I set this up over the weeking running on an rtx 4070. Overall performance was pretty solid using VD, Q3 & 80 FPS cap. I do wish the faces in game were better but it's something I can live with to experience NC in VR. I spent a few hours just walking around and noticed so many more little details than I ever did in flat screen mode. It's an awesome mod and I look forward to trying out his other ports.
My only issue is the slight blurring around people and objects when you move too fast, but it's present on all of the games that I've tested so far. Did you play around with graphic settings to try improve the textures on faces?
And I also mentioned using a 3080 at the minimum, Which counts for 3080, 3090, 4070, 4080, 4090 and all the ti and super models, along with amd equivalents. (And that you could probably play it with less, but I'm not sure how well it would perform due to not having any to test) I'm using a 4090, but never mentioned that you "need" a 4090 to play this.
@gatgat00tweed78 I think Luke Ross prefers just playing on controller, which I don't mind as I can play in my recliner if I want. But full motion support would be great, but would take a lot to get it to work.
A 3080 will play this game in VR with great results. On your PC make sure Game Mode is off, HAGS is on, go for 500 encode bit rate in the Oculus Debug Tool and select Normal for link quality, if you are on Quest. In the Quest PC app max the resolution and go for 90htz refresh rate.Use a fibre optic link cable for sharpest image but you can get good results with VD. Use DLSS, transformer and Quality settings in game. Go for the highest or next resolution down, have texture on High, colour high, LOD high but all the rest turn off or have them on low. In the REAL VR menu choose 1/3 rendering mode. With that you'll get 60fps. I hope that helps someone out. Oh and choose x16 on anoisotropic filtering.
Wait waittt WAITTT!!! You can actually use frame generation?? Holy cow that could be incredible for people struggling to reach 90 or 120 fps, can you try it please? (yes I know asw, ssw and other interpolations exist but I never liked them because they are not that smooth compared to native frame rate )
@@ReaperzVR didn't luke ross fix cyberpunk's frame gen ghosting issue? I think i saw that somewhere on reddit and have been wondering about it to this day. It's actually the only reason i watched this video because i haven't seen any vr content creator making vr cyberpunk video after that announcement.
@dreamgaming393 not sure, I tried with the frame generation on earlier after the B4nan0n's post and it wasn't a pleasant experience, basically completely unplayable with frame generation turned on.
Here's a quote from one of Luke Ross's posts on his Patreon from October 2024. Cyberpunk 2077 Since the update that introduced FSR 3, several users (especially with AMD GPUs) have been encountering problems with the game wanting to turn on frame generation and crashing on startup as a result. Please remember that frame generation never works with my mods, because it's not meant for VR and it conflicts with my own frame interpolation code which is part of AER v2. RealConfig will now automatically turn off all frame generation options for you, so just update to this new release of the mod and run RealConfig to reset your options to values known to work well in VR.
Just need this and souls/ring with FULL VR controls like picking up objects and weapons with your motion tracked actual hands and ill never need an overpriced GPU again cause i will have finished video gaming
On 4070 Super graphics in VR must be so much worse than flat version, that I couldn't enjoy playing it. Also mantis blades build is probably the worse for VR, because these blades ale so close to face/screens. I will try it again on much more powerful GPU. Is there option to play on 3D screen instead of full VR? I liked this option in VorpX, but because VorpX doesn't work via Virtual Desktop it's unusable for me.
There's certain settings that need to be turned off, like Ray tracing. But being inside the game you really don't notice the slightly worse graphics as it's the same principle with normal VR graphics. When your in there experiencing it, you don't even notice the the very slight downgrade in graphics. Everything still looks amazing. As for the mantis blade, yeah you can't really see them, but if you set your position, and then move back slightly you get a better angle and can see them better. Still not the best though, but I rarely use them so no issue for me. And I don't know if they have a setting to play on 3D screen, and I'm not quite sure what you mean as I haven't used VorpX yet.
@ ohh I noticed the graphics downgrade - it’s a day and night difference (also because vr needs much higher resolution to look really good, and on flat screen even 2560x1440 is acceptable for me. And ofc RT off.
@@ReaperzVR dont use vorpX , the program has done its time and was built before any of these mods happened to exist, VorpX has been for so many years nothing more than the universal "mod" for every games, LukeRoss mods are the dedications above this when it comes to specifics titles
After a few minutes you really don't care, I'm just enjoying being fully immersed inside the game. And I do actually like just playing without my arms flapping around everywhere lol. And you can just sit back on your recliner and have a nice chill gaming session in VR
As always, I noticed some errors after uploading. I also called it hz instead of fps, but the same settings apply for both settings and streaming pages. But thank you for pointing it out also, I'll add it in the description as notes.
Yes, I have the new dlss transistor/transformer (whatever it is) setting on and it works the same. Luke also mentioned in a post that it did not break anything in his mod.

@bassgobrrrrr I'll check out VorpX for cyberpunk soon and compare them both. But the Luke Ross mod is drag and drop simple for the most part, and compatible with 28 games now. So 1 month of Patreon just to get the mod isn't too bad In my opinion. But I'll definitely check out VorpX also.

Can you even play it normally with a 1660 super? I honestly wouldnt even try any VR game with a 1660. I'll try set it up on my laptop that has a 2060 and see how well that works, I think they compare almost equally in benchmarks and have the same 6gb ram.
@@ReaperzVR Yes it run around 70 fps and down to 40/50 in some intense fight with multiple npcs, maybe if i set everything in LOW settings it can run with VR ight?
I would highly doubt it. Consider that for vr you're rendering the game twice, more or less and you're using a much higher resolution. I imagine you run the game flatscreen at 1080p, while native vr resolution is usually around 4k
tried this awhile back it's not good unless you want to develop some kind of double vision which can be fixed with better GPU but not even 4090 could handle it and doubt 5090 will make it usable. This mod is nothing new tons of videos on it.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by double vision. I have not experienced any sort of double vision. The visual quality has been quite exceptional apart from slight blurring around characters. The mod is definitely usable as I've been playing it quite often for over a week now, and have 0 issues with my eyesight. If you haven't played it with the mod for "awhile" maybe it was previously like this and has been fixed? There has been multiple updates added for Cyberpunk since "awhile" back. Or maybe you didn't have your settings or headset set right 🤷 As for this mod being nothing new, it may not be new to you, but it may be new to others and especially new to new VR users, and I've had requests to cover this and other R.E.A.L.VR mod compatible games, which is why I made the video, for them, with my opinion. If you don't care to watch the video, then don't 🤷

Bro. A 4090 isn't a "decent" gaming pc... That's very well in high end territory.
