@@SprayWayCustomsbail me out brother. I hit a single stage with 600 wet after I painted it to kill the orange peel quick. If I sand my way up through 1000,1500 can I get the shine back with compound or do I need flow coat another coat?
@@thomasseiter9841I think he will agree that if you’re going to flow coat, stop at 400-600. If you go up in the 2000 it will be too smooth for the clear to stick.
I’ve been in this industry 49 years I’m always learning something new I would of went down to the base coat and repainted it thanks for the great video I will definitely try this
You literally brought that truck back to life!!! I was always thinking about this idea because my car has been sitting and I'm not changing it's color. It's just needing exactly this. The only two things I know that has to be done is the top and dash. But you definitely got me thinking.... Keep up the good work fam...
Exactly why i learn from you and watch all your videos man, no corners cut always top notch work. definitely take pride in your craft man 💪🏽 great job as always Mr. SprayWay
See lemme explain ta yall how nice this man is!! I'm 33 I've been painting cars since I was 15 years old have owned my own shop since I was in my 20s.. me my self no matter what kinda sanding I'm doing prep or pre buff if it's a panel j9b I'm masking off the panels that are not getting painted on the edge so I don't accidentally hit then sanding!! This man don't mask off no other panels when he sanding now that's skill at its finest!! #ONLY PAINTERS WILL UNDERSTAND THIS COMMENT!!
You reminded me of all the hours I wet sanded for my dad as a teenager...and why I haven't done much of it since...but the finished paint shows the time invested. Excellent work; work to be proud of!
Always a pleasure watching someone master a craft. Even better when that person is also a natural born teacher. I appreciate seeing both the technical details and the attitude fine tuning (be patient, be confident, don't settle).
KANDY KING!! Another great video. I can't understand how the top looked so bad, but man, you fixed it like always. Thanks for sharing your talents with us it really looks awesome!!
Sprayway you the man new school old school medium School car u never let me down on the days lessons don't stop the magic keep it coming appreciate all the tip an trip along the way u save me so much 🧀 💪
Nice job sprayway , I had a similar job done on my jaguar XF back here in the Uk I had some flaking going on although it wasn’t from the heat more like a poor product used from new ! Anyway looks good again now like yours nice job dude 👍
I am going to be fixing my parents car soon. I think there this only one small spot where the clear is gone. I have not studied it yet though. This video makes me think I should just spot repair and blend that area and re-clear the car. This is really great, and I would not have thought of it.
Awesome job. Keep it up. My local paint guy said that I need to chemical strip all my faded clear down to bare metal before he can paint it. Now I know he just tryin to make some extra money. Cuz all I wanted was a scuff and respray
Came out nice. My hood and roof are pretty bad on my f150. Finna give this a shot. Thanks for the step by step process. I was just gonna try to buff it. Lol didn't know I had to sand then re clear coat. Gonna give it a go this weekend. Maybe do the sanding after work
Hey this is Nancy the lady from Birmingham. Just calling to tell you I am still watching and still enjoying your videos. You are so helpful and trying to show everybody how they can do it themselves. I hope you have a blessed week and keep up the good work.👍🙌🤜🤛👏🫶
How do you not have 1 million + subscribers? Not only are you crazy talented but you also explain it so anyone can understand. Much love and respect brother 👊💯‼️

If I could ask a question - I just finished spraying my fourth coat of jet black (zero flake) base and I wondering if some of the variations I see in the paint...like maybe I ran out of paint on a panel and came back after a refill...I can kind of see that. But there is PLENTY of paint on this car. I'm guessing that 4 coats or clear will make that not a thing anymore. Is that correct or do I need to somehow not have any variations on the entire car? Any info would be hugely appreciated. I watch all your videos and like if that means anything. :)
I’ve been at this shop almost two months now and we get so many of those Yukons/Tahoes that do the same thing. I had to strip the hood to metal and we just hit the roof with 180 prime then sand and shoot. Looks 1000x better than before but it’s only on the dark colored ones that I’ve noticed so far
@christiantrail5313 you’re correct, we have to strip to the metal because the condition comes from the factory initial primer. First truck I did, I blocked and cleared and the cracks/splitting came back in about 6months. All vehicles after that (15 aprox) we took to the metal with no come back issues. Looks great though
How long does the clear coat spray need to cure become I buff it? I’m trying to remove the love bug damage and I need to wet sand my hood first. Thank you.
🔥🔥🔥sprayway you da Paint Gauud love all your videos I want to start learning how to paint and bodywork and customize I going to learn by watching your videos wish I could come see you in person and learn some stuff
Hey Sprayway, see if UreChem makes a Blending Clear...Works good for those hard areas...Turn your air/fluid way down to a fine mist. Still can use the foam tape trick. Just lightly dust it to burn in the rough edge. Practice makes perfect.
This guy would be my first choice, Extremely talented
Greatly appreciated

All this time I'm thinking that would've had to be a complete sand and paint job. Nicely done bruh
💯 Thanks homie, my 2016 tahoe did the same thing. I bought the paint and clear. Just haven't had time to handle it.
KANDY KING!! Another great video. I can't understand how the top looked so bad, but man, you fixed it like always. Thanks for sharing your talents with us it really looks awesome!!

True artisan- great job on restoring the clear-coat looks back to factory!
nice tip Sprayway looks good
Recently found your channel. Instant fan! Strong work here.
Great video. I would’ve sanded down to the basecoat and had reapply basecoat. I didn’t realize you could clearcoat over imperfections and be OK.
Looks great! I learn something every time I watch. Motivation every time.

That’s cause it’s only one coat of clear on that year model unless it got sent back through cause of imperfections….

SW, it looks factory after a lot of hand labor! Do you use dish soap in the water? What kind of clear did you use? Great video! Thanks!
SprayWay All Day 💯
When you say at almost the end, to cut with 1500, was that the sand disk or just a pad with compound.
That's very outstanding work.
wow, nice work!!
Thanks a lot!
