Nepo babys will get trained their entire life by NBA players and say things like "I EARNED this spot on the basketball team" to a kid who's had to NARCAN their own Mother.
So as someone who has almost no experience or knowledge with music theory, I always thought it was that Leitmotif is a short pattern that is tied to a specific character/plot element that can be used in other music to reference something. So the Tartarus music itself is a motif, but if you hear a song that shares some of the patterns of the Tartarus theme in a different part of the story, that would be the Leitmotif.
Music guy here - afaik that is correct. Most people misuse the words these days. If the Tartarus theme is used in other songs, which I think it is in like one other song, then you could call it a leitmotif. The way Woolie was using it to just refer to all the layers of Tartarus would be more akin to just the motif, since they're basically all layers of the same song. But technically a leitmotif since it does reappear in other songs in the game.
I don't know about y'all, but when I go dungeon crawling, I crush floors in as few days as possible, preferably one. I work the party like I'm playing Palworld.
The best way to minmax is to go as high as you can in a single day. Then use the rest of the days to work on SLinks and Stats. Of course, one can play as the like, but after playing so many entries, I always try to max my SLinks in my first run lol
In my opinion, Its Going Down Now is the best Persona battle theme. I get so fucking hyped when the "Disturbing the PEAAACCEEEE" kicks in. Absolutely nothing matches it.
Honestly, motifs and leimotifs are confusing because they're the same with a slight difference. But in how I understand it; a leimotif usually is a short enough musical pattern that you could probably use throughout the song, being symbolic with it pretty much. While a motif is typically a bit longer and you either use it for a few phrases and then develop it into something new. Could be wrong. I haven't looked at my notes since I graduated college. Edit: so yes, even the development of the Tartarus theme is still a leimotif because it's symbolic with tartarus. At least I would think so. I think what makes it so confusing is that they both are symbolic in a way? I think it's one of those "a rectangle can be a square but a square can't be a rectangle" kind of thing.
Unless they changed it in this entry, they work like old school TMs, so they’re single use. There’s something great about getting an OP Persona with a single weakness and having the ONE SKILL CARD that turns the weakness into an absorb or Null. It’s great XD
Lotus Juice has improved *dramatically*. His flow in the new battle theme is fucking great! The female singers feel off, though. Less confident, kinda? [Edit: YO THAT AMBUSH MUSIC IS FANTASTIC] Almost makes up for how this version STILL doesn't award money after a fight. Always hated that in P3. Grinding for money is such a miserable slog.
Pretty sure his flow in the original is only off because it was poorly edited together with samples from a sample CD instead of actually recorded with the music.
All these dark feathers falling... I guess Sephiroth is hanging out in Tartarus.
The grind starts *NOW!!!*
Nepo babys will get trained their entire life by NBA players and say things like "I EARNED this spot on the basketball team" to a kid who's had to NARCAN their own Mother.
Deep cut
I'm enjoying this immensely without a lick of context, Bravo
Imagine if instead of Harry DuBoir dying in that bad ending where he shoots himself he just summons a Persona out of nowhere
"I am thou, thou art I, BRAATANN!"
Local Cop summons manifestation of his own will. Dock workers confused but vaguely impressed.
You'll never defeat this Stand! [TEQUILA SUNRISE]!!
Weewooweewooweewooweewoo
Following the structure of Disco El., no one but Harry himself can see his Persona. In essence, it’s an extra party member that judges your actions.
"And then everyone in the bar clapped"

This is correct. P3 has both leitmotif and standard motif, but the song getting layers added for Tartarus is just a standard motif

the tartarus theme is THE musical version of edging

100% same with P3. In P4 and 5 I usually pace it a little bit, but for whatever reason I refuse to leave Tartarus until it's dusted

always whole dungeon day 1 in every persona game. going to a dungeon several times is wasting days i could be raising stats or s-links.
I learned that the best way of doing it is all in one day on the full moon cause your party doesn't get tired that day.
It's going down now is by far the best regular battle song in the persona franchise, it's not even close
*if you’re not counting P5S, that soundtrack goes hard as hell
I dunno man "Last Surprise" and "Time To Make History" are still pretty damn fire.
I love them all and wish they played on shuffle
Nah that would be PS1 P1
its good but the p5 themes still better in my book.
In my opinion, Its Going Down Now is the best Persona battle theme. I get so fucking hyped when the "Disturbing the PEAAACCEEEE" kicks in. Absolutely nothing matches it.
Minor complaint but i wish shuffle time was after the splash screen. Feels so abrupt.
I agree it's not a major complaint, but I think it would have been better if the order had been reversed.
I agree. It loses a lot of the emphasis when the song doesn't end right with the graphic.
AGREE COMPLETELY
I wish shuffle time worked like FES...
Probbaly hit the vaas scratch your head with the barrel
42:00 ....its snowing on mt fuji
A fellow learned Japanese laureate!
Completed the game today - Final phase of the final boss took me about 10% of the time it took me in the original, rofl.
Still ain't messing around overall., but thank GOD for no Moonless Gown.
P3P still took me an hour and a half on easy at 99. I’m glad that’s not the case now lol
On Merciless?
What happened when man devoured the fruit of knowledge? Did they ever go into that?
Let's be real, the original final boss of P3 is a game design disaster, especially with the original game's NPC party members.
Welcome to the Tartarus Grind!

the bit about rectangles: "All squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares"
@@wea69420 see? Even I get that one mixed up.
This is my first persona so I didn't know skill cards worked as TMs. I almost never grab them cause of the other cards being a lot more beneficial.

Shadows drop treasure that you can sell at the police station, so technically, they do drop money
