Anyone who replays their live Germany Rockpalast 1980 show knows how killer of a jam this is. I discovered that concert probably 15 years ago, it wasn't until last week I truly listened and took in El Diablo. We had that concert cranked up in my friend's garage stoned out of our minds.

Tejas is a terrific mixture of classic rock, blues and funkiness. Underrated but one of ZZ Top's best.

this song is a work of southern rock art, the sound evokes a Texas of long ago, I can see horses running across the desert as the sun burns a hole on the landscape. Saw ZZ Top this weekend in PEI CANADA. Their old sound is their best sound. Granddaddies of Texas blues in my books.
This reminds me of a lone night in the deserts of Texas. Just amazing. Love the old ZZ Top.

60! First time i've heard them was in the 1980's. Billy is one of the "Last Guitar Heroes". Accompany me since then! They brought always real surprises, for example “Cheap Sunglasses”. But "La Grange", simple as it is - my favorite LIVE track ever! Genius licks, i never get bored of this.

Anything ZZ Top in 1976 was/ is amazing. Already a huge fan after Tres Hombres, Fandango as a teenager they were Top of the line for me a southern Arkansas boy with a love for this kind of rock. We had Tejas when it hit the shelves and I've never stopped jamming it to this day. El Diablo is one of those I'd compare to Master of Sparks except it was a real life experience. Don't know about El Diablo but what a masterpiece!
ZZ on the Fandango tour at Barton Col was my first ever concert.
I remember hearing this song in the beginning of 77, in one of the coldest Chicago winter's. It sounded so different for ZZ, my friend and I were relaxing with some good Colombian, and the ending with the continuous drum roll and wavering, almost psychedelic guitar sounded so hypnotic, I guess you'd have to be there...TJ Struska

I'm 66 yrs old & I been looking for this song forever ( El Diablo ) by ZZ Top. I never knew the name of this song, but I knew it was by ZZ Top & I used to hear it way back in high School but never knew the name of this song. And I used to teased a Mexican girl with this song I used to work with. But I just found out the name of this song tonight.

Still pretty cool. Some songs sound crappy .. .they went too digital. Wore the grooves out on this album back when it came out.

You can say that again. The resampling of the bass drum doesn't really pick up the pattern correctly. No dynamics.
