    “Passion no longer a passion” - that’s so real. I think sometimes after we enter an industry then we realise truths about it that really suck. Not realistic to see myself in that industry for next 5, 10, 40 years.
    Thanks for this!!

    If I am x I am some influencial person and if people reject my favour I will feel offended and think who u are to reject it, for some small businesses hr will also side bosses, no use sometimes for those useless people bosses like them and is ok for them to be useless, sometimes If quit then sitting at home will also have anxiety , but work till 10 pm is really too much, hope to get a new job next year

    I think what's not mentioned enough, especially regarding burnt out or being really stressed out, is that it's okay if you don't feel competent or you can't keep up with your workload.
    It's important to think in a perspective that it's your boss who hired you, your capacity is part of the package. The ultimate goal of hiring people is to achieve a certain goal/ complete a certain project. If it turns out that you have to push yourself so hard to keep up with deadlines, then maybe it's a good time to reevaluate the project plan and timeline.
    One example: In my workplace, it's a recurring theme that we have a lot of overpromising/undermanned projects because of shitty boss. I am not sure if this has been brought up to the management before, but I always take a stance that, this is my professional educated opinion of what timeline is plausible, what options there is. Either to push back deadline or to expand my team. It's up to the management to make the decision, not your job to compensate for their mistake.
    Just remember that you are the professional here, you give your opinions and the bosses make the call (and also deal with the consequences of their decision).

    If u like a guy he is a suitor but if u dont like the guy but he insists & he is a harasser regardless even if he is your boss..every one has the right to work in a conducive environment & it is not fair if a woman needs to resign just because she is harassed by her boss..and the boss should know that money & status cannot buy love & they cannot force or bully women into liking & accepting them especially if the feelings are not mutual..please, do not use power to force anyone because like Spiderman says 'with great power comes great responsibility!' do not let women lose their respect for such men who like to abuse their power to attain the affections of the woman their interested in..we women just want to go to work, earn a living & go home..when such men insist on going after a woman even after she has clearly shown that she is not interested then that guy is really really very selfish & egoistic..they should never think that they can get away with such acts of harassment..they need to stop..the workplace is a place to work, not to find yr soulmate & it is definitely not a place for any matchmaking & such..if a woman is single just let her be..they dont need to be paired off especially not with their own colleagues or even worst their own boss..I think professionalism should be the rule not the exception..

    Good looks won't let u get away with underperforming at work, but the ability to bs and act in front of management does. It's the opposite for pretty people, constant needing to prove that you are good at it just because you're attractive.

    I want to know who Brenda and Fauzi were referring to for confession #2 🤭

  • @shucklesors
    @shucklesors 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    at 21:26 when brenda misses out on the key difference (i dont blame her) and at 21:53 when fauzi catches the very key difference, my respect for him skyrockets. it shows his empathy and maturity to be able to recognise these key things despite not being one of us (recent graduate in COVID era).
    and later on when he says OT-ing to 10pm is (in summary) about framing it as self-learning - absolutely correct. it is really normal for most of my peers (fintech, startups, consulting) to just be OT-ing every day at the start to try and get up to speed, but dont go around telling people you "OT". it should be framed in your mind as "catching up". it can be incredibly mentally taxing if youre just consuming pdfs after pdfs, stuck in github all by yourself all day or just pummelling through excel sheets and not having social interaction. but to push through, you have to frame it as "self-learning" and "self-improvement" rather than "OT".

    • @QzSG
      @QzSG 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is why mental health is dropping in the ship loads in the industry, learning out of interest or genuine getting up to speed is right, calling OT as self learning is just toxic..

    Uhh I'm extremely surprised Brenda spoke so candidly and disparagingly about her Zula ex-colleague in this manner. It strikes me as extremely unprofessional. Word does go around, after all, and based on contextual info, I can very well find out who it is.
    Furthermore, this is only one side of the story. That person cannot defend themselves here, lest they risk outing themselves.
    If you want to bitch about an ex-coworker, be as generic as possible, never mention any kind of details, even things like gender, unless you want to serve an invitation to the person to debate you publicly, which then makes it a spectacle.
    But anyway not my pasal. Just some friendly advice.
    Anyway I think our society is too quiet and afraid of confrontation. If someone is shitty at work, learn to open your mouths and talk about it so it is dealt with Some people are just oblivious and won't know if they're not told. Be kind and understanding, but be firm. And don't pick up after them, you're just coddling them and being an enabler. 2nd person is complaining about their coworker's intelligence and competence but they themselves lack the core communication skills in the workplace to address problems. That's why the manager said to work in a team. You're supposed to be able to find a way to learn how to navigate this situation. Before pointing fingers at others, try looking at your own self first? And see how everyone can come to a win win solution.
