asking for and then laid them out in order. Like you said there are only preferences, but I feel more confident in my spreads with the first method. Good luck!

      I’ve heard that when cards fall out, just remember that they are just cards. I was told by a reader that the cards are just paper.. BUT they help us build and find our own special abilities and other super cool stuff! So don’t stress it when cards fall out, or when shuffling gets hard. Just remember that the cards are just cards and you’re in control! Stay up and stay positive 🔮 🃏✨
      I tried to explain it in the best way that I remember.. if it sounds rude, I have no intentions of being rude. I also have tarot decks and I just wanted to explain what I’ve heard, in a nice, not so harsh sounding way. I know some people would think I’m saying that they’re just cards and nothing matters- that’s not necessarily what I’m saying haha. I’m saying the cards themselves are just cards, but we as people put our energies into them, so when a card falls out, don’t stress it.. just add it back to the deck (or keep it out, whichever your intuition tells you,) and have fun and stay positive!!

    I have a really important question: I just read the cards and I cut them and when I was done, (I shuffle my cards and when it feels right, I separate them into three piles and pick which one I am drawn to) I hovered my hand over the different piles and I felt drawn to two of them. I chose one and I still looked at the first card of the other pile because I had a feeling like it would have been a better choice. I read the cards with the pile I chose and let me be honest, it wasn’t quite what I wanted to hear and maybe I am biased but I also felt like it was not accurate. So I chose to read the cards from the other pile. And let me be honest again, they are what I wanted to hear and what I felt was more accurate. So which pile was the right one? Which reading was the one that counts?

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Oh, have I been there! I truly believe we're under no obligation to stay with our first choice, especially if a seemingly second choice resonates more. Honestly, whichever one felt right in the moment and helped the most was probably a good choice. I think sometimes we get caught up in thinking we shouldn't get what we want, or that it couldn't work out for the best, but one thing I've learned from Tarot is that the universe wants us to be happy and wants things to work out for us and that it doesn't have to come in the form of "hard lessons" and struggle. That being said, there have been plenty of times I receive a card I really don't want in the moment and I shove it right back in the deck and keep shuffling hoping for a different answer...only to get the same card again. There are plenty of times that what we think we don't want is actually just what we need. We just need to be open to the lesson it is offering us. Maybe both piles held good answers for you! Hope this helps!

      very interesting, I think there's also a message you may not want to hear. I've experienced times where I got messages which made no sense at all, but in other occasion I got messages that were uncomfortable but I could acknowledge that I had an inner voice which could confirm me that, usually is about delusions. My advice is to take tarot messages with a grain of salt, it's not meant to be the absolute truth, just a random message, have fun with it and be very objective, do you think is healthy to listen nice things even though things in reality are much more harder than that? open your eyes and listen to the advice, but only you have the answer and whatever fits you better :)

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@marte1376 I agree that the answers should be taken lightly and with a grain of salt, especially if they are coming from someone else. Because you are correct, only each of us individually knows what is right and true for us. The cards are merely a guide, which in my personal belief can lead us to our highest good, but again that's what I believe. It's up to everyone to figure out for themselves what's true for them.

    • @marte1376
      @marte1376 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wildinsidewellness3008 yes and I insist, is important to keep rationality and not let ourselves be delusional about things we want to see and hear just because I believe "that's my truth", tarot is a double edge sword for who uses it. Specially If there are questions about someone else (love reading) or predictions. Good tarot readers never let tarot take their power away, just like you said, it's an amazing tool but at the end of the day the answers are within us. I was stuck on a person for 3 years and I was always listening tarot, back then it was only about what I wanted to see, with time I learned that I had put all my power in someone else's message. We have to be realistic, the magic of cards come from within us, now everytime i read cards I have very insightful answers but I always keep truth in what I see and my objectivity, it has been amazing so far and now I only listen a few readers because I trust their messages. Cheers!

    In standard card readings, the way the card is placed, upside down vs right side up, helps determine the meaning of the card during the reading. Is this also true of the fairy cards?

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I imagine it can, but I don't use oracle cards that often and many of them don't provide meanings for reading reversals. I would say trust your intuition on how the card presents itself and how the card applies to your question, upright or reversed. I personally try to look at each card from all angles (positive, negative, neutral) and be honest with myself about how I think it applies.

    I am not to sure about the first shuffle. The traditional cardplayer shuffle. I just (re)started (after years) and got a deck with a little book. Now I do know I need to find my own preferences and what works and feels for me. But that book and some other sources say the traditional cardplayer shuffle is "too powerful". I see that it might be the durability. But it seemed to me they meant it more energetically. However I also see a lot of people doing it anyway. I guess I am wondering are there some more energetically powerfull ways or too powerful ways?

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never thought of it as "too powerful" personally, just efficient and therefore not too many shuffles are needed to energetically clear the deck. Not sure how it would be too powerful, or how anyone might mean that, but there are lot's of ways to understand your deck and to each their own!

      That's a tough one. I don't think that some are better than others, but some are more suited to different people than others. What makes a 'good' deck depends so much on what resonates with you. The Rider Waite Smith deck is a good starter deck because a lot of its imagery is inspiration for a LOT of decks. Hope this helps!

  • @livrule2004

    So towards the ending, I’ve come across a question. Now let’s say someone is doing a 10-12+ draw right-
    Should they set the cards up in order from the one they picked first (1) to the last (10/12+) or could they also shuffle those 10-12 cards and put them down in whatever order they’d like?

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it can come down to preference and what feels right, and maybe the intentions one started out with. If the goal at the start of the reading was to pull 10+cards and use them in order then that works, and the same the other way. I think it's also OK to change your mind and use order them differently than originally intended. I find it helpful to have a clear goal from the start, but that's my preference and I sometimes do change my mind.

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is what people mean when they say the card is in 'reverse'. It can have meaning depending on lots of different factors. If you intended to read reversals (not everyone does), if it stands out to you that it is in reverse, or if you want to be open to more diverse meanings of the cards. There are probably more reasons I have not listed. I, personally, always keep my cards upright so when a reversal presents itself, it really stands out. I am also an intuitive reader and try to remain open to as many meanings as possible and not rule out any information. A lot of the context lies in the questions, and having a well-rounded (upright and reverse) understanding of the cards is always helpful.

      It is the Rider Waite/Coleman Smith deck. I'm not sure if all versions look like this one but most likely a modern deck would. It's a great deck to learn on as many, many tarot decks are based off of the imagery in this one.

      Great question! I actually alternate back and forth using both hands, so I don't think it really matters. Energetically speaking your left hand is associated with your right brain making the softer more receptive hand. And your right hand is associated with the left brain making it the more dominant action oriented hand. Keeping this in mind I will use my right or left hand to draw the card/s depending on the nature of the question or even what feels right in the moment.

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think there's room to feel it out. I don't know if I think of it as upright means exclusively one thing and down means the opposite, but rather each card has a spectrum of meaning and sometimes how it presents (upright or reversed) can help us tune in to the meaning in a particular spread. But if all upright is what makes sense to you right now I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It can help to find a good book with interpretations for both and even if the cards are upright read both and see which feels more true for you in that moment. Have fun!

    • @wildinsidewellness3008

      One of my teachers used to lay all the cards out on the table in a small spread out pile and mix them around gently before stacking them up again. As you shuffle pay attention to the cards that stand out to you or maybe 'pop up' as you move the cards. Hope this helps. If I think of anything else I'll post it.

    So since cards can be upside down, isn't there a particular way you are supposed to reveal/flip the cards? If you aren't consistent you will flip a card that wasn't if you know what I mean

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! And honestly I don't know if there is a "right" or correct way to do it but I have developed my personal preference. which is normally keeping the entire deck upright and flipping them upright and being really honest with myself about the meaning of the card. Meaning that even if a cars presents itself upright the meaning for me that day might actually be reverse. It takes honesty and being open to many possible interpretations but I've found my understanding of myself is broad enough for nuance. I think we all find our own way that works for us.

      It can help to have a specific spread that you are doing that has a set number of cards you are to pull. But even within that there is wiggle room, I often end up drawing 2 cards where only 1 was required. Slowly building a relationship with the cards and learning to trust your intuition will make it more and more clear.

      You know there are different thoughts on this and they really only matter if you want them to. How do reversed cards happen? Is it in the shuffle or the draw?

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Reversed cards can happen at any point in the shuffle or draw. I tend to shuffle so that all my cards remain upright (personal preference) and usually get reversals in the draw. Sometimes cards simple pop out of the deck and are reversed when I pick them up. I try to be open to reverse meanings even when the cards are upright as well. Sometimes the energy of a reversal is actually where I'm at regardless of it being upright, and vice versa.

    I just got my own cards but i was wondering is it better to shuffle/lay the cards yourself when you do a reading for someone or is it better that they do it themselves?

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've done it both ways and it can work either way, so ultimately it can come down to a few things.
      1. How do you want your deck handled? Some people aren't familiar with shuffling and might be unintentionally rough with your deck and potentially bend cards. Something that's a huge bummer!
      2. In these days of the pandemic (and otherwise honestly) do you want others to handle your deck? If you're OK with it, maybe some good hand hygiene is called for.
      3. I believe that we as the reader are just as capable of drawing meaningful cards for others, so check in with them on their preference (and honor your own as well). Some people would prefer that you draw for them, and some might prefer to do it themselves.
      I think that ultimately it comes down to what you as the reader prefer, what your boundaries are, and how you can best support others while honoring your own boundaries.
      Hope this helps!

      It helps to have a set spread that you are working with and usually the number of cards needed is provided in the spread description. It's also fun to play around with drawing one card and using your intuition to figure out if you need more cards. If sometimes will keep asking until I feel I have a well rounded answer, and sometimes a pile of cards! Sometimes I am happy with just one.

    when shuffling does it matter if cards get reversed during the shuffle?

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! And in my opinion it's a matter of personal preference. For me I have come to a style of shuffling that always keeps them upright (therefore resulting in an all upright reading) and the thing to keep in mind is that I still need to be open to reverse meanings even if the cards are upright. It took a lot of practice to recognize within myself (and be honest with myself) what the true message of the card was, being upright (light) or reversed (shadow). When just starting out it's very helpful to let them get shuffled so that some are upright and some are reversed. When done with a reading I like to rearrange the deck so that all are upright and ready for the next reading.

    • @wildinsidewellness3008
      @wildinsidewellness3008  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree that ultimately that's what it comes down to, but for many people (myself, for many years) saying "just listen" or "Go with your gut" aren't always helpful because in many ways many of us have been taught to not listen to our bodies or intuition (most often due to trauma, cultural or individual) and it's a process to come back home to our innate wisdom. Steps can be very helpful!
