It is a bit on the heavier size but I comfortably wear my 260gm 18mm thick 1000m tool watch (no dive bezel).... it depends what your used to as it was very noticible when i wore it on my other lazy wrist
It is nice to see SM bringing in more pieces under $300. I had the other version of this with the PT3000...really was a good watch. I'd like to see the improvements with this version.
Would be good to get a breakdown in cost between this and far more expensive watches. I really struggle with the prices these days, even Christopher Ward is getting up there in cost.
Christopher ward is the end point of San martin. They do what san martin does but have the Swiss made label. San Martin can probably make just as good watches, but hopefully at half the price in the next year or 2.

I have a Heimdallr turtle homage and even though it's a brilliant watch and wears incredibly well for 45mm, it's too heavy even on a rubber strap. 200+g no thanks. As a couple of other comments have said, I wish more AliExpress brands would consider good quality quartz movements. I have a couple of San Martins with Ronda 6004 small seconds with 5 jewels and end of battery life indicator, they are supremely accurate, slim and make for an excellent reliable watch.

The bracelet is not better than the last one/V1, and it's way chunkier. It's definitely a downgrade from the orginal, the clasp and black dial are the only good thing about it. I also had mine have a defect; there is a ring in the back holding the movement in place, and it slipped under the roter wheel so it wouldn't wind.
NEW YEARS WISHES. Fewer NH whatever movement watches. No more tiny, unframed date windows. Maybe even a day complication. More solar quartz movements. An emphasis on ACCURACY.

Yes yes SM finishing and all. Nice and satisfying to have, but after all we buy watches for how they look and feel. And this one is not a beauty. There is a massive disproportion between the hands and the size of the indices. The fat bezel doesn’t help either. Ungainly design over all.
Movement snobs cab go buy a 10k watch! Not me! NH are fine! Gets tiring reading there complaining. I would rather have a nice variety of watches than one expensive watch. That’s my opinion!

San Martin is so boring. Literally I've this watch so many times. And more importantly all there watches are the same. The quality is No different from others even at the price. SAN MARTIN IS SO DAMN OVER HYPED just stop there not a special brand

@@johnbrylledomingo6377 The indices and date are too small, the bezel numbers too big and in the wrong font - I think those two things alone are making it look really unbalanced. I guess the hands are close enough. San Martin couldn't put together a balanced dial if their lives depended on it

NH35 movement, no I don't want it for this price. I find out that aliexpress wathes are not worth your money. I rather go to buy Casio, Timex, Citizen, Seiko...in this price range
A $200 Timex? It's going to be made on the (very) cheap in China, & have a quartz movement at best, or a Chinese mechanical at worst. An AliX watch is easily better value than a Timex in this price bracket
I bought the version one when it came out with the pt 5000, have beat it to death but after a good brush and polish it looks like new again. Wouldn't call this one an upgrade tho? Apart from the clasp I prefer the V1

seems that lume stands up pretty well
and i have no objections to the workhorse NH35 - still a decent if a little outdated movement
The only negative to the nh35 movement is its ubiquity.

No need to disassemble the watch to weigh it - you can put a small glass on the scale then zero the scale and then pop the watch in.
Interesting mix of Casio Duro (dial) and Seiko MM300 (case). Very polished, and a lot to like. Sadly that's a big pricetag.

I like it a lot. But the lug span and male end links make it a no for my 7in. wrist. Still liked seeing it though. Enjoyed it.

San Martin have done exactly that..
San Martin quality has crashed; lots of reports on FB of problems, and their QC is horrendous. Buyer beware. Spend a few bucks more and buy a micro.

There'll always be a market for homage. Not everyone has micro or luxury money or, wants to spend it.

For a Seiko to feel as solid as a 200£ San Martin, it's got to be very close to 1000£ these days... and the movement is the same.
