One day... in about 120 years or so from now. we will all be just memories in someone else's head, every single human living right now. we will all be gone... for ever... it sounds sad and depressing from our mortal perspective. but that's only because we have evolved to fear death. once you attempt to embrace it.. and accept it as a absolute fact. only than you may or may not realise that it isn't sad nor happy. you'll relize that even sadness and happiness don't exist and you've been here in this universe since it began. and you'll be here for ever.. your atoms.. your components.. everything you've ever known. non of it is new to the universe. so should we follow our instincts and fear death ? we don't really seem to have a choice. even those who take their own life by drowning or hanging will at the very last moment struggle to stay alive against their will.
