It is such a beautiful thing that the art of storytelling is still alive and well in the modern culture. Listening to your tales of Irish Christmas traditions while crafting and baking for the season is nostalgic, though we are from different sides of the world. The music stirs something I cannot place. Thank you for sharing your history and culture. The gift of a Seanachai has truly been passed down as of from old.
It warms my heart. I am Irish both sides of my family . My mother died 3 years ago . Here dream was to see Ireland. She never hot to see it. My great grand mother came to America when she was 16 years old all by her self. Went to new York raised her children. Then made our way to California. But Ireland in all of our hearts. Proud to say we were Irish. Now that we are in the end times after watching bible prophecy jumping off the bible for some years. Knowing that we are here for such a time is this. Jesus is coming soon. I have 2 channels I listen too on utub from Ireland one is prophecy unfolding with James. And I listen to danty diaries she is fun . God bless you in Jesus name. Merry Christmas too you.
There are so many family traditions. Myself being a woman of a certain age have carried on many of the traditions from my grandmother. My daughter has also embraced many of them. Plus, is making her own with her small urban farm, that is filled with chickens, kittens and two beautiful dogs. Our kitchens are filled with aromas of long ago recipes from long ago. Thank you for sharing yours with us!
What a lovely thing to do - to make that beautiful wreath for your neighbor. Blessings to you from West Devon, and Jilly & Madge the rescue greyhound (her racing name was Devil's Magic - thankfully Poole racetrack where she raced, is now permanently closed) xxx
Thank you for this inspiring video, I’m from Mexico, I attended to summer school in Ireland and I really fell in love of the country. I love cottages, now I live in my own cottage. You inspire people like me . Thank you again and greetings from Mexico. 💕
Hi Tara! Your place looks so calm peaceful... and your dresser... I love it! I'm back to looking at houses on daft... In some of the abandoned houses, the dressers are nearly worth the price of the house itself. The gathering, making, and gifting of your wreath is gorgeous, and the gift so sweet. The vibe is exactly how I'm feeling. Sending love out to the whole world... Thank you for this Tara...
My husband and I were lucky to visit Ireland. My Dad and grandparents were from Limerick.I loved the small towns and farm lands. My Dad's name was Silver Quinlivan. My husband a police officer died and my son lives with me at the top of the mountains in Fawnskin Ca.
That music is beautiful! Something about hearing those lyrics warmed my heart even though I couldn't understand more than a few words. I could almost smell those rolls and the tea, all cozy and hot! I really need to get a book on Brehon law. Maybe I'll ask for one for my birthday next year. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Tara!
With 3 close family funerals since end of September I am really struggling to feel Christmas this year. Thank you for sharing this, I love your home and ability to wander out your door to find the greenery for your wreath. Gorgeous basket full and I would love to snuggle that black kitty! Blessings from Canada
Condolences to you on the loss of your family members. “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside every day, unseen, unheard but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear”.
I love irish music and story telling. There's just something about Irish nostalgia and culture. I thought so even when I was child, and I'm not even Irish lol!
Beautiful….and…..poetic…the ambiance of these images…is warmed….with your songs…and your enchanting voice….that only a mystic Irish white witch…can do 🥰😊😉
WoW! I think this is the most beautiful video you two have put together so far. Lots of thought, love, and creativity, plus the perfect music for this. And the theme of making Christmas special for someone else is very precious. Wishing you both a blessed turn of the light and seasons.
Thanks John, though as talented as Dave is, he doesn't help with my pre-recorded videos, this was all me. And Pádraigín, of course 😅 Blessings of the season to you and Claire also x
Absolutely beautiful film that captures the season and the romanticism of the island. Really gets me in the festive spirit! 🥰 Also, shout out to the cats for gracing us with some wonderful shots! I’m sure it wasn’t easy 😅
A beautiful video Tara and a lovely message to all. Your wreath is awesome. I see you had a bit of a storm last Monday in Leitrim, I hope your cottage avoided any damage ? Happy Christmas to you and Dave (and the cats of course 🐈⬛ 🐈).
I appreciate you. Your videos always bring a warm spot to my heart. I had to have emergency outpatient surgery yesterday and this is just what I needed. No worries. I'm ok. But this is definitely a balm for my weary body. I know you've been going through some tough times recently as well. Know I'm thinking of you my friend. ❤
Lovely video, well done! I made my mother’s Christmas cookie recipe yesterday: one dough, three ways. Walnut bars, date pinwheels, thumbprints with different jams. We bought a dozen containers, enough to hold a dozen cookies. Whoever comes to our door receives a container, and the happiness I feel when giving them away is doubled when they let me know how good they were! A Merry Christmas to you and your family, and I look forward to following your trail in the new year!
Really lovely video Tara, sets such a beautiful mood to the season. The special wreath a lovely gift of love. Padraigín Ní Uallacháin's music is divine and moving. I won't understand a word of it, only have a few Irish words at the minute, but the spirit of the songs comes through. Wishing you and Dave a very Happy Christmas and a New Year filled with new adventures, love and peace. We hope to make it to Leitrim next we are in Ireland. Came this September but didn't make it that far north. Fell madly in love and can't wait to go back. Blessings, Sláinte!
Thank you, your video warmed my heart and soul. I wish you a lovely end of the year time and that you can gather all the energy, luck and good ideas for 2024.
This video touched me so deeply. I felt as though my ancestors were reaching through and sharing some of their old Irish traditions. Got the truth bumps! Happy Yule and Merry Christmas ❤
Thanks! Hi Tara... just checking in to be sure my cc is still working. Some of my cards have expired and I've had to update them. I hope you're well... miss seeing you, but saw you on the IPS page recently so I know you're alive lols! So excited about coming to Ireland in a couple weeks! 🥰
Omg am excited for you! 😀 Yes I thought I'd be back uploading by now but sick cats, frozen pipes and now a storm are just pulling my attention and energy in other directions 😅 Thanks for the superchat, and do let me know if you're going to be near my neck of the woods on your travels, and safe travels 😊 xxx
What a beautiful video it touched my soul brought back all my memories of when I was young in Ireland Sligo and Wicklow my ancestors are calling me from Uk England xx
Such a beautiful video, it really makes you think back about the traditional Christmases our grandparents and further back would have had. The buns also look incredible I’ll have to bake some now 😂 happy Christmas!
Happy New Year Eileen! It's an emotional time of year for me so I tend to hunker down and craft, as I am now. I love my bathrobe too but after almost 15yrs it's threadbare in parts 😅 Been threatening to make a new one since last winter, but I would need more time and confidence in myself than I currently have 😅 Maybe when it's warm and I can use the floor space in the mobile. Hope you're keeping well and that 2024 is kind to you ❤
From us to you and yours, Have a Blessed Yule. Upon the last night before the rebirth of the light we shall send our thoughts to our Celtic Sisters & Brothers across the sea. May you path forever be clear from obstacles and her light show you the way. )O(
There's a playlist of our journey with the cottage so far on my channel. It includes a video tour from the day we first viewed it, and a recent update about preparing for winter, and my video from last Christmas shows the bedroom transformation (which is also the only internal work that has been done since we bought it). Enjoy!
Thank you. All filmed in the last week of November/first week December though. It's been an extremely mild winter here. I could still deck out the entire house with garlands and wreaths made from ferns alone if they weren't so messy when they dry 😅
They are made of pallets, get very slippery after a few months and are lethal when it rains. My uncle, a fisherman, suggested the chicken wire like they have at some fishing spots. It's perfect. Thanks for your comment 😊
... making it special for... SOMEBODY else! Indeed, that reminder was much needed, thank you!

I hope you go soon. We visited ireland last summer and it was the most beautiful place with fantastic friendly and open hearted pple.
It was derelict. Now it is a charming home again. Pre middle-ages is a better window into Ireland's long long long ancient past.

I see Christmas as the time for the child and the child within in everyone. Traditions inspired by the best and most peaceful times through our lives.

This really touched me. I'm so grateful for the memories I have of my family, and the time I can spend with them.
A very Merry Christmas to all and any family members in County Cork Ireland ❤

Place is looking nice and cozy, especially with the candle light and the stove.
Really sweet and simple, festive. Gave me a good warm feeling.

Hi Debbie same here this year was sad I feel your pain prayers
I get the feeling Ireland full of Earth Magic. Love the music.
I love irish music and story telling. There's just something about Irish nostalgia and culture. I thought so even when I was child, and I'm not even Irish lol!
Finally, something that got me into the festive spirit. Lovely!
Nothing can top what we make with our own hands and give with a loving heart.
I did the same thing to decorate our wee house. Ivy, holly and evergreens made a tasteful surround to our mantlepiece
Beautiful….and…..poetic…the ambiance of these images…is warmed….with your songs…and your enchanting voice….that only a mystic Irish white witch…can do 🥰😊😉
Beautiful music and video. Thank you.
Looking forward to your take on the ancient laws of beautiful Ireland 👀💯💚🌲💯💚

If it weren't for the kitties randomly playing a blinder I'd have no video 😅
Totally lovely. The best was seeing you give a present to someone else.
How beautiful ! This is how we should all live ! 🇬🇧💞💞

We heard nothing about it until the tornado was long gone, thanks be tae gods.....only 30mins over the road from us!
@@DiaryofaDitchWitch I’m pleased you avoided it. I hear a ‘small’ tornado did a bit of damage to a local village but thankfully nobody hurt 👍
Yule blessings to you and Dave
This is such a beautiful short film, in all aspects. You two should be so proud. Happy Christmas T&D.
Thank you! 😊

Love the style; great vid Tara :)
Beautiful 😊
I would put a log burner in that main room and a large table - you can still use the room without the walls and windows being perfect .
I would too if time and budget allowed 😅
Class, Tara
Felt it in my soul…

Gorgeous production… course, parts were filmed in warmer times… the ferns were flourishing in some cuts. But no matter. It was all magic.
