Yea I don't think that was "Fork of the North", it was Karelia from their first record. The drum beat is a polka beat (listen to If I Should Fall from the Grace of God by the Pogues) which is also a popular dance in Finland (pariisipolkka, polkka). If they were going to this song in an acoustic set, the polka is a great rhythm to do it to, and sense it is found all through Finnish folk music all the better.
I like very much introduction with fork of the north from tales' album, but I must say that sign from the north side version is so curious and a bit weird, tomi's arrangements are great for a former growl song, clarinet sounds pretty good and some guitars too... but drum rhythm is not the best choice I guess, it's like a country music style... credence cwr or something like that :).. but it's ok, Amorphis is a badass band anyway, they have many songs which can be played in acoustic sessions...
Haha, how would they've reacted in the era they wrote this song. Back when they were kids and all heavy and stuff. And then a band or their future selves played exactly this for them. Should've been awkward :D
Those half-assed guitar voicings LOL. This functions well as a novelty, like that bluegrass At the Gates cover band, but not as real music for people to enjoy.
this is BADASS
I love this. Brilliant!
Awesome!

Kids, it's called music. They're jamming their own song in a new way/genre.
Enjoy it or leave
the audience is hilarious
