I'd really like the ability to dock the adjustment panel underneath the adjustments list in the right panel.
I think it will be nice if we can dock floating panel on empty space in right panel.

Dave - I have to disagree with you about this update. (And until now I have never disagreed with you!) But before this update Topaz Photo AI let you output a DNG file allowing you to continue doing RAW processing in LR. This is no longe the case. Without any notice that I could see - Photo AI now can only output a TIFF file. I have typically used Photo AI before doing much in LR and like to have LR see a DNG file, so in my workflow LR remains my RAW processor. I guess the Topaz folks have decided to follow the route of other companies in that they want to replace LR and become your RAW processor. I hope they see the error of their ways.
I did notice that myself today, while using Plug In Extras in Lightroom Classic to send a RAW File to Topaz Photo Ai. The Raw file returned to Lightroom Classic as a Tiff instead of a DNG and I was confused. I believe they need to change this to output images that are not using lighting and Color balance adjustments as DNG RAW files, which is what I assumed would happen. The images I used for the video came from a computer file folder and not Lightroom Classic. I'm hopeful they'll fix this in the next update.
I noticed this as well. Also it didn't load into lightroom as a tiff. Tried to synch folder but still no luck bringing in tiff in Lightroom, not that I would use the tiff.
This version seems buggy as a plugin in Lighroom.
This is good info, I was going to upgrade but until this is fixed I'd rather keep the version I have as I prefer to process the same way as you
Puzzled by this comment, as I can export a RAW file from PhotoAI 3.0 to a .dng file????
The problem arises when you use Lightroom via File>Plug-in Extras>Process with Topaz Photo AI and then choose Edit a Copy, then make adjustments and then save the file back to Lightroom. Until Version 3.0 you could save the file back to LR as a DNG. In Version 3.0 you can only save the file back to LR as a TIFF file. If you Topaz Photo AI as a stand alone you can save file as DNG. But this change makes that approach more cumbersome and requires re-syncing the LR folder to get the new DNG file back into LR.
Seems a little bit light for a major new 3.x version ...
Question, do you know if the updates will over write the presets folder? Thanks for another great update.
Good review. I am also pleasantly pleased with the update. If it has improved this much since a year ago, and they follow the same arc, who knows what this little package can do in a year's time?
Thanks, I've also heard there is an issue with Raw and Denoise. Depending on the Raw file, you might only have 1 option for Denoise (Fuji), Nikon has 2 and some others have 3 denoise options. One way to see this is to add another Denoise filter option, that second Denoise option has all 3 types of Denoise selections. Why the default Denoise is limited I believe is a bug.

I use it on an iMac …2 of my friends have it on a PC .
On my iMac the feather slider shows but on their PCs it does not .
Any idea as to why that might be please ?
I will be writing to Topaz to ask them to please have the word selection in white text same as word control . I think lots of inexperienced users are missing that it is necessary to click an adjustment to open access to control and subject ..certainly both of my friends didn’t suss that

When automatically applying presets with the right click does it classify all images in the bottom panel as selected or must they be selected first.
You can output only in tiff if you use the software as a plug in. It is only possible to output in dng if it is opened stand alone. Which is a pain. So I am currently reverting to 2.4.2. I wish I had been warned of this before upgrading.
What is the reason behind preset? Every photo is different and should not be preset. Preset takes away AI too.
Have not downloaded just yet....LR? DNG? How does this new update w LR fit in? Thanks as always
It does look interesting. It's defintiely too bad they limit the trial functionality so there is no way to know if it fits a workflow. It's definitely slow going, and without saving images and seeing the final results, I have no idea if it's worth the wait. Definitely appreciate your demo of the product...Nice work.
Trying to do a bulk import into the new 3.0 version as .tif. I have 18 photo DNG photos and 18 .tif are created as usual. Once I'm in Photo AI, I have only been able to get 6 to 10 that loaded. Tried multiple times the same thing. I have done this in the past with no issues... sure is a buggy version. I'll reach out to Topaz but thought you should know.

Unfortunately it no longer returns my RAW file to Capture One as a DNG file but as a TIFF when using as a plugin. Is there a way to roll back the update until they fix the issue? Really wish I hadn't bothered updating now.
Thanks for your usual tutorial on the new Topaz Photo Ai Version 3.0. However , in this version, still can't find how to do selective sharpening like I just want to sharpen a landscape instead of the main subject or just a portrait. In the earlier version I can select landscape, or portrait sharpening as against subject or all. This part was not covered in your TH-cam tutorial. I will be happy if you can give another lecture based wholly on masking.. thanks
It is still there, you can select subject, background, all, portrait, landscape, sky and none. You can adjust using a brush (add/subtract)
Thanks for sharing, I still on versions 2, never moved as I noticed they are breaking the software, will be nice on your sample data you used high noisy RAW files with high ISOs and low light speed I really see the software is good like in the past.
How are they breaking the software. I've been using Topaz since 1.4 and have never had a problem with any of the upgrades.
Thanks, Dave. Another reviewer complained that the default DeNoise for Raw images was not very good and that there is no way to change to another DeNoise module. Do you have any problems with the default? Any comments? Thanks!
The default setting for me seems to to be to low. I increase the amount a bit and I'm good to go. If you are batch processing, it's very easy to apply the increased de-noising to all of the images. You do have two different RAW models to choose from (RAW Normal and RAW Strong)

My problem with TOPAZ AI for RAW processing is the color output. There is too little adjustment for color and the default color for my Sony cameras is lacking. Because of that it is best to save as a TIFF or DNG and continue processing with another editor.
What a pity autopilot doesn't start with denoise for Jpegs
In my opinion, version 3 should be sent back to the beta testers. I had to go back to version 2.3.2. The new UI is a step backwards, they’ve broken the select brush in the sharpen module, the DNG export doesn’t work in LRC, and the new remove module crashes the program as often as it works. I use Photoshop (or Lightroom) for image enhancements so those new functions are of no interest to me, and Photoshop has a better remove tool. I could put up with the new UI and just ignore the new enhancements, but being unable to use the select brush in the sharpen module keeps me from using any version later than 2.3.2.
It does appear to be improving but it needs to. The photo AI app fell behind on "controllability" compared to the individual apps. Also I cannot get Photo AI to work as a plugin for photoshop, the other apps do except the new Gigapixel. I've corresponded with Topaz, sent them data, screen shots etc but in the end they said to sdk Adobe... About their product? I like to put my final sharpening on a separate layer to a plugin then final adjust with blendif. I have to use the old Sharpen AI app thst I have, it's not bad but they won't update it anymore. Anyone have any ideas about getting Photo AI to work as a plugin in photoshop 2024?
Does anyone have issues with the removal tool? When I try to remove a person, I can't get rid of the head. I've tried with several different pictures and the result was always the same.
What's going on, Dave? I open RAW files in version 3.0 and there is not any RAW Denoise? Nor do RAW files save as dng. They still save as tif. I asked Photo Ai and was told that the RAW denoise that you show is not available yet, nor do they say is save to dng. Are we using the same program or do you have some special version of Photo Ai 3.0? Thsnks.
I have tried CR2 and CR3 RAW Files with Photo Ai Version 3 and I do get RAW DeNoise just like you saw in the video and they save out as DNG RAW files, unless you use Adjust Lighting or Color Balance. I used my iMac with an Intel processor for the video. However, I made a test on my MacBook Air with an M1 chip, after I saw your comment and sometimes I don't get RAW DeNoise and sometimes I do, so there might be a bug with M series chips. The other issue I have noticed is, if I use Plug In Extras with Lightroom Classic and send RAW files to Photo Ai, the RAW files come back as TIFF Files, even if I don't use Adjust Lighting and Color balance. When I made the video I didn't use Lightroom Classic but used Photo Ai as a Stand Alone App. I hope they address the Lightroom issue in the next update.
I upgraded to 3.0.1 and cannot export a photo to PS. Program is basically useless. No response from support.
Photo AI is absolutely a wonderful tool, no doubt about that, I love it! But, ;-) the function Preserve Text is far from perfect. I noticed that advertisement text on clothing in most cases does not survive the Denoise enhancement.. Maybe it is a better idea to add or replace 'Preserve Text' with 'Exclude Area' probably with a percentage setting of effect.
I didn't like the new app icon. Not sure why they changed it.
Why would you want to issue multiple face recoveries - when you have multiple faces??
That I don’t know. Maybe there is a reason.
So much wasted vertical space in the sidebar - the enhancements should have been listed there, then it would just be single click to access them rather having to go to the + sign then click the one you want...... or at least give the option to list them there.....
Thanks for your very informative updates videos. The one complaint I have about Photo AI is its brushes. I find it very JERKY. Am I the only one observing this? It is no fun using it.
The slow brush response is a known issue, and not fixed in 3.0.0.
I tried casting from my Windows 11 machine to a Surface pro 4 so I could use the surface pro and surface pen as a graphics tablet in Photoshop. It only worked if I drew very slowly but the performance was still better than the Topaz select brush.
Didn't like this one. New UI is terrible. 99% of the time sidebar has like 3 lines, clicking one opens another whole sidepanel opens to with just 2 slide bars. So much wasted screen area for nothing, why not simply make enhancements expandable downwards like any other sane UI design? Also without RAW->DNG worklow, Lr compatibility is completely broken in my eyes. PS: What's with zoom slider? It goes up to 800%, practical zoom range around 25% to 100% is exactly 4 pixels wide and is unusable. Who uses 800% zoom in a AI photo editor like this?
