Hey Mr. 303 Electronics: Your Access To Hidden Service Menu video was spot on! I was desperate to get the sudden failure of my Costco 8 year old HP 7525 back on track during my now successful job search. It was so cool to hear your printer doing exactly what mine did step by step. The home, back and cancel buttons do not light up during the reset steps. A flashlight to see them did the trick. HP does not want you to help you see the magic behind those touch-pads. I call it planned obsolescence. I was all ready to go and get an Epson from Costco that was recommended. A big Kool -Aid commercial "Oh Yeah!" to you my friend. Thank you!
OMG!!!Thank you so so much for your time and human kindness! I called HP 3 times and they couldn't help me since its out of warranty and said it was $20.00 whether they fixed the problem or not. TheyThey told me that I was better off buying a new printer since its 2014 model. SOOOO HAPPYY! ~Thank you again!
I'm glad you got it fixed. The fact that the model is older, doesn't make it a good replacement candidate. It is a very good and easy to maintain printer. Have a great weekend.
I have a used 7520 just bought. I cannot access the secret menus per this video. I followed the steps but they do not on my printer. Any ideas? Thanks.
Hello. Clean the control panel and see if the X button is responsive when you are using the printer. When trying to reset, make sure your finger is tapping on the buttons. Sometimes you can miss the button since they are not actually lit up.
My 7510 printer is stuck on the HP logo. I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in -- no change. Can't get to the home screen because the window is stuck on the HP logo. Anything I can do? I've tried holding the power button for ages, and nothing happens.
Hi. If you try to access the reset menu, will it work? You need to tap the back button continuously 3-5 times. It will not light up, but you should be able to slightly see where it is.
Thanks for the useful video. Could I ask you, please... how can I clear the memory on this scanner? I am going to give it away to a fiend, but first I would like to clear the memory, in case here is any personal documents saved there. Thanks a lot!
Is there anyway to bypass the failure screen and do a reset, I can’t seem to get around that print head appears to be missing not detected or incorrectly installed. I’ve taken it out and half the time it works, and half the time it says it’s not working. I would like to try resetting the printer and see if the message just resets itself
Keep getting the message "printer head appears to be missing, not connected or incorrectly installed. I can't even get to the main screen. I have taken the printer head out and reinstalled and everything. Still getting error message. Any help?
Hello. The printhead electronics sometimes go bad, but before you dispose of it, try cleaning the contact areas on prinhtead and the carrier that printhead goes in. If nothing works, I recomment buying a replacement off ebay, etc.
What is the difference between the semi-full reset and the ODBE reset? I am recycling the printer because the feeder no longer works and I want to remove all information about me before recycling.
I have had this printer forever and have enjoyed it for the most part, but the wireless has been a headache for a long time. Anyone have solutions for connecting to wireless (beyond the obvious)?
I guess we are in the same boat. Mine wont connect to my internet or take the password to connect. I bought this years ago to print pics I took and not used it hardly at all in the past 3 years. Thing that pisses me off is the ink thing not taking knockoff ink.
I have a 7520 printer. I got the notification on the LCD screen that I was low on ink. I bought all new HP replacement cartridges and put them in. Went back to print what I was previously working on. When I hit the print button, it then said that I was out of paper! After confirming I had plenty of paper in the tray I tried it again and got the same thing. I checked the cartridges and they were all in correctly. Same warning came on. Even pulled the paper tray out, checked the stack to be sure nothing was stuck and same issue again. I then took out all the new cartridges and put the original ones back in, but now I'm getting the notice no matter what cartridges I have installed. I didn't have any problems with the printer until I ran out of ink this time. Do you have any idea what could be causing this issue? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 7525 and it was working fine and now getting the message " printer / ink system issue" . I have used your very informative videos for cleaning the print head cartridge. then using the trick about taking one cartridge out and then replacing x 5. still not cleared the issue. Any other suggestions?
@@303electronics mine did not light up and did not work even when invisible buttons pushed . Getting print error when printing from photo library but will print test sheets on color
There may be something that is interrupting the connection if the screen turns on but controls are not responding. First, remove ink cartridges, turn printer off, then on. See if control panel responds. If dies, insert one cartridge at a time. Let me know if that works
If you are talking about main paper pick up roller(not ADF), I currently do not. It requires an almost 100% printer disassembly to change the part. If the gears are broken, I wouldn't bother replacing it. Too much work and risk of not putting the printer back together. If the rollers are spinning, but not picking p the paper, try cleaning them like in this video: th-cam.com/video/uyVls41DoDw/w-d-xo.html
This procedure didn't work for me on my 7510! Hit copy as shown, home icon appeared, Hit Home > back > reset > back, nothing. The home, back, reset etc... were not illuminated and touching them didn't do anything either. Oh well, will try to find something else.

I honestly do not think this printer model has that memory, but if it does a semi full reset should be able to take care of it.

Unfortunately, I can't get rid of the "Missing or failes printhead message" message. Guess it locked out any options, like going to "Home". I'm sad.
Same issue

Have Photosmart 7520 & can’t receive fax tho it passes fax test-Hp won’t offer any support as it’s too old. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I can't get my 7520 to print on transparency film. It said it's not the correct size paper but it's letter size. Any suggestions?
I have the photo smart 7510, is there a way to bypass cartridge protection??

Did you fix your issue? I'm getting the out of paper error too! Help?!
I'm going to try this cleaning the rollers... th-cam.com/video/uyVls41DoDw/w-d-xo.html

you just have to put the cartridge carriage correctly
The back and cancel buttons dont light up when in home screen. So this doesnt work at least not on mine
That is strange. I wonder why. You may try the reset even if they do not light up. The buttons are there, slightly visible when looking at an angle.
It worked for me
Mine did not light up but I pressed them anyway and it worked!

Do you have a video on how to replace paper pickup rollers on HP 309?
