I have personally worked with the modules, at Brickworld in Tampa, from the large stacker to a little before the train. They are all very well built but the red one with the exit ramp issues was always a pain. He's a really nice guy and always willing to help. Great GBC!
One of the first lego videos I whatched!!!!!!! I AM SO GLAD I FOUND IT AGAIN!!! This video was like a month or two old when I first whatched it. This video still actually entertains me as much as it did around 5 years ago. Thank you for inspiring me to collect and build my own things out of legos 5 years ago!!!!!!

That’s a really neat idea, it vaguely reminds me of how traxxis RC cars are sold: out of the box many of the components (which all mirror real-world scale cars/working internal combustion engines) are made of plastic, and while they function just fine if used every once in a while, they are subject to wear/failure over time - at which point the owner has the option to replace the part with a factory stock original, or spend a little extra and get a machined aluminum/steel version of the same part, which will obviously last an extremely long time as well as modestly improving actual performance by reducing weight, etc. Id absolutely be the dude in line crushing all the children’s hopes and dreams by buying out all those “custom” additions 😂
A 3d printer can solve that issue in a jiffy by using stronger materials to print gears/axles any lego part, and yes it is legal for you to do so. Lego doesn't own the copywrite to bricks, ect, only applies to how they are assembled (aka the instructions). Materials like ASA or Carbon Fiber can be used to print gears that are much stronger. Lego itself is made out of ABS, so its fairly strong already, and ASA is its big brother being stronger and UV resistant (won't discolor in the sun or get brittle). Not to mention just having more gears and parts for when something does break.
These are surprisingly clean looking for the most part, the majority of great ball contraptions I see are using VERY faded balls with the majority of the print worn off & many visible scratches. I’ve always wondered why they don’t use cleaner/nicer looking balls, I mean granted they are long out of production and we’re rare to begin with, but these guys are the kings of AFOL lol, you’d think they could spring for it 😉
They need to place a counter at the beginning, then another at the end to see how many make it to the end. Eventually most of the balls will make it through one way or another, but it would be cool to see the difference between the start and end counters and get an idea of how many balls are running through the system at a single point in time.
reminds me of the shop keeper from the first disney aladdin movie "Combination hooka and coffee maker, also makes Juilian Fries, will not break." "It broke."
Yeah, I noticed that. Same thing happened with a bunch of other ones as he passed too. My favorite was when "Blue Steps" stopped working when he demonstrated the anti-jam.
i just had to comment that this whole brickfair thing is so fascinating to me, i would LOVE to attend and build one of these awesome ball contraction sets!

It would be awesome if Lego produced elements like bearings and heavy duty parts for stuff like this to reduce wear. This is absolutely fascinating!

13:35 if it jams it switches direction and keeps running (immediately jams and quits running)
