    Hey, guys.
    Unfortunately, we've misspelled the word "leisure" in the video. Let's face it, we're embarrassed. But we still hope that you'll enjoy the other aspects of this explainer and learn something new. Thank you!

    I appreciate how informative the video is. As for the projections for the future, they already have that info. That means you get different prices depending on the IP of your work computer and home network. But the Ethicallity of this model certainly is questionable, since airliners can tap into the individual profile of each customer with data of purchasing habbits and capabilities, they can sell the second to last over-priced ticket to a small business owner, but say it's fully booked to a family man.

    Is it also true that the location affects your price, heard that one somewhere?
    And that a VPN can save you some bucks.

      No, it's a common myth. Prices may change from one search to another because of the things that we describe in the video: Airlines react to demand. On top of that, if you check fares on metasearch engines and online travel agencies, you're likely to see cached prices, not the current ones. Caching increases search speed. Instead of asking an airline reservation system every time a user makes a query, they usually show you the results found sometime before. Then the cache gets updated, and this may make strike you as if prices changed because you deleted cookies/used VPN/changed language settings. If you want to save a buck or two, subscribe to price-drop alerts and book a couple of months in advance.

    Do you think this new NDC consumer information may lead to discrimination? Because let's face it - who wants to pay more for the same service. Holding all things constant - the only real equalizer it seems like is quality of seat + urgency of purchase. But if i'm flagged as a "business traveler", will I always just see a hirer fare even if the quality/urgency are the same.

      Dynamic pricing helps airlines be more flexible and along with other strategies it actually drives prices down. Flying today is many times cheaper than it was a couple of decades ago. Regarding NDC, as of today, it seems that pricing isn't going to be on a per person basis. It's not going to define you as a business traveler and the rest of the people browsing the same seat at the same time as leisure ones and adjust prices accordingly. So, at any given moment travelers will see the same price, defined by the time to departure and current demand.

    if i want to built a ML model to predict prices where can i get the data?

    • @AltexSoft
      @AltexSoft  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fareboom - that we mention in the video - used their internal search history, which isn't available in public. You may try looking for public datasets.

    Do they give salary to the aircraft workers in dynamic system no right then why so dynamic price. I think it should be declared as illegal for looting customers.

      The number of passengers on board is every time different but airline should operate according to a schedule anyway wright? So airlines are trying to cover their risks and unsold tickets/lost profit by using dynamic pricing to be able to operate due to schedule no matter what, this is tough rival business.
