- In this video I show how to eliminate the seam down the center front and back of the bag, plus show how to add a recessed zipper panel. I used my favorite concert tee to make this bag!

I still love this pattern - I've made 8 or 10 of them in both sizes and I'm about to make some more. All of my friends and family members have a bag and wallet set from this pattern and I have two sets.
I have maybe hundreds of patterns and I've made a couple of dozen of them and this one comes together so beautifully with no drama! 😂 It's also a very nice looking bag - my absolute favorite bag for everyday use.
Thanks so much for a great pattern!
A seamstress that shares my musical taste, love the bag it turned out SEW GOOD!
Awesome tee shirt design.
I love your choice of tee, GREAT BAND, you have a gorgeous bag!😍
I recently bought this pattern and will be making my own bag as well. I love the instructions, not overwhelming at all, and I am terrified of reading patterns LoL. Thank you for this beautiful design.
👏👏👏🥰
I love that its an avenged t-shirt
Saw them live with Metallica and they where awesome
This is exactly the pattern ive been waiting for to repurpose my old concert tees
I saw them with Metallica too! I got a fist bump from James Hetfield!!
@@SincerelyJenPatterns thats awesome
Hodně se mi líbí vaše zpracování. Je takové čisté, žádné vrásky. Ještě jednou - moc pěkné.
Thank you!
You had me at A7X.
How much bigger do you think the large one is compared to the small one? I am just making the small one but feel its probably a little small for what I want to use it for, but not sure if the large one is going to be too big.
The measurements of the two are:
Large: 13.5" Wide, 11.5" High, 5" Deep
Small: 11" Wide, 9" High, 4" Deep
You can see pics of them side by side on my website: sincerelyjenpatterns.com/products/ugly-naked-guy-hobo-bag
If I wanted to do the larger bag using a tee-shirt, would i make the same changes to the pattern pieces?
My machine wouldnt sew through the connectors when top stitching the exterior top at the end of the bag making. I had to leave that part. I used denim for the exterior of the bag and I think its a little too thick. I used a tex 70 thread and a size 21 needle. Sewed the rest of the bag perfectly.
Thanks for the tutorial. I just bought the pattern and want to add the recessed zipper. Did you add anything to the lining because you had to cut the fabric to add the zipper panel?
I didn't. Since I only use 1/4" seam allowance on those pieces, it seems to work out fine. I've made several this way now and never have a problem!
I have an avenged tee somewhere what do I use to stiffen it please.
I used two layers of Pellon Shapeflex SF101 woven interfacing. It was still slouchy like a hobo bag should be, just structured enough and not stretchy at all.
What is the name of the chalk pen you are using?
It is a Dritz Chalk Pencil. I bought mine at JoAnn's.
Is that a regular or a chalk pen?
I’m pretty sure I saw ‘Dritz’ on her pen so I looked it up and bought this one. I’m sure it’s the same one. www.amazon.com/Dritz-667-Tailors-Marking-Set/dp/B0052WSQHK/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=Dritz+chalk+pen&qid=1622569554&sr=8-4
Have you done a tutorial on a recessed zipper using cotton woven fabric?
Not for this bag. I would do it just the same, only I would add woven interfacing to the cotton.
@@SincerelyJenPatterns thank you
What a Great looking bag. Was it full size please. Love the recessed Zipper addition and using braid for you connectors and Handle. Thank you. You are a Master using that tiny Machine foot, I feel I don't have enough control with that one, but I am wondering if that may be the reason your lady doesn't like back stitching over such thick seams, I just feel there isn't enough fabric being CONTROLLED with the skinny foot, to much movement/play, just my opinion. ;)
It was the Small size bag, printed at 100%!
@@SincerelyJenPatterns Thank you for replying so fast, after asking I checked your pattern and saw a large one too, think that is the one I would have to go for, These are popping up all over my feed now today. :)
