I just watched the episodes and i didn't hear heather say he left me, i thought she said "he's gone" ... Which can mean a lot of things in the apocalypse
Something the show left out from the books is why Joey is the favorite. Ish is the school teacher. But he doesn't understand kids, or how to make learning interesting. He's genuinely frustrated with them, and their reluctance to learn. Until Joey starts school. Unlike the others, he has fun learning. He's the most like Ish, and becomes the favorite

Please don’t judge the book by the show. This could have been a show we could debate like we do on From. It’s too bad that this show couldn’t have been a multi episode season series because there were so many nuances they did not show to make the actions of people make sense in 6 episodes. It’s a complex themed book that if adapted needs time to tell the story. Like Dune or Game of Thrones. The show didn’t adequately focus on the important interactions and like it shows how will civilization move forward. Using characters to show the differences between before the pandemic and after. The book fills those times in. For example; Jorge is very religious. His resistance to killing Charlie was based on his relationship to his religion. He loves Evie but he couldn’t consider taking a life. The show didn’t make that clear. The book asks us to see how our characters move in the world and how they influence the community: intuition (Emma), rationalism (Ish) people skills (Izrah) compassion (Molly). IMO Charlie was like an evil naturally charismatic cult leader who rolled through settlements taking everything he wanted including people. A snake in the grass. The sickness is the supposed to be typhoid fever. No vaccines no immunity. The relationship between Ish & his sons wasn’t fleshed out. Ish as a leader is always looking to determine who will lead after he no longer can. Joey is most like Ish. He naturally takes to book learning, natural curiosity and analytical thinking. Ish loves both his sons but he relates more to Joey than Alex. Hint- pay attention to the young people. Notice how customs and knowledge have changed. How has the Earth environment changed? The opening credits change at every episode to show how it has. CIVILIZATIONS MAY CHANGE BUT THE EARTH ABIDES. I’d like to explain so much more but I don’t want to spoil.❤️❤️❤️
@@lunacascade1125 I interpreted Joey's status differently. The kids were acting like he was the next to be leader, or maybe priest. But I think Ish wanted him to be the keeper of the knowledge of the times before, not necessarily the village leader
I'm still watching episode 4 but the wife who's so friendly was so excited to meet the new people lol, it was a bit annoying! Sorry, I try to be positive lol!
I don’t think I wouldn’t just let the new people decide if they wanted to say. We would have to interview them individually and then WE would decide if we wanted to invite them to stay. They barely know those people. With that many new people, they gotta set up laws or rules with consequences.
Thanks! Sorry for the long comment!
No problem! We love a good long comment! It is always good to hear from you.
I'm sad that we only have one episode to go.
Really?? That sucks!
Yes, it’s a limited series. I hate that it’s going soon.

That's exactly what she said implying he's dead and she regrets ever leaving.
I am going to watch that part again later today.
@@jonfreeman9682that’s what I got too.
That’s what I got too.

These two episodes were really strong.
Yep. Sure was.

Two really good episodes. Emma keeps upsetting me with how trusting she is with people
Way too trusting. ‼️‼️‼️

Great analysis. Thanks.
This was great. I’m currently listening to the audiobook and I was screaming saying “But Jorge is a pastor!”

You too! 🎄🎉

Yeah her character is way too trusting. What did you think of the ending.
I loved the episodes. I'm the oldest and only girl, so I would very much be like Bo-Heather. I like hearing your viewpoints.

Love the point on them leaving her alone in her little hole. Should have never happened.
What up Watchers and Margo.
