Late to the party I want to appreciate the effort in saving a part of my childhood. My first Playstation went in the rubbish by my dad in the 2005. I cried a lot, I told him there is someone who could saved it, but he wasn't believed me. I showed him this video today and he is absolutely stunned. He apologize for junk my first Playstation and now he understand that there is a limit in production of these consoles so keeping old parts of them is the same as keeping old pictures or juwelry. Once they are lost they never come back again the same way. Great work all of your restaurations. Ps: my husband brings a Playstation One in the marriage, so there is no bad blood with my dad anymore😊

I'll say this.. you were definitely prepared for this restoration, and what a restoration it was. I'm fairly new to this stuff (newly developed hobby), because I wanted to give my Xbox 360s some tlc. So I've been binging on console restoration videos in particular for about 2 months now, and I can say without a doubt in my mind that THIS video has been the most extensive restoration I've ever seen. Loved it all, the cool tools, the compounds. You rebuilt pieces of the shell even, that was awesome, but I think it was the motherboard for me. Fantastic video man, really. The end part playing Metal Gear Solid was a pretty awesome blast from the past.👍🏻👍🏻💯💯😌😌

Two months of watching restoration videos is a great way to learn. Yes washing mother bord with some care has no problem, it looks scary but don't worry if you remove all moistures and does not use harsh chemicals and remove any battery from the board during the washing step, no problem will occurs. However I highly recommend to use high pressure air or Isopropyl alcohol unless the motherboard is as bad condition as in the video u watched. 💙

The painstaking process of fixing something as old and broken as this. Something that was by all metrics dead, and bring it back to life again. It was weirdly emotional. In a way, you didn’t just restore a console. You restored memories long buried. For many people, the ones we enjoyed this console with have passed on. Family, friends, loved ones. You are a true restoration channel. For every one of you there are hundreds of people who deliberately cake stuff onto knives and fake restoration stuff but you actually do the job. Thanks for the work.
God that's really amazing. This is my personal experience. When treating metals that have been plated, one approach is remove the plating completely (by sanding and/or polishing), then redo the plating. This avoids damaging the new plating by treating it after it has been plated (polishing might break the plating or make it uneven), and also prevents other problems caused by the old plating (for example, sometimes the old chrome plating tends to flake off the metal substrate).
i'm speechless! It's amazing to watch the PS1 come back to life! The sound of cleaning is almost hypnotic, and the final result is just perfect. Kudos for the passion and precision!

It took me 36 days, but believe it or not, recording the video definitely made the process more difficult. If you attempt this yourself, it might take around 9 days, I estimate.💙💙

This is my personal experience. When treating metals that have been plated, one approach is remove the plating completely (by sanding and/or polishing), then redo the plating. This avoids damaging the new plating by treating it after it has been plated (polishing might break the plating or make it uneven), and also prevents other problems caused by the old plating (for example, sometimes the old chrome plating tends to flake off the metal substrate).

I got a playststion 3 which needs a restoration it also got the yellow light of dead. From all offers I would have the biggest and trust without any doubt to you!
How long did this job take you?
It took me 36 days, but believe it or not, recording the video definitely made the process more difficult. If you attempt this yourself, it might take around 9 days, I estimate.💙💙

The lengths people used to have to go through to restore broken plastic pieces before the advent of 3D printing is pretty wild.
Did anyone notice how fast the game loaded? It never loaded that fast back in the day. This guy literally improved the PS1 with his restoration. Super respect
