Building Bridges
Here in Montgomery, home of "A walesi bárdok" and the town where János Arany is a posthumous honorary Freeman, we were inspired by the "Let's Build Bridges" message from Magyar Cymru and share their wish to Build Bridges. We wish everyone well in these challenging times.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the content and creation of this video. Enjoy!

János Arany's 1857 epic ballad "A walesi bárdok" tells of the fictional slaughter of 500 bards at Montgomery Castle by Edward I after they refused to obey his wishes. The allegorical poem is well-known in Hungary and learnt by school children there.
The poem in the original Hungarian, and English translation by Peter Zollman (1997)
[Zollman's translation was presented to the National Library of Wales in 2007 and used by Karl Jenkins for his "The Bards of Wales" cantata]
